Title: Spring and summer festivals
Post by: shepherdchik on May 14, 2016, 09:57:03 am
Are there a lot of spring and summer festivals to enjoy where you live? I live near the beach so there are a lot of things to do once the season comes around. Nearly every weekend there is somewhere to go, food and beer feastivals, craft fairs, flea markets. So fun to get out and enjoy the weather!

I love festival season. It's a great reason to get outside and explore. I also live near some great farmers markets and parks that host really cool events.

Yeah, up here in MN, it seems as though every town (even those that boast a population of only a few hundred people) has to have their own town festival. Some of them are not much more than a town-wide garage sale with a parade, but most actually have events and shows going on during the festival. The place where my parents live has there town festival during the 4th of July, so they tend to really put on a big celebration turning it into a week-long party.

There are more festivals in Ohio than you can shake a stick at. We don't get to nearly enough of them.  Each has its own local flavor and they ALL have great food and fun activities!

I always hate how crowded they are. It's like the venues are too small for the number of people trying to attend. I would go but between the crowd and heat, it just isn't my thing. I end up not having that much fun.

Lots of festivals near Chicago and outlanding suburbs.  Never a dull weekend.  First and favorite one is this weekend in Long Grove, Ill.  They have 3 each year, chocolate (spring), strawberry (summer) and apple (fall).

There are a lot of festivals here. Honestly, I haven't made not one single plan for this summer, wow. Working is on my mind most work is in the summer time.

I am planning to go to Maryland Deathfest with my girlfriend over Memorial Day weekend in Baltimore. We are both currently sick so I hope we can still make it. :-\

I guess you might be dead by Memorial Day weekend if you're currently sick now; it'd depend on what illness you're talking about. Although I wouldn't have taken "Deathfest" literally....  ;D  ;)

Seriously, hope you guys feel better to enjoy it!
