I am not sure how you can without changing the game significantly. I think it is part of the game so leave it.

No. Players need to learn how to make free throws during a game. If they can't then I don't have a problem with an opposing player fouling him. The only thing I don't like is that it slows the game down. Still gotta make those free throws.

I think there are too many rules as it is now. The NBA is a very popular league, very lucrative to say the least, why fix it if it ain't broken?
