Post by: hensleyll on January 31, 2015, 05:42:38 am: hen should you stop trusting your childs dr.my granddaughter is three months old she still cant poop without some assistance like suppository ,juice or karo syrup in bottle dr says she ok not to bad yet and want run no tests or xrays she screams when she does go ,this cant be normal?

You're right, it doesn't seem normal to me, either. Start looking for a Pediatric Gastroenterologist and make an appointment. A baby shouldn't have to suffer this way.

Perhaps just moving her little legs for a while (like she's running in place on her back) to give her some exercise. That might help to get things moving. It's worth a shot.

And this sounds creepy, but you might try massaging her anus with some petroleum jelly on your finger. That feces just needs some encouragement to get rolling out. I'm all about trying all kinds of natural things.

Babies sometimes have problems like these. I hope you're not all too worried about it.

Well that's a good sign. My son had the same problem when he was a baby. Constipated for a little while then started going regularly when I gave him prune juice which he liked

She shouldn't need surgery for that. Just keep doing what you are doing and she should be ok.
