Title: Coupons
Post by: bettey13 on March 04, 2015, 09:53:20 pm
I'm trying to save money any and every way I can, considering I am currently not working. So, I've started clipping coupons, I'm not sure how much I'm saving,if anything. Wondering, what's the best way to go about this, and does anyone have any tips?

What I have done to save some money is shop at the 99 Cent store for food. I get a lot of my veges, fruits, potatoes and other stuff that would cost me more there and all other stuff I get at grocery outlet or the grocery store.

I love coupons, I usually compare prices and search for coupons on my phone before every purchase. The weekly flyers are great they keep me informed on sales in various stores.

I love using coupons.  Like previously said you can use your IPhone but if you don't have a phone like that, check all coupons in newspapers or magazines.  Maybe you can swap coupons with family or friends.

I'm in the same position as you, out of work for the first time in more than 20 years.  Going to a one salary household can be a problem.  Coupons are a big part of my life right now.   I check  /subscribe to all the coupon sites.  Make sure I check all fliers, especially for BOGO offers and then search for the coupons to match.   One of our grocery stores have a Senior day on Wednesday where seniors get an additional 5% off the total.   Also joined Wal-Mart's savings catcher program.  Might not be a lot but every little bit helps.

I don't pay full price for anything, although the sale price is really the price marked up by 300%.  I shop at the dollar store and has been doing that for years.

wish I could help you but never got the couponing bug.  i may use one or two a month if that much but only if its for something I'm buying anyway.  i don't think i have enough patience to do the extreme couponing thing
