I only need to see the doctor once a year to renew my prescription.
I called him this morning and he hesitated a bit in recognition.
I got to thinking about just how many patients a doctor sees.
The written records and files help him or her keep track.
It must seem like a "sea of faces" day in and day out.

I enter charges for doctors to bill the insurance and yes they see many patients in their day. If you only go once a year though it doesn't surprise me he may not remember you at first.

How many patients for a Doctor?
How many Doctors for a patient?
It depends where you live!

I see the dentist every six months and even the dentist does not remember me.

That's one of the reasons I don't like modern medicine. The system is about making money and therefore seeing as many patients as they can cram into day. They don't take the time to really get to know their patients anymore. :(
