I was recently laid off and I've been running around looking for jobs, particularly online, but it makes me feel like when I apply online, my application goes off to some imaginary place where it is never actually looked at by the people hiring. Have any of you had good luck in applying for a job online or do you think getting an application in person is better?

i got layed off back in feb.. 4 months prego too, i just got a proved for unemployment june 26..now that was a fight..anyways i got to put out 3 jobs online..and i got people to call me back but wont hire me prego..so i ll never know what could happen!!! good luck :thumbsup:

if you make a resume (you can google resume templates
and other sources for help with building your resume) you
can upload them to all kinds of places. there's monster,
snagajob, careerbuilder, to name a few. this has helped
me quite a bit.
also on those sites, you can search your area for newly
listed jobs and apply straight from there. don't forget
a cover letter too, if you're sending a resume. there's
templates for those too, and tips on what to say in them.
you wouldn't think it, but cover letters are really important.
they've landed me a few call backs because i sounded "friendly" !

Unless you have a Kick-A$$ Resume, the only job you're going to find online is minimum wage, the competition is fierce. The way to make some real money is with Fusioncash and something to feed to earnings into to make it compound. I'm retired and needed extra cash and went from clicking for pennies to $6,000 a month with no out of pocket expense at all in about 8 months, so it can be done. Who wants a job anyway?

It is better to apply in person. This way you can talk to the manager directly. Just make sure you are dressed nicely. You may not get an interview right away but you never know, plus if u look nice while turning in ur app they will take you more seriously. good luck!

My last couple of jobs over the last few years I've found through Craigslist. All these jobs were legit and more than minimum wage. Not sure what your experience is or what you are looking for but my previous jobs were teaching ESL and I'm currently a flight attendant. All these jobs were found on Craigslist so I've had very good luck with finding good jobs online.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys, especially the one about the cover letter. I was sort of grazing over that, but now it looks like I should probably take that part a little more seriously.

Unless you have luck at being a "needle in a haystack", you would be wise to listen to oldbuddy, he has some great advice. I found him less than a week ago and just implemented a few of his tactics, just fusion cash alone has made me some money that I will take the earning to put into something that will compound those earning into $6000 or more per month. Oldbuddy is the "wiseman"; listen up! :thumbsup:

Hi I was unable to find advice/tactics to do this. What is the something that will compound those earnings into $6000 per month? Even if I only earn a part of this amount, that sure would be great. I am one of those people still looking through the haystack. The company I worked for closed one of their locations a year ago. Still looking for work. Thanks for any help or points to get me started.

i would apply in person if it's not too inconvenient for you, and if the place will accept in-person applications. i know some places won't anymore :/
i feel that way, you could make a good first impression...even if you don't hand it in to the person who'd be interviewing you, if you're polite and professional to whoever you give it to, they could say you were if the interviewer were to ask what they thought of you. you also have the security of knowing it got where it should have.

I've had luck through Craigslist and temp agencies. Finding work from home jobs through online seems impossible without running into some type of scam...sites like FC seems great for extra pocket money!

I've had luck through craigslist but who knows in these uncertain times, right?
Just be sure to follow the instructions given in the listing. When I look for employees that's how we weed out the people who either can't read instructions or don't care to follow them. It speaks about your attention to detail ;D
If it says specificall to apply only, do that. If they ask you to apply in person, do that. If they say to call and ask for "__insert name__" ask for that name (in our case it's usually a made up name so that they know what your calling about and that you can follow instructions).
