My daughter keeps talking about this, can anyone fill me in on what is going on with this?

Once upon a time, they were good friends... They both came out into the limelight at about the same time and often complemented each other's work, and would sometimes be seen / interviewed together by the celeb. press. However their friendship started to turn sour after Taylor broke up with John Mayer, and Katy then picked him up and has been dating him on and off ever since. Then after Katy's California Dream tour in 2012 ended, some of her dancers chose to audition for Taylor's Red tour for the following year. But then Katy started organizing for her new tour for her Prism album, and she contacted those dancers to see if they'd like to come back. The catch was that the tours overlapped a little, so it would mean that they'd have to drop out of Taylor's tour early in order to join Katy's tour instead. Since the dancers had been with Katy for a longer period of time, they felt they were closer to her so they agreed to join Katy's tour and leave Taylor's one. Taylor even admitted to Rolling Stone Magazine that her latest single "Bad Blood" was written in part over that incident where Taylor felt that Katy had sabotaged her tour. Then when Katy was named to perform at the Superbowl, she had asked her tour director to help her with the performance. The problem was that he was also tour director for Taylor who had given an ultimatum that were he to help Katy, Taylor would fire him and not use his services again. Now both stars have admitted to the feud, and it seems like it is still going strong.

Lots of drama between the two and publicity for their tours equals to more $$$$$ for them.

who cares :o

i do not care for taylor swift to me she is a spoiled little twit she doesn't have a body she can't sing and she thinks she is so cool not in my books and katy perry i really do not know about her except that my girls like her music

I'm really surprised that there's so much overlapping of the two stars in terms of dancers and tour directors. It seems there's more than enough good dancers and directors available to go around. They need to stop drawing from the same pool of resources first of all. There are a lot of unemployed people in the entertainment industry I'm sure they can find good people among them that would love to work.

lol yeah I don't really care but my daughter talks about it all the time lol

Thanks lvstephanie. I was curious about the brief mentioning I have been seeing about the bad blood between them. At first I thought this was just media trying to hype something. Too bad they're not getting along. I like both of their works.

I saw something about the song "Bad Blood" being related to this feud.
-
It seems strange to me that two people with so much money are concerned over what seems like petty items - who is watching the dancers at their concerts. It is all about ego.
-
I did not know they were not getting along. I do not like Taylor but I do love Katy's music and surprising to me so does my son.

It had something to do with boys and dancers.

Yeah, I've heard about this and I asked the question. My brother & sister pretty much told it like that.
Seems pretty petty to me. Arguing over John Mayer? JOHN MAYER? This isn't Tom Brady we're talking about! John bleepin' Mayer! The guy looks like Jughead Jones!
Anyway, Swift seems the type to hold a grudge. It served her career well,as most of her hits are reportedly written about past breakups.

This is honestly the first I have heard of this. It's kind of hard to imagine taylor swift having a feud with anyone other than an ex boyfriend.

Taylor swift comes off as an angel but I bet she is just another pretty high maintance diva like all the rest of them.
