Title: Do you believe?
Post by: kimber62372 on March 08, 2015, 09:37:03 am
Do you believe in life after death? Do you believe in signs from the after life? I do... I recently encountered something and I do not believe in coincidences, there are no such things. About a year ago I was driving and on this vehicles plate, the beginning was "DTA". I immediately thought of an old friend (1st Internet boyfriend in 1995) and i wondered how he was. The next day, same thing... Driving, saw a bumper sticker "DTA".... this guy used to tell me this and it was part of his email address. So now i felt sick to my stomach and started to cry... I had an awful feeling that he was dead! Years prior I tried searching for him online and did not find anything. Although I found his brother 5 years ago on Facebook, he ignored me. So I let it go until about 3 yrs ago, I looked on the brothers Facebook page and find out his mom died. I felt so bad at the time. I wrote him an old fashion letter and mailed it to his last known address. No response! I even emailed him and nothing. There was a chance he moved out of state because I remember him telling me this. 3 days ago he crossed my mind again... I searched for him online, the 1st thing that came up was his obituary and then his Facebook page that he created in 2012. He died in 2013 at the age of 36, 2 yrs ago this passed January and im still in shock BUT I do believe he was sending me a sign that he was not here any more and that he was OK. What are your thoughts?

The bible supports the dead are conscience of NOTHING!!God told Adam he would go back to dust at death,non-existence.Jesus said Lazarus was sleeping before he resurrected him.Lazarus spoke of NO heavenly bliss or hell when Jesus brought him back to life.

Evil spirits influence against what Gods word teaches. If you support the bible you know the truth and it sets you free.If you dont you fall victim to the ruler of this world <satan>.Remember he offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world for an act of worship and Jesus said many times,my kingdom is NO part of this world.

So much supernatural happened after my husband died that it would be too much to even try to write but yes I believe.  I am a christian and I dont know how it all fits together but I know several year ago I kept getting the strong impression to call a woman I used to work with - not overly close but we liked each other.  I finally called her & got her answering machine which still had her voice message.  Later in the evening her husband called and informed me she had passed away.  Weird things happened wish I had the space and time to tell all the weird & cool things that happened with my husband.

I most definitely believe. My son who was 8 passed away this year in Jan. I kept praying for him to give me a sign that he was ok (which I knew in my heart he was but it would be nice to "see" something to let me know) and the snow started to fall and I looked out my window and saw 2 heart shapes in my driveway and I knew it was from him telling me he was ok.

I agree with you.  I've had things like this happen to me many times.  I have my own stories to tell.  Here's just one of them.  Back in 1996, I was already living in the great state of Arizona.  My only niece also decided to come to Arizona.  She had a newborn baby boy, my great nephew.  After my niece moved out here, her Mom (my sister) decided she was going to, too.  I believe at this time, my younger sister and her family were living in Delaware.  This left my Mother and brother in NY.  Since most everyone was coming out west, my Mom decided it was time to sell her house and come out this way, too.  She and my brother put the house up for sale and by mid-1997, she had a buyer.

I was talking to my niece on the phone one day about my Mom's move, and all of a sudden I just broke down crying.  I had the most awful feeling of despair and death, I couldn't control it.  My niece couldn't believe it and asked me what was wrong.  I told her.  She told me not to worry, everything was alright and her grandma and uncle would make it to Arizona just fine.  While she calmed me down, I just couldn't lose this feeling that someone was going to die.  That feeling stayed with me for the longest time.

A few months later, my Mom and brother DID make it to Arizona just fine.  They stayed with my oldest sister because she had a big house, and the search began for their own home.  My niece was also living with my sister at the time.  I was bit more relieved since my family made it safely.  When my Mom and brother were living at my sister's home just THREE WEEKS, my NIECE died suddenly.  My brother did everything he could while they waited for emergency services.  She was 27 years old, so yes, I DO believe that someone was trying to tell me because I knew someone was going to die.

I'll go one further.  My daughter was just a couple of years old when my niece passed away.  She had a toy phone that she just loved to play with.  A few days after my niece passed away, I was in the kitchen putting things away and my daughter was talking on her toy phone.  All of a sudden she comes into the kitchen just chatting away!  I stop dead.  I got such chills it was unbelievable, so I ask my daughter "who are you talking to?"  She tells me "I'm talking to Stacy!"  Stacy was my niece.  I asked my daughter "Well, what is she saying?"  My girl says, "She says that she's OK and don't worry about her."  Now, no two-year old actually understands the circumstances of death and that they'll never see this person again, but I sure understood!  It was my niece telling me that I was right and wanting me to know that she was OK.

Do I believe?  Yes, I do.  I've had so many experiences like this, no one can convince me otherwise.  I knew since I was a kid that my father would die before he ever got to retire.  Many years later, he did die just a few months short of retirement.  I knew when family members were hurt in accidents.  I have to say, too, that my Grandmother had this ability and much more, so my family members are believers, too.  It's a gift.  Treasure it.

Wonderful stories! And I am so sorry for everyone's loss. And what are you trying to imply Hitch? A yes or no with a story behind it would have been suffice... lol... I'm catholic and every religion has their own beliefs and perceptions. Every Sunday I recite the Nicene Creed prayer at mass. And in the very last verse it goes something like this "We look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and the LIFE of the WORLD to come, Amen." Everyone perceives it differently but I know there is more to come once we leave our physical body. MissPlayMate...I am so sorry for the passing of your son. My son is also 8 yrs old and I would be devastated as I'm sure you are but I can tell you that your son is safe and is not suffering. He will always be with you and you know in your heart that he sent you that message. Just close your eyes and you can see and smell him. God bless to all. I'm glad I'm not the only one who believes... Lol.

6 After Solomon observed that the living know that they will die, he wrote: “As for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.” He then enlarged on that basic truth by saying that the dead can neither love nor hate and that “there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in [the grave].” (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10) Similarly, Psalm 146:4 says that when a man dies, “his  thoughts do perish.” We are mortal and do not survive the death of our body. The life we enjoy is like the flame of a candle. When the flame is put out, it does not go anywhere. It is simply gone.

There are the scriptures.....RIGHT before your eyes in ANY bible. And you disagree??Examples of Adam going back to dust,Lazarus being asleep,Solomon telling us condition of dead.

Do you honestly think a God of love would torment his creature in a fiery hell and NOT let his creation know the truth thru his word???Yet you disagree with it??

So many different opinions here...most going against what bible teaches.Again the decision to decide good from bad as A&E succumbed to.

How about you relax and stop preaching to this thread and don't you DARE say that I do not support the bible. You don't know me! What I do not support is the ignorance of yourself preaching bible verses because you disagree. Fine, if you don't believe that is fine and those are your own belief's. Stay out of the thread if you are going to continue to preach to us or what ever it is you are doing. If you don't like what you are reading, then buh-bye!. No need to bash it. Where I come from christians form a unity & are not against each other. So you have a blessed day and may the angels watch over you because they were once in this life time in physical form.  :o lol

I have to laugh (hahaha) ...and I never said I preach to an audience. I am a parishioner and I will leave you with this:

Matthew 10:28 - And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

John 11:25 - Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.

PS...Dear Lord, Please forgive the ignorance of some people, for they know not in what they preach and I sense anger from within. Guide them in the right direction and lead them into a beautiful path of righteousness. Thank you Lord!

I will pray for your soul! :)

Good day to you Sir or Madam (Don't know your sex, sorry!) :)

When you said you recite the whatever i thought you meant you got up and read blah blah.Do you feel you will get a hearing repeating it over and over as Jesus said MANY would think?

I was brought up a catholic.I can remember the mass being said in Latin. They should put it back in Latin.I still had NO idea what the hec they say in english.

Be my guest to worship a god that would torment his creation in a literal fiery hell.

Jehovah is the TRUE God and a God of love.

Worship Mary in your religeon.Absolutely a joke.Bible doesnt support that.

Bow down to concrete dead slabs.Idols!!Bible supports God is a spirit NOT a dead piece of wood or stone.

Ill stop there. You are part of Babylon the GREAT.Find your discernment to understand what that means. And with your very words in a post you said you dont support Eccl 9:5.So you dont support bible if you think theres an afterlife...yet you write scriptures!!!

LOL...BTW i am a man

God would not be a just god if He did not punish the evil.

"Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord." Roman 12:19

I'm not really sure of the actual question, but if it's do I believe in ghosts or somesuch, I believe the spirits of the departed go either to their reward in Heaven or punishment in Hell. I don't think they cavort with the living.

So many comments  and I forgot the question but I didn't believe for looong time.10yrs ago (and I don't know why me) they(my dead neighbors)started to come into my dreams asking me to tell their family that they are ok and what to do with their clothes ,where the clothes are located...They said they call it visitation. Last summer my grandmother came to me because she wanted to see her house and I was the only one who had the KEY(I never had the key of her house when she was alive). She said she was happy, she talks to my grandfather but they can't see each other. When I woke up I realized that she didn't talk about her house key and that's why all these souls come to me without asking.I want to stop but I do not how.The last two were mean and they didn't talk to me.So I believe something is there....

I, too, have had an unexplained experience.  The day I found out I was pregnant with my daughter (30 years ago), my 17 year old cousin (Jenny) got killed in a car accident.  A year or so later, my aunt made my daughter a doll using Jenny's clothes, hair ribbons, etc.  I was letting my daughter play with the doll one day when I overheard her talking to the doll.  She was calling the doll "Jenny".  My daughter never knew my cousin, Jenny nor did we know anyone else named Jenny.

JJ...you dont think non-existence is punishment enuff?

Obviously you dont.So then worship a god that is a sadist and must create a literal hell. That certainly isnt a GOD of love as bible says he is.Its a ploy used by satan to make Jehovah look that way.Remembersatan is the father of the lie and he blinds many as he is doing in your case now.

Death is everlasting sleep.NON existence. When Jesus resurrected Lazarus he spoke of being nowheres else.Because he wasnt. It backs up what Eccl 9:5 reads.Conscience of nothing.NON existence.RE Adam,God told him at death he would go back to dust. Not anywheres else.In Ezekiel there is a scripture, the soul that sins dies. The soul is what you are now.Adam became a living soul when created. When he died, his soul died. Its not separate as many are blinded by the satanic doctrines in this world. The whole world lies in power of wicked one and he transforms himself into an angel of light. The cause for much of the distress in this world.Go read in Genesis right before flood.Evil spirits taking on human bodies and causing an offspring called the Nephillm as they had sex with the good looking woman. It shows you how dangerous these eveil spirits are and the cause for our world being what it is.

No matter what any book, including the bible, might say, it's undeniable what people experience in THIS life.  My father, on his death bed, knew that both me and my sister's first children would be BOYS.  His exact words were:  "The two girls, the two boys, and the two blue babies."  At first, and this wasn't for another couple of weeks after he passed away, I thought that reference he made was to ME because a couple of weeks after he died, I lost TWINS and never even knew I was pregnant (3-1/2 months pregnant)!  My Aunt TOLD me I was pregnant at my father's funeral and I thought she was crazy!  After this pregnancy, I lost 4 more.  It wasn't until my younger sister got pregnant that "I" finally had a viable pregnancy!  Both of our boys were born 2 weeks apart FIVE YEARS AFTER my father died.  The ONLY time in my life I had a viable pregnancy was when my younger sister got pregnant.  In all, I was pregnant 11 times throughout my lifetime.  I had a stillborn daughter in 1992.  In 1995, my sister and I were pregnant once again.  Our daughters were born 4 months apart.  After this pregnancy, I was never able to have another child and lost them all.

Its your business whether you support bible or not.I support it and God warns us against divination because you are mingling with his enemy <satan>Go read bible and u will see many instances where satan and his hordes are behind much of this.Jehovah DIDNT give man the power to predict the future. We can have good hindsight and foresight and discernment but the bible is clear Time and unforseen occurrence befalls everyone and the whole world lies in power of wicked one.

Well, I can tell you one thing.  I believe in JESUS CHRIST.  I DON'T believe in books or churches or the MEN who run those churches.  To me, these churches are just another way to try to control what we believe and think.  No, thank you.  I'll keep my Lord, Jesus Christ, beside me and be on my merry way.

Lol... Please do not listen to this Hitch person. The bible has nothing to do with this thread. They think they are all high and mighty and has nothing better to do than to preach what they don't understand. It's OK, we forgive you. Thank goodness for the ignore button. Have a wonderful time preaching to yourself because obviously no one is listening to you.

This Kimber person speaks quite silly. The bible has LOTS to do with answering what happens after death & why man dies.

I'm with you.  I believe he felt fondly about you and wanted to let you know he remembered you, had moved on and may well be looking after you.  :angel11:

My dad contacted me about a month after he died.  He came to me with vivid, full sensory memories of his favorite meal.  Something I hadn't cooked in years.  I had to break down and make it.  Then he tried cherry pie.  Mom made good pies, but I'm not fond of cherry.  I told him enough with the food, come to me in my Tarot cards.  I did a reading and got a definite message of support from him.  We even had the proverbial "moment" where in a mere moment we had perfect communication, instant knowing and all our issues were resolved.  Since then he sends me pennies, sometimes more, when I'm down or have challenges.  I've been studying numerology recently and find that he and I both have an 8 life path.  That's the money number and he sends me money - chills.

Death is only an end of the physical body.  It's a moving on back to the spirit realm to process what we learned and prepare our next journey.  It's not really a loss.  :peace:

JJ...you dont think non-existence is punishment enuff?

Obviously you dont.So then worship a god that is a sadist and must create a literal hell. That certainly isnt a GOD of love as bible says he is.Its a ploy used by satan to make Jehovah look that way.Remembersatan is the father of the lie and he blinds many as he is doing in your case now.

How is non existence a punishment? It's lack of reward at best, a lack of punishment at worst.

As I said God would not be a just and righteous God, if He let the guilty go free unpunished.

Do you really think serial killers & rapists, Adolph Hitler & Osama Bin Laden don't deserve some kind of punishment? And that God creator of all things, isn't justified in punishing them? Jesus spoke or of the terrors of hell than the joys of Heaven as a warning of that dreadful place.

But you continue with the Watchtower even after all I've posted before about them and call me blind.   ::)

Are you a Jehovah's Witness?  Just wondered where you get all your teachings from.

Yes Penwoir....i support the WB&TS and Jehovah as TRUE GOD and HIS kingdom that govern heaven and earth thru his begotten son Jesus Christ.

In response to you JJ....and i am not sure why i even bother......

Jesus did not teach that God would maliciously torture the wicked forever. Rather, Jesus said: “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NAB) Why would Jesus imply that those who did not believe in him would die? If he really meant that they would live forever, suffering misery in a fiery hell, would he not have said so?
The doctrine that hell is a place of torment is not based on the Bible. Rather, it is a pagan belief masquerading as a Christian teaching.

I definitely believe that our spirit continues to live after it leaves our physical body.  I also believe that we take our mind and emotions with us so we have memories.

It's like ending one chapter of our existence and beginning a new one.

Now it all makes sense, we have a Jehovah in the house. Please Hitch, I am not here to bash your beliefs and your religion, so have some respect on others insights and point of views before you start preaching to us! Just like I do when I get a knock at my door around dinner time (don't you people eat?? Lol) at least twice a year, I open the door to see 2 young boys handing me a pamphlet, asking me if I know who Jesus is and what our purpose is. My response to the kind, young boys is this: yes I know Jesus, he lives down the road and he landscapes my yards. Thank you for stopping by and I will surely read your pamphlet. Lol... I'm catholic, in not a preacher, im human, we all make mistakes... So I guess that means I'm Satan and will go to hell in your eyes. Give it a rest already....I don't know what you're trying to prove. You have a fear of knowing the unknown.

Hey JJ lemme ask you 1 more thing.

Satan is Gods biggest enemy, correct?Where was he when Jesus was on earth as a man?Certainly NOT in hellfire. He couldnt offer all the kingdoms of the world from there right?

I know you are probably gonna answer its not his time to go to hell yet or something like that.

Keep re-writing your bible. And please stop bashing the WB&TS.They are in 236 lands preaching Gods kingdom FREE and i am sure there will be over 20 million attending the Memorial 4/3 too.

How many are attending your nonsense?

And i wanna give a shout-out to all that defend death and its a passing over blah blah.

Go to a funeral of a parent that just lost a child to death and preach that nonsense to them to make give them hope.Make sure you have a suit of armor on before so.

When I woke up I realized that she didn't talk about her house key and that's why all these souls come to me without asking.I want to stop but I do not how.The last two were mean and they didn't talk to me.So I believe something is there....
you have a gift Gaby... you will learn more as time goes by... Many blessings to you.

Hey Kimber...nexttime you put a topic up be prepared to hear that truth.

"Truth" only means something to you as long as it is YOUR truth.  You are so willing to close your mind and to let others make your decisions and choices for you that you won't stop and truly take into account what someone else has to say.  You automatically assume they are wrong and you are right.  I've read a lot of posts on this board, in this thread and in others, where people have given you solid and valid information and made credible arguments against what you are saying and you still insist you are the only one who knows "the truth".

Your figures about how many Jehovah's Witnesses there are means nothing and doesn't add any credibility to you.  There are 1 billion Hindus.  Eight percent of the total world population are Buddhists.  Twenty-three percent (about 1.6 billion) of the total world population are of the Islamic faith.  Fourteen million adhere to Judaism.  There are over 2.2 billion practicing Christians (including the Catholics you apparently hate so much).  Of the total world population, 9.6% are non-religious and 2% are atheists.  As of August 2013, there are only 7.9 million (with an "M", not a "B") Jehovah's Witnesses in a little under 114,000 congregations.  Your army seems pretty small compared to other systems of belief so if numbers is the only validation of "truth" you have to flog, you're in trouble.

Sigh.  "It's obvious you can't deal with it so what can I say."

Now, to remain ON TOPIC...

I most definitely believe in life after death.  I, as well as close friends and family, have experienced a lot of things that has made me a firm believer that death isn't the end.  It's not final and nothing.  The soul is eternal and doesn't go to nothing.

I was extremely close with my maternal grandmother.  I worshiped the ground she walked on.  She was as much of a mother to me as my mother.  She was a best friend and confidant.  She was my champion and my hero.  There wasn't a day of my life where I was apart from her.  After her diagnosis of Alzheimer's, my mother and I cared for her until she died in 2007.  I was devastated when she passed.  A light in my world had gone out and I was lost without it.  After she passed, I always felt like she was still with me watching over me and that made me feel so safe and so good.  Periodically, I'd have dreams where I talked with her and my grandfather (he passed in 1997; he and my grandmother died on the same day 10 years apart almost to the minute).  Sometimes they would tell me things and other times it almost felt like a "catching up" time.

Three years ago, in January 2012 our house burned.  The morning of the fire I was the last person out of the house.  Once getting the rest of the family and one dog out I had, without thinking, gone back in to try and rescue other pets.  The smoke was thick and I heard the ceiling in one of the back bedrooms fall in but I didn't feel at all like I was in danger.  I felt safe.  I stayed in until I couldn't any longer.  I firmly believe she was with me every step I took.  Of everything that was lost in the fire, three things hurt me the most.  I lost my grandmothers ashes, a turquoise and silver ring she wore every day of her life and a suede coat with a mink collar my grandfather had given her on their first anniversary.  When I was a child, every time I got sick and ran a high fever my grandmother would bring that mink collar into my room to make me feel better.  It was always so soft and so cool and it felt so good on my feverish little face.  I loved that collar and named it "Mr. Minkie".  That's one of my favorite childhood memories, that collar.

A few weeks after we got settled into the house we're in now (which is about 500 ft from the old house) it was time to go up and go through the rubble and clear things away.  The night before we decided to start doing that I had a dream where I was sitting at the kitchen table in the house that burned talking with my grandmother.  She told me that she and Mr. Minkie were gone but that the ring was still there but it wasn't quite in the shape I would like it to be.  It had been damaged because something else had melted onto it in the heat of the fire and she described the damage.  She told me a few other things to look for that had survived.  When we went up and started digging around, I found every single thing she mentioned and they were all in the condition she had described.  It was a small comfort in a bad time.

I still have dreams where I talk to my grandparents and I hope they never stop.  There are times when I still feel like my grandmother is there with me watching over me.  I don't see my grandparents as evil spirits or anything bad.  They are my angels, especially my grandmother.  She was my angel when she was alive and now she's continuing that job and taking care of me until we are all together again someday.  I'm just fine with that.

I do believe that the dead can still communicate with us. They are still in this world only we cannot see them. They probably still feel the same desire and intention as they used to be when they were once alive. But now they are only spirits. That is my take on the subject.

1 last thing StBern.....not that care but,Math 7:13 reads...New International Version
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

Plus remember only 8 people survived the flood.Noah and his family. The numbers thing was meant that Gods organization gets much support and growing and i was comparing it with LORD Knows what JJs beliefs are.

But the majority will perish when Jehovah brings this satanic system down to its knees soon because as you can see by many here most dont want to be accountable to our creator. And again i use bible to back up what i speak so if you dont support the bible as i see many dont thats your business.

You can cross check bible prophecy with history and see the bible being divine in predicting the future.

In 66 CE the Roman governor of Syria,Cestius Gallus surrounds Jerusalem and then suddenly and for no apparent reason withdraws his troops. This was a sign Jesus gave to his followers to leave.

Sadly NOT everyone listened. In 70 CE Jerusalem fell. Many died, many held captive.General Titus finishes the job.

This is just as Jesus foretold: “Your enemies will build around you a fortification with pointed stakes and will encircle you and distress you from every side.”—Luke 19:43.

Famine soon grips the city. Armed mobs plunder the homes of the dead and the dying. At least one desperate woman kills and eats her infant child, fulfilling the prediction: “You will have to eat the fruit of your belly, the flesh of your sons and your daughters . . . because of the tightness and stress with which your enemy will hem you in.”—Deuteronomy 28:53-57.
Finally, after a siege lasting five months, Jerusalem falls. The city and its grand temple are plundered and burned and then torn apart stone by stone. (Daniel 9:26) The dead total some 1,100,000; another 97,000 are sold into slavery.* (Deuteronomy 28:68) Judea is virtually emptied of Jews. Truly, it is a national disaster without parallel, a watershed in Jewish political, religious, and cultural life.*
Meanwhile, the Christians in Pella give heartfelt thanks to God for their deliverance. Their faith in Bible prophecy has preserved their very lives!

Please cross check it if u like

Some of the people who posted on here need to read Luke 16:22 - no offense - but I am kind of staggered by people who don't have an open mind about anything.  It is fine to know what you believe but to me it's another to think you know how to interpret everything in the bible and everyone else is wrong.  Oh well - again no offense but its like people who say that people aren't going to recognize anyone in heaven because we are going to have a new name but another verse says "we'll know as we are known" people need to realize we don't know everything and we should to a point take a live and let live attitude and not be so sure we know everything.

One who preaches thinks thoust are not following same creed, we come from the same clothe, one body, one soul. Who are we to judge anyones beliefs? Thru the grace of God he answered those questions <and many more>thru his earthly organization.

Dont knock their preaching work.If your house was on fire while you were sleeping and someone outside noticed youd want them to bang your door in wouldnt you?

People claim to follow Jesus. What are they basing it on?The bible or something else?Where else do we find info on him?

Many have beliefs that go against bible teaching in this thread. Then they get annoyed when you show them. You cant serve 2 masters!!You cant support bible and then this world.Jesus made it clear his kingdom is no part of it and satan rules it.

Lots of demonic nonsense is what is believed here................sorry!!

Generally I am a live and let live kinda person. But what I have trouble with is when Jehovah's Witnesses spew information with rather sounds like it is supposed to frighten people into believing. My God, is a God of love. He loved us so much that he allowed the only perfect person that was ever born to die in our place in order that we can have forgiveness of sins which we committed. To me, that sounds like perfect love. What more can you do for someone that give your live for someone that doesn't deserve it! That's love.

It is possible. I once had a dream when I dozed off fishing with my hubby. Our dear friend had died unexpectedly at 44. He used to go fishing with us a lot. He woke me from my dream state saying Wake Up. And I suddenly woke up to a storm with heavy wind. We had just enough time to get off the water before the rain really started coming down. I don't think it was coincidence. BMaston12

WELL Blacksheep,if its based on the bible,go read KJV Psalms 83:18 for starters......God has a name!!

Lots of demonic nonsense is what is believed here................sorry!!

hitch0403, I don't expect an apology from you or anyone else.  You believe WHAT you believe and HOW you believe it.  There's nothing wrong with that.  The only problem I've got is when others who believe a certain way try to push that belief on others.  Isn't it enough if people believe in God and his existence?  I don't understand religions who say, "it's our way or you're going to Hell."  That's just so stupid.  Moreover, why do some religions have to knock down your door to push those beliefs in someone's face?  You've got a "church."  If someone is interested in wanting to know more about it, they will come of their own free will.

Penwoir you have it all wrong.Christendom by teaching the literal firey hell theory makes God look like a monster.Go to a meeting and see for yourself that love abounds. And also remember we are all imperfect too.Even Jesus apostles argued among themselves.

"But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”Matt:8-12
If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell. Matt 18:8-9
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.  “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” Matt 25:41/46
The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42 They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matt 13:41-42
This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous 50 and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matt 13:49-50

That's what I found spending 5 minutes thumbing through the Gospel of Matthew ALONE. Need I devote more time to finding other passages where Christ spoke of Hell and punishment? Or would you prefer to actually READ the bible and not let the Watchtower spoon feed you everything you want to hear?

It's a common misconception that Satan is "Chief torturer" in Hell. He's active here in the world now, and will be punished at the End by being cast into Hell for his evil deeds. So yes, you pretty much got the answer you were expecting of me.

And for the record, There are degrees of punishment in Hell. Someone who does fairly "minor" sins will be punished lighter than say someone like Adolph Hitler, who brought death & misery to millions.

He can't seem to see that the Watchtower is a cult. It's sad because I believe Hitch truly wants to serve God, but he's not serving the God of the bible if he's listening to the Watchtower's teachings as he does.

STOP everyone!!!  This is why we are in America and defend our freedoms, including the freedom to worship and believe as we want.  I don't believe bitterness and righteousness is a part of what God and Jesus wanted.  No wonder there is such divisiveness in countries such as some of those in the Middle East.  This forum is NOT the place, and it all started from a simple question.  This discussion has proven that religion and politics should not be discussed if you don't want intolerance and anger, which brings out some of the worst in us on occasion.

Simply put,Kim asked a question,i answered her based on using the bible.I get badgered for being taught bible thru WB&TS.I dont mind having friendly discussions about bible or religeon, but i see the mock WB&TS gets.

Fine,if you dont agree you dont agree.I answer a lot of lifes questions using the knowledge i gained from bible thru them.

There are people in this forum that have supported what i have been taught and there are always new ones coming in.

Let me tell you something WB&TS have taught their supporters when they go door to door now and come upon those NOT interested to LEAVE.....thank you.

Its quite simple.Again stop badgering me for my knowledge what i have been taught. If you wanna kindly disagree thats fine.

In Kims case, how do you say you support bible and then i show her a scripture thats in HER bible too and she disagrees with it.......LOL!!!

Sorry JJ.......God isnt that cruel for a literal hell to exist.Death is non-existence.That is symbolic what Jesus speaks of.

Scholars have debated whether or not Jesus meant Hell was a place of literal flames and so forth. But that really isn't important. The point is the Bible teaches the eternal spirit of the just & the unjust. The just rise to reward, the unjust to punishment.Hell exists as a place of eternal separation from God and you're swimming against a sea of scriptural evidence if disagree.

Blacksheep,it all depends on if you support bible or not.

The catholic religeon for starters has a lot of dead concrete, wooden statues that are bowed down to.Clearly idols.God forbids it.

Mary is held in a position to be prayed to.The bible says Jesus is only mediator to God and no other name for salvation.

Seriously,Need i go on?

New International Version
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Hitler,Bib Laden etc go to a hotter spot?
If you ate meat on Fri you only get a hot foot?

Also did you know in Revelation and Job to use 2 books in bible,Satan is in heaven?Man he gets around. Then hes thrown out of heaven in Rev and confined only to earth.Guess its NOT his time to go to hell yet...eh?

So what part of hell are Adam & Eve?They sinned while perfect and turned the whole human race into sinners. Are they in the hottest spot?

Lemme address this too as ill be serious now

I have friends that are gay.But if i ever have to tell them its a NO NO in Gods eyes i have no problem.

47 “The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. 48 But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

Pretty clear to me. The person who kicks his dog and cheats on his taxes is not going to share the same punishment as Osama Bin Ladin. God is Just after all.

The Bible never said Satan was confined to earth.Just that he is no longer a member of the Heavenly Host. His power to accuse was strongly broken when Christ came to earth. “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Luke 10:18

Rev 12:12....Parallel Verses
New International Version
Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short."

The first commandment says to,Love God.....how can i expect someone to obey that commandment when MOST of you cannot even call HIM by his name.Of course a god that would send his creation to a literal hell isnt loved and thats why its no biggie for him to do just that.

JJ you really make me laugh when you keep bringing up the divinity of Jesus. You DISAGREE with just about everything they teach and you always bring this up.

“A God Exacting Exclusive Devotion”
The Bible clearly indicates, however, that our worship—in the sense of religious reverence and devotion—must be addressed solely to God. Moses described him as “a God exacting exclusive devotion.” And the Bible exhorts us to “worship the One who made the heaven and the earth and sea and fountains of waters.”—Deuteronomy 4:24; Revelation 14:7.
Jesus certainly occupies a pivotal role in true worship, one worthy of honor and respect. (2 Corinthians 1:20, 21; 1 Timothy 2:5) He is the only way through which we are able to approach Jehovah God. (John 14:6) Accordingly, true Christians do well to direct their worship only to Jehovah God, the Almighty.

Didnt Abraham question Gods decision to destroy Sodom?Jehovah let Abraham find out for himself. Its easy to see why Jesus would be worshipped.Afterall HE was just like his father. If you see me you see the father he said.BUT Jesus was created so does he deserve exacting exclusive devotion as his father? The bible answers.Men are imperfect too.The apostles fought over who was greater.

You bring it up for the wrong reasons. You wanna find fault. You find ALL their teachings NOT acceptable in your book so quit *bleep*-footing it.Fess up!!

I for one believe, there are so many signs. I went to a John Edwards seminar last April, it was so interesting. Nobody from my past came through but the ones that did really intrigued everyone. It was something else being there, and there was only about 200 people there at the most so it wasn't like what you see on tv with the auditorium rooms.

It's one of the weirdest things isn't it? lol I think about it all the time.  Like i wanna believe sometimes because of the feeling of Earth being able to sustain life and things seeming created.  I don't subscribe to any religions though and don't take anything from the bible seriously as in I need to follow it nor the book of Mormon or the Quaran lol.  It almost seems like there is more sometimes or something we don't know but I would call myself an agnostic because I go off of evidence.

Fusion...LOCK THIS, please!!!

You must be a catholic?

No, actually I am NOT a catholic.  But this was getting nasty and you don't know when enough is enough.  Believe what you will, but be tolerant and respectful of others' beliefs.  Sometimes when you don't agree, you just need to let it alone and realize when you've said enough.  And for me, this is enough said in this thread.

Janice i have no problem if you or any others dont support the bible.I have had discussions with JJ before and even tho we dont agree on lots of things i think they have been civilized.

Again,Kim started this topic and i answered her based on bible knowledge...NOT mine.

Wake up and see its quite a godless world to begin with and as i have said many times many dont wanna be accountable to what HE says in his word.I happen to support it.And i speak it with AUTHORITY!!

You arent the only one here. There are those that read and dont comment as the topic has lots of hits.

Cmon, dontcha think i know that you and others here dont give a darn about the bible.I back up what i say with it and its referenced.Stop being lazy and look up the scriptures to see i aint pullin em outta mid air.
