Does anyone use this site? If so, what has your experience with it been?

I have seen advertisements for Angie's List but never used it. Sorry I can't be of help. :(

I used it for a carpet cleaning deal...they did ok but I was really hoping for more than ok

:) No, I live in a small town and we just call the person we need. :)

I tried it but was unimpressed .. they auto renewed me but did refund me my money after I called and asked to cancel my subscription
-
No, I find it absurd to charge someone money for finding out if they have a good reputation or not. That's why there is YELP and Google. Sorry Angie, your list is not for me! lol :P

In my opinion Angies's List is just another gimmick to make Angie rich and I'm not falling for it. I have lots of friends that recommend all I need and do it because they are friends and not just to make a buck.

No because they charge you to use their site, which is a bunch of ....well you know :)

I don't get what is so great about Angie's List, why would I pay a subscription if I may need a recommendation for say a plumber once in a blue moon. Doesn't seem worth it.
Plus, people leave false reviews all the time online, so trusting services based on reviews, like on yelp, is sort of just plain dumb. Competitors leave bad reviews for their competition frequently; people tend to leave negative over positive by nature because they want to vent; people can leave positive for themselves, family or friends without even using the service. There are no regulations.

I have not used Angie's list but it is good to hear what all of you have to say about it.

Angie's List is not a good use of your money because you can get the same information for free online.
