Do people take them? Thoughts?
-
I do, twice a day at the suggestion of my doctor.
-
Do you notice a benefit?
-
i've got a brother in law that takes them, but really dont see where he's any more healthy than before he took them?
-
I have been taking fish oil for awhile now.I also recommend pro-biotics as well.
I believe the natural stuff helps but we still need to do our part with our diet, exercise and self control of bad habits.
-
Personally I do not take them and I feel they are a waste of money especially if you eat right. So rather than pop a pill, I would be checking out what foods give me the necessary omega 3 fatty oils that we need to live on - you might want to try that first.

I'm 47 and I started taking them regularly about 3 years ago after my finger joints started hurting. My Doctor recommended it. I noticed the beneficial side of taking Omega 3 Fish Oil Supplements just a couple of weeks later. I used them for many months and then I stopped because they were so expensive and I couldn't afford them. Since then, my joints started hurting again so in answer to your question, yes I believe they work!

Penwoir...yes i hear ya.Sometime expenses add up.
I have noticed tho you can find deals.Ya know like 1 buy 1 one get one free in CVS etc.You can find em online too.Saving $$$ always helps and you can still get your products.

We started taking them last year but I couldn't stand the after-taste so we quit after a few weeks. Wasn't really long enough to notice any benefits. I've been told by friends that there is other pills you can buy that don't have the fishy after-taste but those do cost too much for our budget.

I think if you are informed about what constitutes a healthy diet and can afford to eat it, that is the best way to receive all the vitamin and minerals you need. However, many of us are either not educated, willing, or can afford to do so. For these reasons, it is important to take the right dosage of supplements. Either educate yourself or check with your doctor, especially if you have any kind of condition. Omegas are very important for supporting heart health, including high blood pressure and triglycerides.

Yes!
-
I take them occasionally...but not regularly
-
I take flax oil which is an omega 3 oil and I have read quite a bit about it and it is said to be better than fish oil. I also take a number of other natural supplements. Much needed to take care of our health and I learned that the hard way.
-
my doc suggest i take them to lower triglicerides..never knew fish oil helped with that.nice

There are 3 things we need in our diet; protein, healthy carbs and healthy fat. Omega 3 fish oil supplements fall into the category of healthy fat.
The fish oil supplements thin our blood to help with circulation and increase our HDL; which is, the healthy cholesterol. When we have medical tests we want our HDL to test at 50 or higher and fish oil can help us achieve that goal.

-
I take a fish oil pill everyday and have been doing so for a couple years now.
-
thanks for the insights/responses everyone...I have started taking some, but not every day...it's hard to tell if they're making a difference, but I have heard it can take a while. I'm young, so I'm trying not to get too dependent on them...
-
I took them when I was pregnant because of how good they are for you, but I stopped after that. I think this is one of those things that wont hurt you either way. They are good for you, but do you NEED to take them? probably not (Unless recommended by a doctor then yes I'm sure they have their reasons for telling you to do so, i'm just referring to the average healthy, in good shape person) If you do take them though, I don't think "Do they work" is a good question because it's one of those things that you would probably end up noticing that after long periods of time and like I said everyone is different, everyone will process them differently. and everyone takes them for different reasons.
-
burpy and fishy after taste even with the odorless ones...take them but not at the recommended dosage
-
I take them because my doctor recommends them, but I don't really know what they do for me exactly. I certainly don't feel any difference between taking them and not taking them.
-
These Omega 3 Fish Oil pills have proven health benefits and are frequently recommended by doctors.
-
I take them everyday on the suggestion of my eye dr ... apparently they are good for your eyes as well as your heart
-
They realized that Omega 3 prevent Alzheimer,it doesn't lower the cholesterol as they said but it is good for us.I take Collagen and Chondroitin+Glucosamine for my joints.I can see a big difference with them.
-
I take 2000 mg a day. My doctor recommended it.
-
I use to until...when I would burp and I could taste the fish. Turned my stomach and I never finished the bottle.
-
I take them every now and then to manage joint pain. I have less pain as a result.
