Title: Should America change its policies concerning Hostages?
Post by: MichelleHW101 on December 26, 2014, 04:53:02 am
I say yes.  On the whole America should not negotiate with terrorist because 1) if America gives into demands for one hostage then every time a terrorist takes a hostage America is forced to give into demands and that is NOT what America is about (Air Force One anybody?) 2) Being taken Hostage is a risk people take for doing their job in an area located in a terrorist zone.  Why I say yes, is because while I think that particular part of the policy should remain the same I do NOT agree with the portion that allows the families of a Hostage to be prosecuted for helping fund terrorist when all they are really doing is whatever is in their power to get back their family member.

I don't think we should give in to terrorist hostage demands.  If we do, there will be more and more hostage situations in the future.

Obama has made some horrible trades that were incredibly lopsided and not in our favor. It's embarrassing.

I agree with you hawkeye. What he did is not right and could harm our nation.

America should not give into demands regarding to people who travel to places that are known for kidnapping like N. Korea and the Middle Eastern Area... I facepalm myself everytime I see in a news article about an American getting arrested in N. Korea for something like touring and religion spreading
