I am ready to get the taxe refund. But I am not ready to file yet. I need to get all my W@s. They are scattered about. Plus I also have to file for my dead husband. Not fun I am sure. BMaston12

Not me. I'm dreading it this year. I have learned that I will probably owe more on my health insurance because of the overtime I worked last year. I got my policy through the state and they gave me a monthly "allowance" to use towards the premium. In addition to that, I have to pay taxes on an $8,000 trip to Hawaii that I won last year.
-
No major concerns here, I've worked hard all year, now I'm simply awaiting my W2's.
-
I am ready to get my tax return back but wait I haven't gotten all my stuff back to file yet darn
-
I am. This will be the first year me and the hubby won't have to file an injured spouse form. He made all the money this year and fixed his filing status on his forms from his job. Fingers crossed it all works out for us

How can anyone be "ready" when you don't even get your W-2s, etc. until the end of January!!!!!
-
I am ready this year and hope to get out of their debt. Looking forward to not paying uncle Sam.
-
I am I hope I get something back instead of owing taxes
-
I'm ready
-
I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of people shocked to see the penalty, err I mean tax, for not having health insurance this past year.
-
me too waiting for my w2's to come. I hope I get some handsome amount back this year :)

Good Luck to you at H&R Block! I have a feeling that you are in for a busy period in the next few months! My accountant is impossible to get in touch with from January until late September but prepares my taxes quickly, efficiently and error free with a guarantee to go to bat for me if there is ever any question on my returns. He also refers business to one of my side pursuits which has proven to be fairly lucrative. I am never ready for tax time because I always owe money but my accountant makes it a little less painful and provides direction on how to minimize the April fifteenth sting. H &R Block is a good outfit to be connected to and you can make some serious coin during tax season as well as gain a good education from them!
-
i'm never ready for the tax season! LOL
-
im ready but I have to wait for all my forms to come in

Yes, Hawkeye...a lot of people are going to be in a panic. This is the biggest tax change in 20 yrs! I became ACA certified (Affordable Care Act Specialist) to help others understand how this change will affect them and their tax household. There are also exemptions to look forward to if the taxpayer did not have qualifying health insurance for all 12 months of 2014. And most people can just bring in their last pay stub of 2014 to file their taxes. So Happy Tax season to all! :)

According to my experience H&R block charges a lot for filing the taxes, Last year they charged me a lot. I dnt even want to mention amount they charged me. Not a good experience for me with them
-
I am! It only all my documents would come in the mail soon.
-
I do my own online, easy and cheap :highfive: 8)
-
Not me, I can't wait for it to be over.
-

Nice intro....lol.
I worked on my taxes today. Almost done.
-
Not really ready yet, still waiting like everyone on the W@s. Good luck everyone...
-
Bring it on. I'm not ready. but it's good to start off with a possessive attitude!
-
I am never ready. I usually start preparing as soon as a tax season is over. It never works. I always go back into my mode of procrastination.
-
I'm ready
-
I'm waiting for the w-2's before I can begin to file... then I'll be ready to file.
-
My sister works for a tax firm.
She gets a lot of overtime.
I don't make that much money anyway, so it doesn't effect me, either way.
-
I'm ready... :)
-
I'll just say I just want to to get it over with. Tax season was never on my "looking forward to do" list, but I know I need to get this done. I'm hoping for a refund this year. I have an accountant friend, but I also was able to acquire free from TurboTax a software too.
-
We filled ours Jan.20th. Now just awaiting the money.

I got mine the 2nd week of Jan.
-
I'm generally ready for tax season because I normally get a nice little refund from state and federal. Just waiting for the last of my forms I need to arrive.
-
Just got my W2, still waiting for a few more bank statements and mortgage tax documents before I can file. Slowly making sure I have everything else in order. Not expecting any issues.
-
I'm not excited. It is a lot of work.

Anybody know how having a very large out-of-pocket dental/medical expense and much lower than usual income affects the ole return?

Anybody know how having a very large out-of-pocket dental/medical expense and much lower than usual income affects the ole return?
If you itemize instead of using the standard deduction, you can deduct out of pocket medical expenses greater than 10% (7.5% if over 65) of your adjusted gross income.
Without knowing the exact specifics of your situation, I would guess not at all.

I am still awaiting all the necessary forms. I normally do file early as we normally get a sizable refund. But, this year who knows? I am not sure how our family will deal with the health care issue as my wife is not yet insured. Health insurance has always been unaffordable unless our employers have a good plan. Both my wife and my 19 year old son work only part-time and are not covered by their respective employers. So, long story short, I have mixed emotions. As, overall I feel that the IRS and it's tax laws are "unconstitutional", put a hamper on our GOD given "freedoms" and has allowed for big government and tyranny. It seems, there are no easy answers to anything!
-
I don't have half my forms yet. I'm under the impression the IRS will be slower than usual processing. Whee!

money on taxes is great
-
I'm am totally ready for this tax season. I get a decent amount of money back and I'm gonna put in in savings until I decide what I want to do. Probably go on vacation this summer. I'm sooo excited.
-
I think everybody who is getting a refund is ready. Those who owe money to IRS isn't so happy.
-
well, maybe. Would be nice to have a lump sum of money. Or even for my kids to pay back the money I had loaned them. Other than that I get tired of watching people spend money on things that they don't need or can do with out.
-
Ugh. i hate figuring everything. I have tons of legit deductions and always after all that work i end up having to take the standard. frustrating.
-
I use taxact every year and am finding it confusing this year for some reason. anyone else?
-
I am kind of nervous about doing taxes I Have never filled them out before. But i am looking forward to getting some money back hopefully.
-
To those that are computer literate,i have been using a site called Tax Act the last few yrs.Very good in walking you thru your taxes and VERY affordable.Highly recommend it!
-
i am...woot.woot!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tax time--ugh! Ugh! ugh! This is the time of year I dread the most--trying to get all my ducks in a row on paper and all the preparation just to get ready to take it to the accountant. I spent all day working on tax stuff yesterday, not my favorite way to spend a Saturday.
-
I have always prepared my own Taxes using software. I usually file in March to ensure I have all my paper work together.
-
I am so ready! Could use the xtra money.
-
I finished everything Friday and filed Saturday. Whew!
-
Still hoping for the abolition of the IRS. :moneymouth:
-
Oh! Taxes and more taxes!
-
Have all my documentation, just need to organize and call and make an appointment to get them done, tax season is like winter for me, not a time of year I look forward to but something that will occur as long as I am on this earth.
-
I am...I just got all our W2, 1099 and 1098 so we should be meeting with our accountant tomorrow so he can start. I just hope I dont have to pay too much like last year. :(
-
I am done already!!!
-
Oh my goodness. I'm one of those that hasn't had to file taxes for a couple years either. This year however I'm filing and expecting something to come back to me. What a better time as well. I'm in the market for a laptop whoo whoo!
-
I'm gathering my tax documents and I will start the actual tax return in a couple weeks. I don't mind, because we usually get a decent refund.
-
I am ready freddy been there done that. I sent in my taxes to the IRS and the state yesterday. Everything was very simple this year so it didn't take long to prepare the forms at all.
-
I'm a first time VITA volunteer this year. I've done one tax so far, and I'm looking forward to many more to come later.
-
I would rather have a root canal than do taxes.
-
no not yet I am in no hrey to see how much I have to pay.
-
Why are taxes so high? Lol....
-
Congrats! I've already done my taxes online and gotten (and spent) my federal refund lol
