an elderly woman moves into Assisted Living. She is a smoker. She gets lost easily. She has to learn her way around the new building.
Administration will give her some time to acclimate herself to her new home.
There are no personal aides to walk with her.
If she cannot come downstairs and find her way outside to the smokers area, she can't go downstairs and outside for a smoke. She can't smoke upstairs either.
She does have a sister. Maybe she'll come over to help her or hire someone.

That's sad that there are no aides to help her. Maybe she will need to find a more fitting assisted living home!

That is surprising, in PA there have to be aides in all assisted living homes. Assisted means the residents need assistance, hence aides. Check into that, there may not be alot (not like in nursing homes), but there should be aides.

Time for her to stop smoking.
You're never too old to stop. Plus, it's not a cheap habit.
