Title: Love Each Other and Stop Judging Others
Post by: tgreen20 on July 21, 2015, 06:58:01 am
Before you start to say something negative about someone or point out what they are doing wrong....Take a deep breath, pray now think about what you can change in yourself. If you spend less time focusing on what others are doing wrong you will have more time to work on yourself. Pray for others and help them out when they down, don't continue to beat them up when they are evidently already down.
1 Peter 4:8
8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
Matthew 7:3-4 “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? 4 How can you think of saying to your friend, Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye.

I am in total agreement with you.  I have always tried to change myself to adjust to a situation instead of always trying to change the situation.

Life is too short. Don't waste it on negative activity. Judging is one of them. You will find life a lot more enjoyable without being judgmental. BMaston12

Yes, it is a lot of wasted time to be negative.  If possible, just forget and go on.

It doesn't make much sense for people to judge others because NO ONE is perfect.  Negative verbal criticism is mean, those words can really hurt people.

Wisdom for the Tongue
‘IF ONLY I could take back what I said!’ Have you ever said that to yourself? Yes, we all struggle to control our tongue. We can tame virtually any animal, the Bible says, “but the tongue, not one of mankind can get it tamed.” (James 3:7, 8) So should we just resign ourselves to defeat? No! Consider some Bible principles that can help us to gain more control over this small but powerful body member.

● “In the abundance of words there does not fail to be transgression, but the one keeping his lips in check is acting discreetly.” (Proverbs 10:19) The more we talk, the greater the risk that we will say something foolish or even harmful. Indeed, the unbridled tongue can be like a fire, rapidly spreading hurtful gossip and slander. (James 3:5, 6) However, when we ‘keep our lips in check,’ or think before we speak, we take into consideration the effect our words may have. In this way, we become known for discretion, and we gain the respect and confidence of others.

I find myself more stressed out and tenssed when I tend to judge others because I know its not right to judge, then later I feel guilty I did that, every year I set a new years resolution to always be thankful and never complain or judge, I'm still working on it.

Wise words.  Seems like with social media the world has become a meaner, crueler place.  I am shocked somedays by the hateful stuff people write (especially in the name of being a "good Christian", what?? did they really say that).

Thanks, newbie. You are so right. Here's a portion of a bible verse from James 1:19 to take it a little further:

But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.…

This one is one of my very favorite verses.  :star:

Practice what you preach.  Some people are too stupid to know that they are doing stuff wrong and need it pointed out to them and ironically they seem to like that.  if they don't too bad.  Oh so if a car is going down the street the wrong way and is about to hit someone you wouldn't point that out?  That is why bad things happen because people don't say anything 8)

Or love your neighbor as yourself.

if people learned to love instead of hate we could live better lives.
