How long could you go without technology? I am talking about your computer, internet, cell phone... Even more specifically, I'd like to know about your cell phone. Could you shut it all down for an entire weekend? I know I could and sometimes think I should. Maybe I will experiment soon.

I know that I can with my cell phone, my computer I have to think about that, but I think I can.

It is a matter of survival! How long can you live without one of these gadgets?

i would go crazy with out my puter i do not use my cell phone but for emergencies
-
Actually, I can do without all of them. When I was growing up there were no cell phones in our home, had 1 TV, computer, laptop etc.

have no smartphone only one for emergencies i'm missing out but don't care.i would get very bored without a pc and tv .sometimes i think i'm not going to use the pc much today but usually spend more time then i think.

I honestly do not believe that I can go without technology...even for one day. It is all around us; it is a permanent staple of our lives. At least for me, it would be exceptionally difficult for me to withdraw from it.

I don't know how long I could go without my cell phone. As long as the family was with me I could go without it because I need that phone just incase something happens to a family member. The laptop/computer since school is out on Christmas break, then yes I can do without it until school starts back up again.

Not using a cell phone for one weekend will be easy for me. I can go without a TV if I have a computer and internet, but giving up my computer will be the most difficult. It can be done, just difficult to go without.

I can go without computer but i need my cell phone in case of emergency.

Cell phone would be fairly easy. Computer/internet not so much. I use the computer to earn and income so even on weekends, like now, I am doing what I can to earn some cash. I don't understand why people become so concerned with "giving up" on conveniences we have in today's world. It would be like asking my mom years ago, could you give up your washer or stove. I'm not obsessed with any of my gadgets so I see no reason to give them up, even for a weekend. They do not detract from my interactions with family or friends.

Well, seeing as how our cell phones have now replaced land lines, calculators, calendars, alarm clocks, note reminders, grocery lists, all phone number listings.....it would be very difficult!

Without a cell phone for a weekend I could probably do. But internet and laptop, nope. I need my video games, YouTube, and twitch on a daily basis.
-
I probably could - but I do a lot of work on the computer. Thing is, I have become less attached to it, and less distracted, so I'm able to step away at times. That in itself is an important discipline.

It is an interesting experiment to try and see how long we actually last.
Of course we COULD ALL live without them in the literal sense, but they have become such a core part of so many lives. I will admit, I am attached to my cell phone all day long, but I don't make very many telephone calls with it. Still call it a phone, but it is really just my portable computer.
I probably could do without the PC easier than doing without the cell phone just for that reason that I still have access to mostly everything with the phone.

I lost my cell phone for two days over the weekend and I didn't even notice. The worst part was responding to all my text messages.
