Has anyone met someone through online dating that worked out to be a long term relationship or marriage? My hubby of 34 years passed away 1 1/2 years ago & I miss the love and companionship. I did a profile recently on an online dating site but so far it seems like I am not attracting people I would be compatible with - what are your thoughts about online dating? As a christian should I just pray and wait for God to drop someone in my lap so to speak?

I've not ever done online dating before. I have heard some stories that work. I hope your search find's you a nice person to spend time with! :)

Yes a lot of exes with issues be careful !
There is a reason for some people being single
Online dating can be fun tho... You can meet a lot of interesting people even if it doesn't work out into a relationship

I don't think you will have any problems. I would try eHarmony, I heard a lot of good things from them. I am married for 9 yrs and we met online 14 yrs ago this November. It's like any relationship...you have your ups and downs. Sorry to hear about your husband :( . You will do fine finding companionship online. Just don't pick the 1st one you meet...lol...unless you see fireworks! :) Good luck! :in-love: :D

I am sorry to hear about your husband. I had a huge accident that left me paralyze and thought I would never find someone but I started dating online and met a wonderful man I have been dating for 3 and a half years now.

A few good stories and a few bad ones. My brother met the lady he married on line. My brother in law also did. Both couples have been married a long time.

I know a few people who have met their spouses on online dating sites, but I just can't imagine myself ever doing it. To each their own though I guess.

I don't know much about it but I would say do your research. Even if you meet someone online, find out all you can about that person (i.e. background checks, google them). In the meantime, might I suggest finding a hobby that you like to do. Something that will keep you busy and maybe involves connecting with other people. I can't even imagine what you're going through.

I agree, make sure to do research. Also I suggest talking to them (messaging, phone, skype, etc) as long as possible before meeting them to get a good "feel" of who they really are.

If I were you, I would pray on it and wait. No telling who you can meet online. They may seem nice and sincere, but have a hidden agenda. Don't fall for online dating.

yes, I have tried Online-Dating more then a few times over the years! never with much luck but I for sure recommend it to anyone to give it a shot

I believe there is a dating site called Christian Mingle that might be a good place to start for you.
