Title: Christmas is Giving Me A Headache
Post by: adriarobi on December 15, 2015, 01:40:16 pm
I love my family. I love giving them gifts.  Giving them all gifts the same month makes my head pound.

I usually save up for Christmas (four grand-kids and one great-grandchild), but this one got away from me.

Then the new lil great-grandbaby turned one earlier in the month.

I could give a primal yell, but it would only make my head hurt more and annoy those around me.

It will all be fine, and I will be happy when everyone opens their gifts......I am just whining.

Thanks for bearing with me.

I will be glad when this month is over in more ways than one. I really don't want to get into it on here but that is how I feel. :BangHead:

The only two groups that don't have a problem with all this shopping and dolling out of cash are retail stores and credit card companies! That's why it's called the Christmas rush because all this running around, spending and dealing with family makes one's head pound. Don't worry, it will all be over soon not unlike a storm cloud or hurricane.

I can understand the holiday being kind of stressful when you have a lot of people to shop for. The holidays will be over soon.

It is stressful.  I try to think of the real meaning of it and not let the rest worry me. I am stressed of working in a clothing retail store and putting in extra hours and dealing with hateful (some) people.

People make too big of a deal out of things.  Christmas is what YOU make it.  You don't have to make a bunch of candy and stuff, buy presents, or anything else.

@Kimdud22, I know what you mean. People are so hateful this time of year.  It didn't use to be like that.  Use to people would not dream of acting like they do now.

People put too much undue stress on themselves.

You know, you and I are on the same page, although are at different stages of our lives. I just have two kids, but buying presents for them gets increasingly more difficult every year not least because we seem to be in a worse financial state every year! I remember when I was a young girl reaching an age where I didn't receive gifts from my aunts and uncles or grandparents anymore. In the moment I was disappointed, but I quickly got over it. Now that I am a parent, I appreciate that the best things about Christmas are not the gifts, it is the family time, everybody is off school and work and we all just relax and spend time together. Perhaps the kids might be disappointed that there will be no gifts from wider relations, but they'll get over it. After all, some kids don't get any presents at all.

Christmas always give me a headache.  I will be glad when it is over.

Then WHY celebrate it?  Why not just live your life as normal and don't acknowledge the holiday at all?  I hear so many people say that and I just don't get it.  If you hate the holidays then stay in your own world and don't be a downer to every one else.

So what will change in January that will make everything better?  Just curious?
