Title: Windows 10
Post by: cateyes1 on October 26, 2015, 02:43:31 am
We downloaded windows 10 and it is making me crazy. It is so slow and it pauses all the time and I keep getting pop ups. Is anyone else having this problem if you have windows 10?

I haven't had problems with Windows 10. To me it runs just like Windows 8. Whenever I do run into a computer problem I do a search on it. Doesn't sound too helpful, I know, but that's what I do.

Windows 7 here as well and DO NOT want to upgrade to Windows 10 until they get all the BUGS worked out of it!

I've been using Windows 10 for a little over a month.  I haven't had any problems, so far.

I use Windows 10 on both my desktop home theater computer and my Dell laptop and have no problems with it. I do like it much better than the 8.1 I was running, because it's faster and more convenient to find what I need. However when I installed it on my wife's Celeron laptop I had to remove it, because it had all kinds of trouble. Thankfully it was simple to click a button and go back to the Windows 7 she had before. That was a couple of months ago and no problems after that.

Well I just finished a scan and it didn't find anything. HOWEVER, I remember now a few weeks ago I added the swag button and so I disabled it and everything seems to be back to normal again :)...not sure if that was it but so far so good.

I have Windows 10 on one of my laptops, and it seems to work OK. It boots up a lot faster than Windows 7, but the internet does seem slower. Chrome in particular really lags. I do have the Swagbutton, maybe that is the problem.

I downloaded Windows 10 a month ago and no problems, but some people I know have had problems with it.

I've had a new computer for about a year.  I got one with Windows 7 (after having Vista for five years) because I heard bad things about 8.1.  So now I am unsure of whether to upgrade to Windows 10!  By the way, my internet seems to run very slowly at times with my new computer - don't know if it's my Windows 7 or my Fios.

Are you sure your computer's requirements were met for Windows 10?:

If that wasn't the problem, how about viruses or adware/malware?  Run a full-system virus scan and malware scan.  I have no problems, nor have I had any problems with "pop ups" and I'm thinking malware might be your problem.

Windows 10 is downloaded as an update, this means their a possibility of errors, try searching for windows update to resolve your issues.

I do too on one computer, but all the error messages and warnings to upgrade are getting old.

Come 2016, you'll be getting Windows 10 whether you like it or not, especially if you have "automatic updates" turned on.  Don't get crazy, though, you'll still have 30 days to roll back to your old OS.  However, if you do roll back and ever decide to go for Windows 10 again, you'll be paying for it.

I have been reading about Windows 10 a great deal this morning. I changed the setting on my computer to have the choice what to download, not automatic.

If you research issues people are having with it, you may reconsider.  I am going to wait as long as possible. At least for a while I will have a choice.

Maybe your computer system wasnt really meant to handle windows 10 if it does all you say it's doing

I dread the day I upgrade, so I'm happy with 7 at the moment.

I bought a computer that had Win 8.1 on it and later had the opportunity to download Win 10.

First of all, Win 8.1 was ridiculously awkward until I downloaded Classic Shell so I could navigate in much the same way as I did with Win 7.

After I downloaded Win 10 I learned that I needed to uninstall Classic Shell to get my task bar to function properly.  Now....I'm very pleased.  I'm happy with Win 10.

I will not download it until it has been around awhile and I hear positive things being said about it.  Right now, my computer is kind of older and I am not going to mess with it.  You know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.  This is so although I keep getting pop-ups about installing it.  I just delete them.

The installation of Windows 10 is so tedious. It takes so long and it seems to have lots of hangups in the process

I am still using Windows 8, I have heard both good and bad things about windows 10, so have decided to continue using what I have until  they work out more of the bugs; it took me awhile to upgrade to 8 only did because I had to purchase a new laptop and that was all I could find, but I adjusted so I am staying put for as long as possible.
