Who makes more money, a Doctor or a Lawyer?
-
I would guess lawyers make more money.
-
I would have to say Lawyers I have heard they make about $300.00 an hr or even more depending on the firm.
-
It's about the same. I know of Partners making $200k and depending of the doctor's specialty, they can make that as well.
-
That's way too vague of a question. What type of lawyer? What type of doctor? It really depends.
-
I believe the answer depends largely on the type of doctor or lawyer.
-
I agree with those who say it depends upon specialty. However, you have to be able to communicate with your clients/patients and create return patients and word-of-mouth referrals if a lawyer. A doctor who is arrogant and talks down to his/her patients and a lawyer who can never be reached, overcharges, and loses cases won't be successful.
-
I would say lawyers, but if the doctor is a specialist they might, it may also depend on the area they are located in as well.

I've worked for both kinds of those people; physicians and attorneys. They are just people like us; some good, some bad; some very, very bad, and some very, very good. :angel11:
Starting out, they are poor because they have to pay for all that schooling. :o If they are long in their practice and/or pretty darn good at what they do, they can make a good living. :star: Very few are really wealthy.
:fish:

Doctors don't make as much as they once did. I think that lawyers make more money. Have a wonderful day!

How can some be very nad, what makes them bad?

It's a relative term. People are going to fall somewhere on the good to bad scale in all walks of life.
-
Doctors make more money than lawyers. They are able to collect their fees through health insurance. Lawyers often have to chase down their fees and sometimes do not get paid.
-
I think it would depend on the specialty they are in... some doctors make a lot more than lawyers, but some lawyers can make more than just plain doctors too.
-
I guess lawyers do unless you have your own show like Doctor Phil. They both really work long hours.
-
I think it depends on the type. I have heard of doctors making up to $300,000 a year but they work a lot.

They are bad when they talk down to their associates who don't have the same amount of experience as they. They are bad when they talk about their clients behind their backs. They are bad when they scream at or otherwise demean their secretaries/assistants. They are bad when they charge clients/patients for things they don't need to charge for and make up stuff to charge for.
I have worked for some doctors and attorneys that I would have done anything for had they asked. :in-love: They treated me like I was a partner and had good judgment. The great ones had great Christmas parties and bonuses.
I have also worked for attorneys that made me cringe just to hear their voice because they were cruel and demanding and went through secretaries like Grant went through Richmond. :'( It takes all kinds. Nuff said. The worst one I ever worked for, I heard, ended up committing suicide years later. :-X

they both make more than the common laborer like me
-
On average probably Doctors, but I would guess a top paid Lawyer makes a lot more than an average doctor.
-
Either way they both make a good amount
-
A dr. has a steady income. Lawyers only get paid when they have a client. Dr. always have a client if they are a specialist in what they do. Lawyers have to wait certain amount of time to collect their fees after the case.
-
It depends on what they specialize in. Is the doctor a general practitioner in a small town or a brain surgeon in New York City? As for the lawyer, is he specializing in DUI cases, more serious criminal cases... running around a courtroom trying to get people out of $300 tickets for $50... can he get OJ off the hook? Lol.

I think the lawyers allways make the most money, especially when the doctors are sued, who do you think they turn to...The Lawyers of course...
