Title: My television broke
Post by: o2bnocn on February 03, 2015, 05:41:02 pm
The television I had broke. I am trying to save up for a new television. I looked at some new prices and they are a decent price. I'm happy about it.

I think some places still offer to pay your tax, only 4k televisions though Don't know if they are still doing it or not.

Interesting. I never ever heard of anything like that. I wonder if I should check that out if I get a TV in the future

I'm sorry that I don't live near you.  We have more TV's in our house than we can use!

I'm sorry that your tv broke - have you thought about buying a used one?  There are a lot of places in our area that have practically brand new tv's because everyone with money wants a flat screen or whatever.  Well hope you will be able to replace it soon.  All we use our tv is netflix via playstation lol.

I'm still using an analog TV.  They can be bought at a really good price at the thrift stores here in Cedar City.  As long as I use a digital converter and a decent indoor antenna I get about 27 channels.  That's enough for me and I don't have to pay for a monthly subscription.  I like being frugal.

Nowadays TV is not that expensive like before.  Maybe just compare the brand some brand are really better than the other.

We have a couple analogs as well as HD.  The analogs work great with Rokus & you're able to stream from the internet.   There are always ways if you want to do it cheap.   You could go on your local Freecycle & post a "wanted" for a television & I bet someone would give you an analog until you get the flat screen.    Good luck  :)

Wow!  That is no fun without television.  For instant, the news,  what happening around the globe, and the snow in many states.

TVs have come really down in price.  You can get a good flat screen for a couple of hundred dollars.  Just check the ads in your paper and compare prices.  Good luck!

TVs have come down in price as the smart technology has increased. A plain jane TV which is not to large of a screen size, usually runs around $200.Of course there are always garage sales. You can find one there real cheap. But how long will it work? BMaston12

I'm so sorry to hear that, I can't live without my TV. They have very good prices on the flat TV at Walmart. I also saw good price in Sears.

I had to break down and replace my analog after it gave up the ghost.  Fortunately it died in December, and I got a nice 32" for quite the decent price.  I use one of those flat wall antennas and get 30 channels, and my DVDs look GREAT!

I think that a broken television would be a blessing in disguise! I wouldn't bother replacing it.  This would compel me to work harder, go to the library, think of new ways to make more cash, create additional streams of income, enjoy my family, take my dogs for an extra walk, read, listen to music and if I had a true addiction to television I could always watch something on my computer. Even renting a video from the library to watch on my computer would put me in control and keep me from watching some of the mind numbing tripe that is currently viewed on television.  There are so many reality shows on television lately that are completely without merit. I have watched my children's IQ drop as they view television!
