Which do you use to keep you cool in the summer. I alternate in the high 70s mid 80s I use my fan. If it is close to 90 or higher I turn on the ac
-
It's so hot here in South Florida, I use my AC when it's in the 80s. I don't run it for long. After two hours I turn it off. Repeat as necessary.
-
We put the central AC on and keep it on until the heat breaks.
-
ac definetly but i do have fans to i don't like to sweat so i keep the ac on 74 and the fans going to keep it cool
-
AC because my mother doesn't take the heat well. I could make do with fans though if it was only me.

Renee10, that's really sweet!

I don't really get such hot weather over here, so I don't have an air conditioner at home (only in the car) or a dedicated fan (other than a portable battery run version). If I did have such weather conditions at home, I favor an AC to cool down the whole house.
-
I use the AC to keep me cool in the summer. I use the fan also while the AC is running which makes it even cooler.

Love to have the windows open but when it's get in the high 70's we have to turn on the air...afternoon sun is right at our front door...
-
I use the ac it is really hot or is there is a lot of humidity I like to sleep with the fan on and a window open
-
I use the ac a lot because it is real hot, and even my computer shuts down if it is too hot!
-
Central heating at home. I have a desk fan at work though.
-
It depends on how hot it is, it I'm sweating while sitting, then I'll turn on the AC. If it's just hot, then I'll put on the fan (it uses less electricity).
-
I use both 8)
-
I like ac better than fan but do to costs I combine the two!
-
I prefer both, depending on the temperature. There's an AC in my bedroom and the fan is in the living room. Sometimes I wish there was an AC in the living room because it gets very warm in there and that's where I spend the majority of my time. I'm going to research those fans that not only blow cool air, but supposedly draw the heat out.
-
I live in Houston where it gets insanely hot, so both!
-
We have right now a tower fan.
-
It depends on how hot it is. Fan when it's bearable, A/C when it's just plain deadly
-
My home has central air. A fan only circulates the hot air in the summer which makes it worst.
-
I live in central florida and my sons are on the hot natured side lol so they run the ac 24/7 in the hot season/summer. I run my fan at night but that is more for the noise of it than the cooling.
-
We use both to circulate the cooler air
-
I use both, but if it's really hot like 80-90 degrees out the AC is getting turned on, but like today here near St. Louis its 64 degrees out so I have my space heater on to keep me warm lol.
-
I love the breeze from a fan or if there is a breeze outside coming in thru the window.Sometimes it gets too hot and humid tho when you need the AC!!
-
I only turn on the AC when the temp in the house gets to about 80 in the afternoon which means it's 90 something outside. My trees help keep the house cooler but they have taken a terrible beating the last couple of years. I sometimes use a fan. I do like a breeze thru an open window.
-
Well, where I am the temps get as high as 110 so definitely air conditioning!!!
-
I like ac.because it keep all the house at the same temper.
-
It depends on how hot and/or humid it is as to whether I run the fan or AC.
-
I use a fan to keep cool.
-
Fan is used at 70-85 degrees.. While AC is used when it is 90 or above (or if it's 85 and it's humid)
-
AC!
-
Fortunately I have AC in my apt and it works well :) I usually keep fan running when I turn it off/at night though to keep the air circulating
-
i use both. I don't turn the AC on until hubby can get help putting it in the window, which normally happens around July.
It's really hot and humid here already this year but I'm keeping the doors closed, and blinds drawn and using just fans. I have a ceiling fan that I use and a table fan directed at hubby's chair.
I don't like humidity, but I can take the heat most of the time. Hubby can't. If it's below 75, sometimes I'm cold, sometimes I'm dying from the heat (all due to my poor circulation from my surgeries). :silly:
-
Here is the south, we live with ac year around. I set it a little high and use ceiling fans as well.
-
Big ac person here in the south. I use to be able to manage with a fan or two but since menopause hit........it's ac all the way, all the time! :)
-
I use both. I turn on the fan to circulate the air while the ac is on to cool down the place faster.
-
Well, it's pretty much always over 90 here in the summer. Way over!!! But the ac isn't working so I have fans going.
-
If you do not have AC, some stores like Costco, Sam's Club and other sell small portable AC units.
-

In Texas we use both. The fan cuts down on the AC usage. It also gives direct air movement. When it is 110 outside you have to have both. Sometimes we even use ice behind the fan to blow cool air. You have to be innovative to save on the high cost of electricity. BMaston12

ac all the way I have had my on since April
