this year, in the last few months, I have had a few unexpected expense.
I took a hit in my checking account.
I do always bounce back somehow and eventually.

It happens to us all. I had a big unexpected expense come my way at the beginning of this year. I'm still trying to get back to where I was. Best of luck to you!

That's why it is really important to have savings... unexpected expenses are never good. If you have the money to cover them saved up it isn't quite as stressful.

Oh I know how that feels, I got hit pretty bad last year with a lot of what I consider unnessary testing because 1 doctor really though I had cancer because I had lost so much weight. I kept saying I think it is my thyroid. But he didn't think so. Well it was. I am now on meds trying to get straightened out with it because I also have graves. But he is no longer my doctor either. I have gained a lot of weight with the meds. But I do feel better. Would like to get some of it back off though. Maybe this next year if they can change the meds any.

Yes you will bounce back

That's too bad, I went the other way and had a boost in my PayPal account from my online money making, it averaged $349 a month over the last 76 days.

"Unexpected expenses" seems to be the story of my life and they don't surprise me at all any more. I bank my paychecks and keep a fairly strict budget, bills get paid first & rest is saved. I earn my spending money for fun stuff working on-line. I know from the past what a nightmare to have unexpected expenses and having no money!!

I have always claimed that whenever I have a little extra, a red flag shoots up from the top of my house and the thing that has been waiting to break will. There is always something extra popping up! If you ain't broke, you ain't livin' but you probably are working for a living.
-
It happend to me too. :) But I try my best to cover it up slowly.
-
Just when you think, it cannot get any worse, it gets worser. Life is like that and is frustrating at times.
-
i hope you bounce back soon
-
Oh ya! It sucks specially when you have nothing saved. Maternity leave has been hard on us! Going back to work soon as long as my anxiety of driving doesn't get in the way too much and then I'm going to start saving that way we have some emergency money. My boyfriend is also going to start getting more next month!

you are a lucky and smart man

The only unexpected expenses is going to the doctor and somehow we have to expect things like that. But it is a new year coming.

An unexpected expense, to me, represents that proverbial "ten steps back" following the "two steps forward". After my car accident, I accumulated an unexpected expense...an auto loan. Unfortunately, that is a part of life...a part of life that I try very hard to avoid. But que sera sera. :-(

Don't you just hate the unexpected expenses? Just when you think you are a step or two ahead, wham! Three steps back!!

I have to agree. It seems just when you think you are making "headway" and you are feeling somewhat positive and getting on top of things to an extent, something happens unexpectedly to turn the whole thing around. Houses, cars, and health seem to be the big problems regarding money.
-
It happens when you have too many bills and not enough money. It happens, but can be very stressful.
-
same thing happened to me, i had to take a couple of loans out for my unexpected expenses
-
Money problems? We all have them!
-
I know what you mean!!!! 2 1/2 years ago I was sued by a credit card company at they took all of my paycheck from my bank causing me to bounce checks and to have $500 due to the bank. I fought back and got the money back, but I still had to pay the bank.
-
I know how you feel. Every time I feel like I'm going to get on top something happens to bring me back down.
-
Unfortunately, it's just a part of life, at some point it happens to us all. I try and save towards them, but that does not always work out but I do try and make the effort to save for such things.

We've been incredibly blessed this holiday season. Similar to others before we spend on anything frivolous our bills are paid. After that we save 1/3 of what's left and splurge 1/3. It's not normally more than a trip out for dinner. Although our living room TV popped and our microwave we've only had since August blew in this last month with Christmas gifts and our working our tails off we've been able to replace both without having to break the bank!

Unexpected expenses really stink. I am there right now but they are so expensive I don't even know what to do - I need home repairs badly but all I do is pray God will make a way where there seems to be no way.
-
Happens to all of us at one time or another. Just depends how quickly we can recouperate.
-
That's why you should always save for a rainey day.
-
Yeah...January can be tough, especially with post-holiday charges hitting the books

I'm sorry to hear you had unexpected expenses. We did too....quite a bit of dental work is needed for my husband; then I had to get a new crown.
Like oldbuddy, I earn monthly from my online business. It has really helped to sell on ebay for our household.
