Title: Valentine's Day
Post by: camellia0 on January 24, 2016, 04:48:07 pm
It's right around the corner. Has anyone made reservations or bought chocolates and stuffed animals? I'm hoping to do this when the weekend comes.

No need to be outside at all.  Stay home alone with a love one is still a good happy day.

No plans for me as the wife will be traveling to her Master's program class out of town. I guess we can always have a quiet dinner when she returns in a couple days. She is already feeling sad that we won't have dinner together that day.

No I don't make a big deal out of it and no one I know really does either.  I'll buy chocolates a few days after when it's on sale that's it.

I already bought my boyfriend his primary gift, but I still need to pick up a couple more things for him. I'm gonna probably go this weekend cause I'd rather not wait till the last minute as they might run out of stuff or have a lousy selection.

Being single, I don't have to think or do anything related to romance, and I like that.

I don't do Valentine's Day. I have been single for years, and even when I wasn't, I found the holiday very "forced"

The money I earn from ptc sites, I save to spend on my fur-kids at holidays & birthdays.  For vday, the 3 kiddie-kats are each getting a special homemade meal served in their new Dr Catsby "whisker-friendly" bowls.

(Two of the cats is having whisker-trauma at meal time,  so thought this would be the purrfect way to show them some love.)

Have a HAPPY -Day!!

I have done some shopping but this is for my husband's birthday which is February 13th, the day before Valentine's Day.  I plan to shop for Valentine's Day this week.  Still considering what I'll buy.   :)

Yes, I made reservations for my guy and I last week. We go to the same restaurant every year and last year we didn't make reservations and couldn't go, I was bummed so I made sure I did this year!

I've never enjoyed Valentines day.  Not even as a teen.  I didn't realize how the day is designed primarily around those whom are youthful in there view of love and romance is until working and actually getting to know so many individuals at work.  An 18 year old said to another girl my age, "What? You must not love your husband if you're not getting him something for Valentine day." Another young man (30) asked me and the other girl what we would like for Valentine day.  She said, "to find my wedding band."  I said, "tickets to a show downtown.  My husband doesn't enjoy theater so he wouldn't even have to go with me...but a pair would get great so I could bring a friend."

Valentine's Day is also my birthday, so yes, we always celebrate by at least going out to dinner somewhere nice.  Depending on the finances and inclination, we have done some other really great things in the past.  For example, one year we not only went to dinner but made reservations at a very nice retreat with an in-room fireplace and hot tub where management left a bottle of wine and gourmet treats at the door about 10p.m.  Another year we went to the movies after dinner and I had flowers and candy waiting when we got home.  Since Valentine's Day has a double meaning in my family, we usually always celebrate in some manner.

I don't make a big deal out of it, but my husband always has some surprise up his sleeves, so I will just be thankful for whatever that is.

The only thing I have bought so far are Valentine's Day cards for my loved ones. I plan to go to the store to buy other things like chocolates and those small candies with Valentine's Day sayings on them like "Be Mine" etc. for my great nieces and nephews.
