Title: Allergy and sinus problems
Post by: melodylogan45 on October 17, 2015, 02:55:38 am
Anyone else suffering from allergy and or sinus issues. I just bought some
Specific medication that I hope will help me. My issue is not real bad yet because I started off taking
the cough syrup for multi symptons and that helped. There are a lot of people at
my place of employment that are worst.

How are you dealing with it?

This has been a terrible allergy year. Some regions are worse for allergies than others. I live in S.Jersey which has a reputation for being terrible for those who suffer from  allergies.
Many years ago I used to take allergy shots but my doctor said my allergies had improved so I do not need them any more(yah!). I take Zyrtec. It is expensive put fortunately it comes in a generic.

I've been dealing with sinuses and chest congestion all year. I don't know what's causing it and medications aren't working.

I have this junk every year, at the same time. I take over the counter meds that do little to help. It drives me nuts.

Yes, year round. It wasn't so bad when I was living in Utah but then 2 years ago we moved to Colorado and it's been worse. I think it's because there's no humidity here. The thing that is helping me right now is some store brand cold medicine. It has some acteaminophen, nasal decongestant, and an antihistamine. Oh and it's the day time stuff. The night stuff works really well if your nose is what's keeping you up. I would also recommend a neti pot.

Don't have allergies right now... The way I deal with it is avoid going out at days of high pollen or the day after it rains

OMG, I have been having terrible sinus headaches the past 4 days.
Thinking about going to the doctors to get some proper meds since the other the counter stuff isn't working too great.

The only thing I can take is the zyteric and have had to double the dosage.  They have really been bad this year with all the weeds we have had. Had a lot of rain and in some areas the weeds were and still are over 8' tall and now with the mold that come along with the dying weeds and grass it is bad.  The shots help but not mas much as hey used too. Oh well guess I will live with it even though sometimes I wonder.

Gosh yes. I have had a sinus infection going on 3 months now. One nostril burns at times, I hear crackling noises and occasionally get a wiff of a smell. I have tried everything from otc sinus medications, antibiotics and even the neti pots. Nothing has worked for it.

Yeah, my youngest son suffers from allergies for a good 6 months of the year and we do need to keep on top of it because his allergies sometimes trigger his asthma. However for the last 6 months his doctor has placed him on a steroid inhaler and this, together with his allergy medications, seems to have really helped his condition. I think he's only needed his inhaler about twice in the last month, which is superb.

Meds alone will not work. Wear a face mask and apply some Vicks at the entrance of you nostrils. Vicks will stop particles entering your respiratory system.

We have started having Santa Ana winds, they always seem to get my sinuses going.  I have been fighting a little bit of a cold, so that just made it worse.  The winds are suppose to be gone today, so I am hoping for the best.

I take over the counter meds sometimes, drink a lot of tea with lemon and honey some seasons are worst then others, but at least I do not need to take prescription medication, I use a steam inhaler with vicks sometime and that helps.
