I'm running a 5k tomorrow morning. I'm really looking forward to it! It's the Race to End Homelessness. It's a great cause and I'll be running with my family.
Any tips or words of motivation?

First of all...good luck!
If you're running with your family, I think it will help motivate you and keep you going.
When I run by myself, I've started listening to audiobooks to take my mind off of the fact that I'm running (I hate to run...) and it makes it easier to not pay attention to the complaints of my legs and lungs.
Take it easy though, and listen to your body! If you need to walk, there is no shame in that!

Good luck to you! I have never done one. Post back after how it went and how you felt,

Thank you both for the kind words and tips for success. It went great! With all the excitement and people cheering along the rode I cut off 5 minutes from my personal best time. I couldn't believe it. Everyone also raised a lot of money to provide more necessities for the local shelters. A win for everyone. It was a great way to start the day. :)

Lowered your personal best and for a good cause? WIN ALL AROUND! :)

Awesome! I personally don't like that distance, but races are a fun environment. Congrats on your finish and personal best!

Congratulations on your 5K run.....running for a cause with your family AND cutting 5 minutes off your best time is AWESOME!.
Cheering crowds and running with someone are great motivators to keep going even if your legs or lungs say they want to take a little break.

Congrats on taking up a great cause .. exercise, family time and awareness to your cause all rolled up into one sounds like a win win situation.

This is a goal I had a few years ago and I never did it because other goals took over (buying home, losing weight, better parenting, school, starting business and so on).
What a beautiful thing to do to sacrifice your time and energy for the benefit of others, you will be blessed :highfive:

I just noticed that this was posted a few weeks ago- how did you do? Do you think you'll do it again?

What a wonderful thing you're doing! I hope to do the same in the near future. You got this!

You're going to be addicted to running now. Watch it, it's a very contagious disease

Good luck. Great cause. Running is an exercise that can change the look of your body. That's a long way. FINISH you can do this. What a high. :)

Have fun the the run tomorrow. I haven't done a 5k since year and half ago. I gotta get my friend motivated to go with me.
