Title: doctors
Post by: Gerianne on December 16, 2015, 06:11:11 am
sometimes, your doctor gives you a hint that they don't want you as a patient anymore.
My doctor, who I have been seeing 8 years, gave me such a hint.
He said " I am on vacation. Go see Dr __"
Well, in order to see Dr _______ I need to register with him.
I don't like the doctor he suggested.
Fortunately for me, there is a lady NP available.

Maybe he was going on vacation and gave you the name and number of a doctor who was covering for him.

maybe that was the one he had filling in for him while he was out of town...not meaning to lose you as a patient

Not that I can recall have a doctor not want me as a patient anymore. They have given me numbers to other doctors when they are out of town or even when they are leaving the area recommend certain doctors that they think would help me.

I don't recall ever being told by a doctor they don't want me for a patient. I have had a doctor that just upped and moved without telling me he was going to move. And I have had some I refused to go back too because of something they either said or did mainly did.  If a doctor will not sit and talk with me about a problem, but will just prescribe a me with talking with me about the side effects I don't want him.

I just recently changed doctors mainly because I'd rather make a 6 mile round trip than a 50 mile round trip.  So far after one visit I do like this new doctor, he has a good personality.

I think my dad is going through that with the doctor he sees. She seems to unwilling to help him. Dismissive too. He's currently looking for someone else.
