I second this. It it amazing at clearing up your nose and throat. A bit nasty, but very effective

I usually take ibuprofen, pseudo-ephedrine and cough medicine, drink hot tea with lemon, stay as warm as possible...i try to sweat out the cold.
-
when i feel like i am getting sick i start taking Airborne to build up my immune system and it usually keeps me from getting full blown sick --
-
I gargle with warm salt and water and sometimes I add hydrogen peroxide to kill the germs. I have been having a slight cough and sore throat.
-
Hot tea is my trick....drinking lots of fluids in general is important...I have a lot of OJ too...rest up and feel better soon!
-
I just quickly drink warm water down then make some ginger soup with chicken.
-
I drink hot peppermint tea.
-
Theraflu should help get rid of those problems
-
Thanks for sharing, its good to know about about the different kinds of suggestions here. I will try it next time. I had a bad flu two weeks ago, that was terrible.
-
mine just started yesterday..i usually take robitussin, but the last time i got sick i took a tsp of honey and lemon juice..helped a lot..guess i need to start back...

I like chicken noodle soup. I don't know why it makes me feel better, but it does. I'm not a fan of tea, but I'll drink it with lots of honey. We all had the flu for Christmas and that stunk. Well wishes to you.

My tradition is boiling a handful of rice with a little bit of sea salt and inhale the the stem. It helped me every time I had a cold.

You should watch the mountain men show on Netflix. There is a guy from North Carolina who uses some kind of a yellow root plant and he boils it in water and drinks it. Then he sits in the sauna for hours until all the toxins sweats out of his body and then he feels healthy again. It's a one remedy fits all sort of illnesses. LOL
-
All good answers.I think nipping the problem in the bud before it gets started helps too.
I suggest taking pro-biotics.The natural health supplement puts good bacteria in your gut. This helps strengthen the immune system.
I have mentioned them here before and i will do so again.Purity Products in Long Island,NY.
They have a web-site.

I've been sick with colds/flu since January. I do the ACV daily, the coconut oil, the Emergen-c packet, tea with honey, warm milk with cinnamon & honey, Vicks in the vaporizer, Aleve, Alka Seltzer cold & flu, a multi-vitamin and this year added Pineapple juice to the regime. It doesn't seem like any of these put a dent in anything except my wallet.
-
My daughter keep sneezing every night, she seems fine in the day time.
-
I take zinc at the first sign of a cold. I believe it shortens the duration of the infection.
-
You are allergic to something! Snow, dust, perfume...even your own clothing! Take some OTC (over the counter) allergy pills, use lemon honey cough drops and gargle some mouth wash...spit it all out- do not swallow. Watch what you eat. Your diet has a lot to do with it! Before it gets out of hand, consult your nurse. Because it could be something else.

I caught a cold 10 days ago and I'm still trying to recover. The stuff I've been taking for it is working fairly well. Next time I'll remember some of these helpful tips.
-
It depends on whether it is from the flu, cold, allergies, or sinus infection. Each is treated differently. All are miserable!
-
Take zinc everyday~
-
Load up on vitamin c for sure. Green tea is good and lemon oil can help too
-
I usually drink lemon tea, ginger tea, and Buckley's (a strong medicine that tastes like Vicks smells, bleh!) whenever I have a cold.
-
My mother gave us a teaspoon of warm honey. When I became an adult I took warm honey and mixed in a little whiskey. That worked too.
-
I definitely would recommend gargling with either salt water or hydrogen peroxide which clears up a sore throat nicely. Both methods taste nasty but work wonders! I know honey is also good for many ailments, including a sore throat. On that note, did you know that honey never expires!?
-
Yes I forgot about the salt water thing, I have a cold right now and I have been pounding the Vitamin c and liquids like they are going out of style.
-
Not doing too much for mine except extra vitamin C because I'm scared to take anything over the counter with all the heart meds I take. I have a raw chest, coughing and sneezing as well but got rid of my sore throat. Chicken soup and other hot liquids seem to help me. Well here is hoping we both get well soon.
