Title: Kmarts
Post by: melodylogan45 on October 11, 2015, 03:35:29 am
We went to kmarts and looked around and tried on shoes and boots, but
we did not make a purchase. As much as I use to really like Kmarts, it just does
not feel the same anymore. Walmart and meijers and now menards have really
made a difference. I will go to kmarts again.

Do you still shop at kmarts?

I did not even know that K-Mart was still in business. As you so eloquently pointed out, newer (and better) stores such as Wal-Mart and Target have provided much stronger competition to the extent that K-Mart may become a thing of the past relatively soon.

I was surprised to see a K-Mart in my local area. I seriously thought they went out of business. Same thing with TJ Maxx.

I really don't shop at Kmart that much at all now because I love Walmart and Target a whole lot better. Walmart and Target have better sales, and clearances for me.

When we were kids, going to KMart on Sunday afternoon was a social event. I don't think we bought very much, but we had fun looking around and hanging out.  I haven't shopped at KMart in years.

I don't shop at Kmart much any more. When I was child I went there with my parents but then in later years we discovered other stores such as Walmart and Target and started shopping there.

I very seldom go to KMart anymore, I usually go to Walmart.  That's rather sad now that I think about it.  I have to go right past KMart to get to Walmart but I usually go to Walmart for a couple kinds of dog food.

Kmart is not on our standard list of stores to visit but we still go there once in a while.

I don't usually shop at Kmart. It's too far from my home and it's not worth the drive.

There is not a K-Mart where I live.  There is one close to where I work but the few times I have went in there they mostly have junk that is way over priced.  I can't afford to shop there.  Walmart is way cheaper.  And this K-Mart is kind of dirty.  Maybe just because the building is old and run down.  But it makes people not want to shop there.  Then the shelves are not stocked and what is there is messy.

All the K-marts have closed around my area, so I shop at Walmart.

Kmart and Sears have really impressed me lately. I often buy my kids shoes/boots there b/c their selection is wonderful.

We used to shop Sears and K-Mart all the time but with the merger between the two, first they closed our local Sears, then a couple months later, the local K-Mart. Sears had the "old-fashioned" service, which I really liked. They were well-informed in the products they sold but many times I would see them standing around because there were no customers. It made me sad.

We had to pass a Wal-Mart to get to Sears and K-Mart. I don't like Wal-Mart. Only ever 1 register open and no one seems to know anything.

The malls in my area are all dying. Stores are closing and new ones that move in don't seem to have the business.  We just got a Kohl's about a year ago but I never hear from anyone that shops there. Sadly, I think the internet is killing brick and mortar shops and that's a shame.

I went into Kmart for the first time last Christmas and was quite impressed with their Christmas department. The ornaments looked a good quality and the price was certainly reasonable, they even had some wonderful items on sale. I then moved onto the tupperware section of the store and purchased some of what I thought was good quality tupperware and bought them home to wash and clean them. I poured my first batch of soup into one of the containers and was horrified to see that none of the container lids fit properly. When filled with hot soup, I also realized the plastic was very thin and bendy. The whole batch of tupperware cost $7. I came to the realization that KMart was not the same quality as JC Penney Macy's!

I live in a small town and we do have a small kmart/sears here. But I think it is going to go out of business. Then we won't have any where to shop except for family dollar, dollar general and our overpriced grocery store. I know they want you to shop in your town , support the town but when we can save a bundle going out of town that is what we will do or I will order a lot online.

I do not think Kmarts are as busy anymore and I have a feeling the one near me wont last too much longer anyways. I think the Little Caesers inside did more business than the store.. I think things are more expensive there unless it is really on sale. The Walmart here the employers are rude and are not trained properly.

I don't like Kmart their clothes and shoes are cheap and cheesy and their other products are expensive.  I like Walmart better.

Not really too much, I heard that brands are threatened by walmart that if they let kmart sell their products, then they won't sell them at walmart, or they have to put higher prices on them.

I practically never go to Kmart, because they have a limited selection of items, and their customer service is horrible. No matter how long the lines are, they only have one cash register open, and they always have problems that hold up the line! Plus, if you have to return something, they always cheat and give you a lot less than you paid for it.

Walmart displaced Kmart because it has better customer service. Walmart stores look better inside too.

KMart is a meer distant memory in my past! 80's & 90's KMart was the best store in the world, now my preference is Walmart and I think I am seeing less and less of Kmart. They are further away from me. Walmart is more of a convenience and way cheaper! Happy $hopping! :)

I go to check things when looking for something or other, I like the fact that they still have layway.  I just put a new Xmas tree on layaway and like the fact that I can pay something every  week.

But I agree it does not feel the same and their clothing as not the best looks really cheap same as Sears, which bought K-Mart, I guess K-Mart will be going out of business soon they are not doing great.  But I will miss their layaway .

We only have one Kmart left in our area and it takes about 40 minutes to get to it.  It isn't worth the drive to shop there to me.

KMart left the Houston market about a decade ago. Don't really miss it. But a former KMart around here is now an indoor mini-golf, go-kart place now.

Expect KMart to go the way of the dodo soon.

I know of only one KMart in our state and it would take about thirty five minutes to get to it which really kills all hope of savings when I account for the gasoline and time expense it would take to get there.  My son, and I, went to a KMart back in February because we needed a cooler and we happened to be driving right past a KMart. Kmart does not seem to be as popular any more.  I think that Target and Walmart have really surged to the fore front of large inexpensive department stores. Our family typically goes to Costco for all of our purchases.  The merchandise seems a bit more sturdy and we have never run into a problem when returning something.  The customer service is pretty good and Costco has locations seemingly every where.
