Title: Water
Post by: melodylogan45 on February 21, 2015, 06:18:03 am
Do you drink 64 ounces of water a day? I try to, I have a 32 ounce cup that I keep on my desk at work. On the weekend I do not do so well with drinking all of my water.

It takes a lot for me to even sip a small cup of water. When I do, I like to flavor it with lemon juice or various fruits.

I have tried too. But I would spend all my time in the bathroom. Can't do it. I try to drink as much as I can. Here lately it has been all bottled water. Wish I could trust the drinking water in my city. Too bad. BMaston12

I'm working my way to the 62 ounces.   Recently started drinking an 8 ounce cup first thing in the morning, before I even have my coffee.  Wait 15 minutes before eating/drinking anything.   Also started having water with lunch and any other time I'm thirsty during the day.  Haven't reached the 62 ounce mark but I feel good about what I have been doing.   Seems easier for me in the summertime than winter.

I just heard on TV this past week that a doctor said you shouldn't drink more water than you want, it is evidently not all that good to overdo.

When I was working I drank a whole lot of water but now not so much but I'm trying to change my lifestyle as far as what I eat and exercise, so drinking more water is part of that change

I probably don't. I try but after a couple of bottles of 16.9 oz of water I usually have to use to the bathroom like nobody's business. Like seriously who wants to use the bathroom every 45 minutes?

I ama diabetic and they suggest not drinking quite that much. I average about 32 oz a day and I will drink a couple cups of tea as well. I do like  water but I tend to drink more flavored seltzer water than regular water. :peace:

No, I do not drink 64 ounces of water a day. The usual amount of water that I drink in a day is somewhere between 16-32 ounces.

I never measure how much I drink, but I know I drink at least 5 cups of water per day, sometime adding bottle of spring water. Can't imagine someplace without water, how people can survive.

I've done a lot better upping my intake of water. I like to drink tea, that's where most of my water comes from. Celestial Seasonings is a favorite. Flavors the water and makes it easier to consume more. I also made it a habit of having a cup or 2 when I wake up in the morning.

I basically do - it varies from day to day depending on how active I am.  If I do a lot of cardio, I'll drink more.  If I'm a bum just being a couch potato, I drink a little less.

I'm into sucking on ice  cubes, so in the evenings at home I will have a big cup put lots of ice in it and drink it twice. In addition, I go the gym and I have a 23 ounce water bottle that I finish most of the time. I think when the weather gets warmer, that we will all be drinking m0re water.

I don't drink as much water in winter time as I do during the summer months.  The Texas heat keeps me thirsty.  But I do drink more than the average person because I don't like tea, coffee or milk.  I only drink water and soda water so in a day's time I probably get pretty close to 64 oz.

I do drink quite a bit of water, but not 64 ozs of water consistently or usually ever. Too much liquid of any kind makes me more likely to go to the restroom and I'm not the best on containing my bladder.

You don't need to drink 64 oz per se, just enough to make your pee clear.  Sometimes I can't drink that much though.  I hate peeing every 10 minutes!!

I dont think I get a full 64 everyday but I do try to match a cup of water for every cup of coffee so I'll be I am close.  I also take a huge 30 oz cup of hot water to bed with me an drink it while I read my night time book.  They say this helps reduce your risk of stroke and heart attack but I am sure it is a dangerous habit cause you have to get up in the middle of the night.

It's good to have water with you all the time to drink all day long but it really is not necessary to drink 64 oz every day. You eat different foods every day that vary in water content so some days it's not necessary to drink so much. You should drink what you are comfortable with, don't force yourself

It would definitely be in my best interest to drink that much water.  I understand we can alleviate a lot of different symptoms if we're well hydrated.

If I drink coffee and consume the wrong kinds of carbs; which I sometimes do....

I have a difficult time drinking that much water.  This is one of those things where I know what's best for me...
but sometimes I do what I want to do, instead.

I think that I am really close to consuming sixty four ounces of water per day. I have an aluminum water bottle that must be about thirty ounces which I drink once per day. I also have two sixteen ounce bottles of water at work and finish off twelve ounces when I wake up and another twelve ounces just before I go to bed. Phewww...I guess I drink a lot of water!  I used to drink about four sixteen ounce plastic bottles of water per day but got to thinking how costly this was financially.  Over the course of a year, at twenty five cents a bottle, I was dropping about three hundred and sixty five dollars a year!  Not to mention the impact I was having on our environment! I have re routed that money into more investments...and now I am thinking that I will bring another aluminum bottle to work!

I just can't believe water can harm a person if someone over drink it too much, I thought it is safe and is unlimited of how much we drink. I read an article in face book, that a woman hospitalized and almost died because of drinking too much water. But she didn't eat for 3 days too.

In all honesty, I don't drink as much water as I should. Invariably I drink juice which is from concentrate, so I add as much water as there is juice. That way, I enjoy my drinking and I continue to want more juice. I drink Great Value no added sugar apple juice. The more I drink, the more I want, which is not a bad thing in this 101 degree weather.

I've been diagnosed with diabetes so I try to stay hydrated. I used to love the taste of our water (from a well) but when we got it tested, it had some bacteria in it, so we bot a black light and water filter. Our water was also very hard, which was great except for showering and the lime deposits so we put a water softener on line. Water has no "flavor" now, so I buy MIO water enhancer which has no carbs, no calories, no sugar, etc.

One little bottle gives me a lot of 8 oz. bottles of enhanced water. I usually buy the electrolyte or B-vitamin energy styles because my energy level is always low. When you think about it, MIO is pretty cheap, too. around $3 for one bottle but lasts a long time.  I love the Peach Tea, too, but haven't been able to find it lately. :(
