Title: Speaking of retirement...
Post by: sak4kat on February 25, 2016, 07:38:10 am
A couple of weeks ago I came across a blip on the radio in regard to a woman who has lived on a cruise ship since 2008.  I did a little research on the concept and it turns out for some...it's cheaper than a retirement home.

Whacha'll think of that?

I read the same thing.  It's a great idea unless something happens and you end up in a nursing home anyway!

I'm afraid that would not be something I would enjoy for long. Have you checked into how much Internet costs on a cruise?

The only cruise I went on was $5 a day plus 75 cents a MINUTE!

Sounds to me like living on a cruise wouldn't be a good idea, but maybe that person don't like internet. Maybe, it would be a tad cheaper to buy a trailer and build a house on it. I've heard they could be built for less than 20k. However, i would be afraid someone would hitch it up and drive off with me in it.

That's fascinating! I never heard of someone retiring/living on a cruise. It just makes you think that there are so many options out there. Good food for thought.
