Title: locked doors
Post by: Gerianne on December 16, 2015, 06:15:34 am
There is a new security guard this week.
This is an apartment building.
One of the side doors to our building is usually unlocked day and night.
The gates are locked to the parking lots.
This week, because it's someone new, isn't unlocking the side door in the morning.
She wants to make sure we're safe, even though the gates are locked.
When there is someone new on a job, they follow guidelines to the letter.

You can never be too careful these days.  I keep my doors locked to my house at all times and also my car doors stay locked.

Odd as it might sound, I want my doors locked when I'm home.  I tend to be a bit compulsive about it at night, checking both doors about 3 times before I go to sleep.

When I was growing up we never locked our houses or cars, slept with the windows open. No AC Now it seems like every thing has to be locked up, the house, cars. barn and shop. It is so bad compared to when we grew up. I hate it at times.  Yes I keep my doors locked when I am in the house also. Or driving.  I had a guy try to open my car door one time while I was sitting at a red light. I am sure he would have grabbed my purse since it was sitting in plain sight on the seat. No wonder people are starting to carry guns where ever they go.

I don't think that locking doors would stop some one from getting in to your place if they wont to get in they will find a way. then you have to pay for what ever the brake to get in!

Being from New York, I am always hyper vigilant. While I lock my car doors, I have also equipped my vehicle with an alarm system. I always shake my head at the individuals who reside in those 'small' towns where everyone knows everyone and so they elect to keep their doors unlocked. WTH?!

My husband is a fanatic about locking everything up. I do lock my house and car when away but for the most part the house is unlocked if i am home. i let the dog out so i dont shut the door.

It's always good to have people like that, rule are there for a reason no matter how uncomfortable they may seem at time.

I live in a quiet peaceful neighborhood, mainly senior citizens around my area. But I still lock my doors and always will, cause you never know who's lurking behind the bush's. I have never had any exp. of anyone braking in the house or anything to that matter.  We're not living in a paradise world, no matter how perfect the place looks. This world is bond to do more evil then good. We all have to be cautious, no matter what the case is,......*I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are with me oh Lord; your rod and your staff, they protect and comfort me* (Psalm 23:4)

I would rather have a security guard who follows the guidelines to the letter than one who does not.  I know it might be frustrating, having to deal with something you are not used to, and you'll never know if having that door locked could have saved you from harm, but in this age, we never know what might happen.  Better to be safe than sorry!  Your new guard is taking her job seriously.

We have to be extra cautious now - especially before the holidays.  We lock our door as soon as it starts to get dark.

I make sure the patio door and window are locked.. I heard reports that some people go on top of roofs to steal stuff like bikes, chairs, etc.

When I was younger I used to live in a big apartment complex and they have doormans there... They help with getting stuff to the elevator and also guard the entrance to the building... I think there is 2-3 guys who rotate, must be pretty boring just staring at the door.. Pretty sure they have something to occupy themselves

This is good to hear, "the safer the better" as my mom always says.  One can never have to much security.  ;)
