I saw the news the other day about a woman boxer getting a serious injury to her ear; the other woman cut it off with one of her punches.
She may lose her hearing in that ear.
She can't get her ear back.
People do the darn est things for "entertainment".
If you go "too far", some things are beyond repair and you have to go through more difficult circumstances before you can get out.

I never understood why a woman would want to get her face punched. There are other professions that don't require maiming. Even if you make a boatload of money, what is the price you pay for the rest of your life. Not worth it. Sorry to hear they could not reattach the ear. Wonder what prosthetic she will have. Or maybe a fake ear sown onto her head.BM

I could never undestand why any woman would want to be a boxer. Why would you want to go into a ring and punch and get punched.

Probably the same reason why men want to box... I never really cared for boxing, but some people like to participate in it for a variety of reasons. Maybe for physical activity, maybe a way to let out your aggression / stress, etc. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I think women have every right to box just as men do. I may not understand their reasons, but I respect their choice.

I am not into boxing, I just don't understand why some people want to stand up there and get there lights knoked out. And as far as women, I am old fashioned and do not believe they should be doing it. some day they will regret it.

I do not allow it! No boxing for me!

Wow that is very gross, i would never box it is just to dangerous of a sport and not worth the injuries for the rest of your life. :(

That's sad about her ear. And I would say that women probably box for the same reason men do. Really I don't think it's weird. May not be a career choice for me but if it's something they want to work for and makes them happy then who am I to judge?

I just don't get women boxers. Too old fashion I guess.

She was a UFC fighter fighting on the biggest stage in the world. Some people have their own priorities. She was/is an elite fighter whose wear and tear caught up with her. Her cauliflower ear actually popped twice. It's an unfortunate event, but it comes with the territory. The fighters understand the risks and are willing to make those sacrifices to be the best. I wish her a speedy recovery.

No one should be happy about her injury, but this is one of the risk involved in sports whether you're male of female. Truth is if she woke up fine tomorrow I'm sure she would be back in the ring again, as said above I wish her speedy recovery.
