so i would buy my meds from their pharmacy :o ???where do you go when you cant get an honest answer from the company your suppose to trust? they were gonna charge me double what i can get my meds from another place i feel overwhelmed . what do you think!

Why are you surprised? All companies lie to you to get your business or to keep your business. Next time I have to get a refill it will be a new year and I will be going back to Walmart. I can get 3 months for $10.
Don't ever make a decision quickly or if you feel you are being pressured.

We have 2 pharmercies here where i live and both are so overpriced, the only 2 we have. They do not give any discounts. Only 2 in town so they have it made. I would buy my med.s all at Walmart or
Walgreens if i could. But they are 80 miles away and i am not always there at the right time to get meds. It is the pits. And i cannot justify driving 160 miles when it would not be able to recoup the cost of gas and lunch. Oh well i guess that is the price i have to pay living in a small town. If it was not for my dad i would move.

Of course, they just want your $$$$$, that's why you got to shop around for another company that's going to give you the service that your paying for.
-
You might see if you policy would allow for a pharmacy mail delivery. I have that on certain meds (those that have to be refrigerated), but maybe you could pursue that and find something cheaper. I dont know.
-
You have to do what is best for you.
If you can get the prescription cheaper elsewhere, go there. Tell your insurance company that you can get the meds cheaper at xyz & tell them you need to go where it is cheapest & see if they will price match. If not, go where you need to go.
My father gets his prescription mailed to him, it is cheaper than if he were to go directly to the pharmacy he is required to, Kaiser - oh & it is the same pharmacy: Kaiser on the mailing, & pick-up. That might be an option for you as well.

You don't have one at your Walmart? Walgreens is about 4 times the price of Walmart. You can purchase a discount card for $20 a year but even with that you still pay way more than you pay at Walmart. Eventually the price of all meds will be so expensive we can't afford them. That is the goal. To crush us all. We are fixing to be lower than the worse of the third world countries. People laugh and say this is the US that can't happen. It is happening all around us. I work a part time job 10-12 hours a week. I have been looking for a job for over 3 years. There are no jobs. Prices are going up on every thing. And more and more people are living off a broke government. Things cannot continue the way they are. And we are welcoming in millions more welfare bums every day.

I know people who refuse to pay for it themselves even if it is as little as $4.

i think that the insurance company has an obligation to tell me the truth. not lie to me for my money. its not like i can go get any health insurance i like this is the one offered to me thru my job.

Yet another reason why insurance should be tied to the individual and not to their job. Your employer doesn't make decisions as to what foods you purchase and where you purchase it from, so why should we expect our employer to do differently when it comes to health insurance.

Well, look at the bright side, at least you thought about checking other places for their prices and found a better deal elsewhere. A lot of people wouldn't even think to do that and just pay whatever price they ask. Give yourself a pat on the back and congrats on a job well done! PS: You can't trust anybody anymore, LOL.

No way! An insurance company that lies...I don't believe it! Just kidding. My father was an attorney for thirty five years and was forever suing insurance companies. I had a car accident that ripped my leg open and he told me that the insurance company would call and offer me half of what it was worth. I had twenty five thousand dollars in medical bills and had missed six months of work (at about four thousand dollars a month). Sure enough, the insurance company called and offered me ten thousand dollars if I would sign a waiver. The attorneys settled, out of court, for one hundred and thirty five thousand dollars with a promise to pay for all additional complications arising from the injury.
-
That's terrible! I would tell them that you are on to their little game, and if you don't get some honest answers you will switch companies!
-
You are smart to shop around. I feel all should always get a second and third opinion about anything now days even if it's medicine or a procedure.
-
how awfully. Have you thought about extra insurance for medicines.

You do not have to get your health insurance thru your job. You can buy it where ever you want to. If your employer pays your premiums then I say take the free insurance and shut up. My employer offers insurance but it's pretty much worthless. So I don't have insurance thru them.
-
It is necessary to shop and compare prescriptions just like anything else. Some companies make it difficult though :(

Getting a second and third opinion is not that easy. The insurance company will not pay for multiple different trips to the doctor for the same thing just to get a different opinion. If you want to pay for it yourself you could do it.
It's funny because there was something on the news this morning about getting a second opinion and how doctors don't care if you say you want a second opinion and they welcome that. LOL. No they don't. My doctor would get mad if I told him I wanted a second opinion. And has got mad at me in the past for asking questions about a medication he gave me because I didn't understand something.
-
Let him get mad. It's your health and your life and your money! If he's so confident of his skills then he should welcome another opinion. Maybe he might learn something! Who knows!! Doctors can't keep up with all the new information in the medical field. Tell him he's only human and humans make mistakes all the time.
