I completely understand. I am clausterphobic and I really really bothers me to be in crowded places.
-
I pretty much hate going into stores for any time of the year lol. ive never been much of a people person.

I like shopping at about one in the morning because nobody is there. This does not, however, work for Costco or the malls. I intensely, dislike waiting in lines of any type. Some people go to the malls because they are lonely and a trip to the mall has an entertainment factor built in. I am not blessed with the luxury of time at ease. I make my list and zip in and out as fast as I can. I think that the parking lots are far worse. I had to stop at the store last night and was amazed at how inattentive people drive and how selfishly the park. I had a young kid driving across the parking grid that crossed right in front of me. An older lady was cutting through cars and cut right in front of me. People who take two spots with their new cars. People without physical infirmities parking in handicapped spots. Yuck...I am doing all of my shopping on line.

sometimes it can be frustrating with long lines but it hasn.t been too bad this year.
-
Exactly why I try to do most of my shopping online. Then every once in awhile I'll venture out to the stores (during the holidays) but it's not because I need to buy something. Just to kind of enjoy the atmosphere. Then when it starts to get ot me I simply leave.
-
I actually enjoy shopping this time of year. I like watching the people as they go about their business and try to complete their lists.
-
I don't mind crowds when shopping but I hate to see people fighting and arguing over stuff. Yesterday I went shopping and two women were having a very loud argument in the parking lot over some car issue. It like ruined my whole trip; sure did douse what holiday spirit I had in me.
-
Agreed...it has been kinda packed at stores though so far haven't encountered too much "violence"
-
I try to avoid stores if I can. I waste more time fighting for parking and waiting in line.
-
I can manage to avoid most stores by shopping online, can usually come up with better deals online cause can compare prices and really shop around. But avoiding the grocery store is impossible, though I try to hit days and times that are less crowded/crazy, but sometimes that is impossible.

Everybody thinks they are number one. It's all about them. Last year the day after Christmas at a local store 2 women were physically fighting over some Christmas ornament that was half price. In the end they broke it. People are stupid. There is no other way to describe it. And sadly, it is just getting worse all the time.

grocery shopping is the one thing you have to go into a store for can't do it online. I hate it to now won't be that bad i hope but the closer Christmas gets will be crazy.Sometimes i feel like being a Jehovah witness because they don't celebrate anything so avoid all the craziness.
-
I agree! It used to not bother me so much but now I just can't stand the crowds, thankfully a lot of my holiday shopping can be done online. I'll just suffer through the grocery shopping :)
-
Thank God for online shopping. First there is the problem of trying to find a parking space. When you finally find one it seems like it's 2 miles from the store. The crowds become unbearable with pushing, shoving, grabbing. I try to avoid malls this time of the year.

I really really hate going to stores this time of the year as well just way too much pushing and waiting for the next person to move their carts.
-
You did right by being nice! :)
-
Yes...that's why either shop early or online. If I have to get last minute items, then i try to go really earlier or really late to try to avoid the crowd.
-
I know, every store is so packed during the holiday months. The aisles aren't big enough to accommodate the crowds. I try to get in and out as fast as possible.
-
I don't mind really....usually I'm humming or whistling a song...

:) I enjoy watching the kids eyes and expressions. The store is full of wonder and awe for them. :)

I had the same kind of shopping trip yesterday. Mine started in the parking lot. Due to health issues I can't walk very far & there were no handicapped spots so about three spots down from the handicapped a woman had just put her last bag in so I pulled way over to the right so cars could get by. I had two different vehicles sit behind me even though they could get by and blare their horns. I was ready to explode or cry I'm not sure which before I ever got into the store & inside was just as bad. Oh well.

I have heard a lot of people say they will be glad when the holidays are over. Not because they hate Christmas or the holiday season. They are just tired of people and over all how they act.
I have not really noticed it being that much busier. But I have not been to the mall or any where like that. The week of Christmas it will be busy because people will be buying last minute gifts and food for Christmas day.
-
I understand, but try going early in the morning or later at night but it is the holiday season. :)
-
Yes, everything is so crowded this time of the year! And don't get me started on the traffic smh But, ce la vie :)
-
:) I enjoy watching the kids eyes and expressions. The store is full of wonder and awe for them. :)
Listening to them scream, whine and cry when they don't get what they want? Talking back to their parents? Running wild and shoving and knocking stuff off the shelves? Nah, I would rather avoid that. lol
-
I don't mind....I love looking at all the stuff for sale!
-
Having worked retail for over 15 years, I do not care to be in them if I don't have too. Drove 80 mile to the nearest Walmart Wednesday, but left early and go home early. It was really getting crowed when we left though. I do not like being pushed or having to constantly saying excuse me just to get from point a to point b because of people just blocking the way talking or will not keep their baskets out of the way. Oh well made it home in one piece.

Some people act so crazy during this time
