When you purchase a product that you do not like, is not working well or whatever, do you keep the product and write it off as a loss or do you take the time to either take the product back to the store or write the company about the products send them the receipt for proof of purchase.
-
i would take it back to the store it was bought at they have to give you your money or exchange it
-
I would send it back if it weren't what I expected or didn't come in handy for me at all.
-
Depends on how much I spent, if its a small item its probably not worth it but big items should be returned.
-
I return stuff that's not right for me. I very careful what I order online, because I hate spending money on return postage.
-
Just return it. I don't think we should be forced to live with a bad product.

They actually do not. It depends on their return policy. Some places have signs that say "all sales are final". If it doesn't work that is one thing but saying I just decided I don't like it is totally a different thing. Of course if you get mouthy and start screaming and causing a scene they may do it just to get the person to shut up.
The old saying of the customer is always right doesn't get it these days. You start causing a scene and you are likely to be told to leave the store and to not come back. I have seen that happen several times.

If I purchased it in a store-I take it back. If I ordered it online-I return it back with a full refund.
-
I haven't had to do this in a while thank god. I just hate going through the hassle. Sometimes the customer service associates can be really rude about it too.
-
I always think what is practical if on the store i will return it but if online and then cost me more, I just consider it a lost.
-
Depends on how much I paid for the item.

I can see both sides of this. Yes sometimes employees at stores can be rude but at the same time so are customers. You have so many people who steal items and then return for a cash refund or store credit or they scream at the associate because they WANT cash. The stores have policies and the associates are suppose to uphold them. If they do not then they get in trouble. But when the customer gets loud and mouthy then management will give them what they want. Like I said before, just to shut them up. Then the associate doing their job looks foolish and the customer makes it known to them "see I got my way".
Dealing with the public is a nightmare of a job. People who have never had to work customer service do not understand. Or people that have not done it in the past 10 years or so. People are unreal. It amazes me at how many people will get to the register of any store and ask for a discount. News flash - cashiers are just that - cashiers. They cannot dole out discounts.
If there is truly a problem then returning it should not be a problem. And if you have a receipt showing you actually paid for it then it def should not be a problem.

It depends on what the product is. I usually take the product to the store for an exchange or return. Have a great weekend!
-
If I bought the product in town or with in a 50 mile drive I would take it back. If I ordered it online I would contact where i bought it and let them know what is going on with it and see how they want to handle it.
sometimes they will help you send it back to them with free shipping or sending you a new one when they get the not working one etc,,,, sometimes it may be just a loss and don't buy from them again :(
-
It depends. I almost always return defective products, but if the store is too far away and the amount is small, it's sometimes not worth the gas costs.
-
It really depends how much I spent on it. Sometimes if I am unsure about a purchase I buy it, don't take the tags off (or out of package) and give it a week to think about. Then if I am still unsure, I will return it because clearly I wasn't excited enough to use it. (If that makes sense)
-
i try to return it but sometimes it is hard to return a purchase especially one that was made over the internet
-
I take it back to the store.
-
It just depends. If I've bought it online, sometimes I can get a refund without having to send the product back, since it's no good.
-
To me it depends on just how much the product cost. If it was under $20, sometimes I would bother to return it and sometimes just throw it out and take the loss but, if it was more than that - definitely TAKE IT BACK!!!!

southernhorizons said it just as would. Sometimes you just take the loss because it isn't worth the cost to return/exchange it.
-
Most times I do.
-
I sometime keep it if I buy it online and I have to pay for the return. Sometimes it's not worth sending it back. If I buy it at a local store I do return it if I can.

If the item is broken or does not work I take it back. I never scream and or rant at the employee. having worked in retail for 15 years I find being very polite with the employee will usually get the problem resolved. I know how it worked for me at the store. Besides it is rarely the employees fault that something was not right. I keep all tickets for awhile incase I have to return it for awhile and then pitch them. I f you do not have a receipt for it you normally will only get the sales price back on it. Store policy.

I always, always return a product to the store I purchased it from if I'm having any problems whatsoever. In fact last year, I purchased some horse chestnuts that were imported from Italy, and Walmart were selling them. I'd never had them before and I remember my father telling me he'd had some as a boy, and they were a real treat! So I purchased two boxes and when I got them home, they were filled with mold. I took them right back to the store and Walmart gave me a 100% refund, no questions asked.

I do it all the time when I have home improvement, sometime it is not a right product, why keep it? return it and get the right one you need.
-
99 percent of the time I return it. Once in a great while I get stuck with something. >:(
-
I take the time no matter what it costs
-
If I used the product more than a month after purchase I usually keep it. If I don't like the product after one week, I return it.
-
My husband will call companies/manufacturers and demand returns, lol. He is good at it. I tend to not be a returner, but i don't buy a lot either.
-
No I do not keep something that does not work. I take it back and get another product and hope that the new one will work. If it doesn't I take that one back and ask for my money back.
-
I always take my damaged goods back to the store with receipts. Beware; not all goods are refundable especially electronic goods.
-
I always check the return policy and I always return a damaged item. Most honest retailer will want to know if there is an issue with items they sell. They have agreements with manufacturers for return of damaged goods.

I am extremely frugal Thanks to over six years earning at Fusion Cash! I do at least fifteen minute worth of due diligence on every new product that I purchase. If it does not live up to its claims or if I am disappointed in any way I take it back immediately. I had a pair of Raybans for twenty years that broke when a baseball hit me in the face. I sent the broken glasses to Rayban's customer service with a truthful letter and they sent me a new pair. I messed up a pair of Oakley sunglasses, sent them in, and they sent me back a new pair as well as a coupon for a free cleaning at the local Sunglass Hut. I was not as happy with Montblanc when the would not replace a fountain pen that my father had paid a good sum of money for.

I'm in the process of getting a new dishwasher replaced. It took three weeks for it to get delivered. It has leaked ever since we got it. We have been waiting over two weeks now for someone to fix it.
-
definitely return the product!
