Some people ask when we humans or other creatures would evolve to start or stop doing something or things. If there were such a thing as evolution in organisms, nobody probably would live well anymore at all.
-
NO!!
King James Bible
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.Gen 1:1
New International Version
Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."Gen 1:26

I think evolution happened its fun to listen to youtube viDeoS about it from people like RICHArd Dawkins. But scientests don't know how life started they have TO GUESS ABOUT THAT. I will say we do look designed as far as our brain and just the haNDS I'M USING RIGHT NOW.nOT THAT THEY ARE WORKINGTO WELL WITH THE CAPITAL LETTERS ETC.wE do have similarities to apes, orangatans, chimpanzees so they the sc ientists point that out .
-
I believe in God's creation THROUGH evolution...
-
I don't believe in evolution but believe in God
-
I believe in the Divine Creation. I also believe that evolution plays a part in the existence of all living things.
-
I don't believe my ancestors were apes. I believe I have opportunities to learn, grow and evolve in my lifetime; however, I also believe in the "Adam and Eve" theory.

God created the Heavens and the Earth and everything in it. He created people and every thing else. You may have evolved from a monkey but I did not. I was created in the image of the Almighty God.
-
I believe the bible, God created the world!
-
Ditto to what others have already stated. I was created by God in His image. I remember when I was younger, in my science book it had something in it about us possibly being related to a primate. That baffled me.
-
No god made man in his like ness not an ape
-
It takes more faith to believe in the theory of evolution than it does to believe that God created everything. I mean, every creation must have it's Creator. Science alone should be enough to prove the Universe was created by intelligent design.
-
I believe it makes the most sense of any of the theories out there. I know many people that believe in it and are still religious.

I need to go ask an ape if they are religeous!!
-
I believe in Evolution. Everything changes.
-
I do not believe in evolution either. The first answer given in this forum is exactly how I feel. All questions answered in the Bible - and it all goes back to Genesis.
-
Human Beings are the result of a long process of evolution. Period. The rest is fairy tales.
-
Evolution is a fact. That doesn't mean we evolved from apes either.
-

Playing both ends against the middle.Doesnt wanna give God credit but give evolution credit for man being evolved in Gods image!!!Not being compared to an ape!!!LOL!!Gotta love it!!
-

So then evolution must be responsible for the fairy tales!!!LOL!!
BTW..i didnt know fairy tales could be responsible to have such an effect to change the calendar as Jesus did.Not even gonna get into the history of the bible as in countries, world powers etc that much proof was left behind!!

Evolution is change in the heritable traits of biological populations over successive generations. That is an incontrovertible fact. I didn't give credit for anything. You think evolution means a heck of lot more than it actually does.
-
I would agree in the concept of "micro evolution" (minor evolution within species) just not "macro evolution". (No major changes such as apes evolving into humans, etc)

Absolutely not! There is a reason why we are here and that reason came from God.

I realize most people are still responding to the OP and not really looking at the different ideas from other responders, but the question I would ask to ALL who have an opinion one way or the other, isn't it possible for both theories of evolution AND creation to co-exist?
I am a 100% full believer in God and Jesus Christ and cannot wait to be reunited with many of my loved ones in the afterlife provided that I am worthy to enter into Heaven. But I am also a firm believer that dinosaurs roamed the Earth millions of years ago and that we all evolved in some fashion from some earlier primates, whether that be apes or earlier bipedal humans or whatever.
So I guess what I am saying/asking = isn't it possible that God created the universe and all of the stars and planets and also designed evolution as a part of that creative process? Evolution and Creation do not have to be mutually exclusive.

So if you support God and Jesus i would think u support bible? And if you do then it tells us man was directly created by God and Jesus!!Let US make man in Gods image at Genesis 1:26 Formed from dust and God blew the breath of life into him.Bible says man is wonderfully made.
Most that dont wanna give a loving intelligent spirit for the credit just dont wanna be accountable to HIM!Satan has blinded many including creation!
God didnt tell Adam at death there would be an afterlife. He told him he would go back to dust.Jesus said Lazarus was sleeping before he resurrected him. This backs up "the dead are conscience of nothing".Eccl 9:5
But Jesus promised there would be a resurrection of righteous and unrighteous during his 1000 yr kingdom rule after Armagheddon!Acts 24:15

I agree with UGetPaid.... I see the Bible as saying what happened and science to say how it happened. According to Genesis, the acts of creation took place in a week, with separate acts occurring in different days. Yet if the world nor any of the stars were in existence at the beginning, then the term "day" is absolutely meaningless (even moreso if you consider that the universe has billions of planets each with their own "Sun" and different rates of rotation making a "day" variable unit of measure). If God is omniscient and omnipotent, then it stands to reason that God would have known at the beginning how to create an on-going process to create humans with a plethora of different traits, such as evolution.
Discarding the theory of evolution also adds credence to God being mean, indifferent, and / or fallible. We know that there are genetic abnormalities and genetic disorders. If God created humans "from scratch" so-to-speak, then God must have incorporated those genetic conditions in humans as well. Either God did so purposely but didn't care that it would hurt humans (ie God is indifferent), God did so purposely in order to punish humans (ie God is mean), or God did so accidentally (ie God is fallible). Considering that God made male humans first (according to Genesis), then saw that man was unhappy, and so created woman later, I'm more inclined to believe that the god in the literal Bible is both fallible and not omniscient....
If on the other hand you believe that God created the evolutionary process in order to create humans, then the genetic issues can be seen as being "good". The process of evolution utilizes mutations and other genetic changes to add variety to the species' genetic makeup. Although some of these mutations may lead to the individual organism suffering, having the variety in the genetic code can also lead to another organism (of that same species) to develop an advantage in its survival. Sickle cell anemia is a genetic disorder that causes red blood cells to become deformed under certain conditions which causes them not to function correctly leading to the anemia (the inability for the red blood cells to carry oxygen as effectively). The disease is a recessive trait that only occurs when a person has the same mutation from both of their parents. Although the disease leads to many issues such as pain attacks, anemia, infection, and even strokes, it also is a very effective natural preventative to developing malaria. When the organism responsible for malaria tries to infect red blood cells (as a part of its normal life-cycle), the red blood cells will "sickle" / deform causing those blood cells to rupture and die before the organism has finished growing thus preventing it from spreading throughout the host. Additionally, people that have the sickle cell trait from only one of their parents also maintain an advantage in resisting malarial infection while at the same time experiencing few (if any) of the signs / symptoms of sickle-cell disease. As the mortality and morbidity rates are worse for malaria than sickle-cell disease, the sickle-cell trait can be seen as being "good" as a natural resistance to the more "bad" disease of malaria. Also since there are several variations of the sickle-cell gene (different mutations cause the same or very similar trait to be expressed) being found at different levels around the world, it has been taken as evidence of an evolutionary process that is occurring in humans (ie God would not create different mutations for the same trait had God introduced the genetic condition when first creating humans).

Psalm 90:94 New International Version
A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.
Romans 5 :12 New International Version
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned--
Romans 6:23 New International Version
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Fooish to support just part of the bible
To explain furthur,If Jehovah is the Alpha and the Omega it stands to reason the creative days should NOT be based on how man views them.Adam died at 930 Yrs old.He died in Gods view what his day was comparing it to 1000 of ours.A creative day was even longer.Bible backs it up.
If God was to blame for man growing old and dying there would have been NO need for Jesus coming to earth and ransoming his perfect life for one Adam threw away.Bible backs it up!!
Definition of sin
Definition: Literally, a missing of the mark, according to the Hebrew and Greek Bible texts. God himself sets the “mark” that his intelligent creatures are to reach. Missing that mark is sin, which is also unrighteousness, or lawlessness. (Rom. 3:23; 1 John 5:17; 3:4) Sin is anything not in harmony with God’s personality, standards, ways, and will, all of which are holy. It may involve wrong conduct, failure to do what should be done, ungodly speech, unclean thoughts, or desires or motives that are selfish. The Bible differentiates between inherited sin and willful sin, between an act of sin over which a person is repentant and the practice of sin.

Micro-evolution, yes.... Macro-evolution, no.
Micro has to do with a species slowly changing from generation to generation in their DNA.
Macro says I literally formed over billions of years from stardust. Nope, it takes more faith to think that than believe in God. And I used to be an atheist, and it was because "science was so true."
-
Evolution is a process by which something passes through to a different stage, since Charles Darwin's theory evolution seems to have discovered the word limit. No, I'm a firm believer in creation.
-
This is making me want to watch the debate on youtube between Ken Hamm and Bill Nye yeah the science guy worth watching.
-
Hey Potluck, lemme know if the science guy trys to prove Jesus didnt exist and why!!
I need a good laugh every now and then!!
-
Since we have fossils to show how species have changed over time, I do. that doesn't mean you cant also still have your faith.
-
I believe that nature changes over time and adapts. However, I believe that only God can make something out of nothing. One of my biggest problems w/ evolution is that no one can offer an evidenced based opinion about where the building blocks for the big bang came from. Seems to me like there is a lot of faith associated w/ evolution. If I'm going to exercise faith, I'd prefer putting that faith in God. That is just my opinion.
-
No - I believe in God, He is the one that created everything!!
-
I don't believe in evolution.
-
No. I believe that God created the Heavens and the Earth.

I think both concepts are mutually exclusive. Because The bible tells us God created Man from the dust of the earth. There's no real evidence for believing Man came from Apes. That would also suggest God isn't clever enough to get something right the first time, without resorting to painful trial & error attempts. There are people that believe that each Day in the first week was actually an "age". And that's how they try and reconcile evolution. But from what I remember (and granted it's been several years) in my study of the original Hebrew, the term used to describe "Day" in the bible actually meant a literal 24 hour day.

God created Man "Perfect" and then genetic abnormalities crept into the equation only after the Fall of Man, when Mankind became tainted with Sin. Therefore, it's not God being Mean/Indifferent or Fallible. The Universe Itself was affected by Mankind's Sin.

Yeah, I have to admit it's a real joke when some people want to act like Jesus didn't exist. Regardless what you believe in, even the most antagonist historian worth his salt will admit to a historical Jesus.

Yes i do believe in evolution because animals do change over time that is evolution at its finest

New International Version
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned--Romans 5:12
God also told Adam,"cursed is the ground on your account after they sinned.Plus till this day man continues to pollute the earth still.
Creative day?Gods day?Mans day?All have different meanings.
We know our day is 24 hrs.Gods day is 1000 of our yrs.The creative day had to be pretty long. For the illuminaries to have reached the earth light yrs away in itself proves that.
Also Re if Jesus existed. For someone to have changed time i would think left a pretty strong impression of existing!
-
What i am going to speak about probably doesnt belong in this topic but i dont wanna create a new one either. Please feel free to comment.
One of our 1st cousins sadly passed away last wk at the age of 72.The funeral mass was at a catholic church. The priest brought up this scripture in Psalms 90:10
New International Version
Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
Then after he brings it up he tells us some live longer than others and after they have fulfilled their earthly rein God calls them.
OH!!So God created man to die eh?Good thing A&E sinned otherwise they would have lived forever....LOL!!
Then the priest tries to show how Jesus wept right before he resurrected Lazarus. So if he was in heavenly bliss why would he even be crying?LOL!!
NONSENSE!!The fact that Jesus said there would be a resurrection during his 1000 yr rein of righteous and unrighteous shows that man DOESNT have an immortal soul and backs up Eccl 9:5
New International Version
For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten.
That scripture backs up Adam going back to dust!!Dust isnt immortal.Jesus said Lazarus was asleep.I need to awaken him.
Its EZ to see why many are turned off about religeon.Understanding bible truths exposes that will exist as long as satan has been referred to as god of this system...backed up when he offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world for an act of worship.Jesus told him to go away.It is Jehovah who is God almighty and deserves that only.See Rev 4:11 as well!

God exists outside of time. Time has no meaning for Him because He is omnipotent.

I believe God created the heavens and the earth. Life is so beautiful and precious and I'm thankful for all my blessings...
-
Yes JJ...Jehovah is the Alpha and Omega.HE is time!No Gods before HIM and NONE will be after HIM!
Scripture does mention 1000 of our yrs are 1 day to HIM.He told Adam in the day he sinned he would die.Adam died at 930.Within Gods day!

No, I believe in the God of the Bible. He is my creator and sustainer. :)
:rose:
-
I do believe in it just by look at the old fossils and such from way back till now.
-
No, I do not. I believe that God made us and the animal and that we don't have nothing to do with being part of the ape.
-
I believe Evolution can be scientifically proven since there are fossils that can prove its existence.
-
I do believe in evolution, but the part that confuses me is how some people act like it has to be either evolution or religion, but not both. To each their own, but I don't get that.
-
yes all things evolve ..
-
To be honest, No. This question reminds me of that episode on Friends. I was just watching it the other day. Ross tries to get Phoebe to agree and believe in evolution.
-

Either you support bible or you dont.
Famous scientists such as Galileo and Isaac Newton believed in a Creator. Their belief did not conflict with their love for science. Likewise, some scientists today find no conflict between science and belief in creation.
-
No, I do not believe in evolution. God created the Heavens and Earth and all living creatures and objects therein.
-
not really,,, i do believe God created everything. Evolution confuses me so I will just stick with "God" :)
-
I don't know maybe

Some people ask when we humans or other creatures would evolve to start or stop doing something or things. If there were such a thing as evolution in organisms, nobody probably would live well anymore at all.
Humans did not evolve. God created man.

Science isn't exclusive. Religion isn't exclusive. They go hand in hand. In fact it was a Catholic priest who proved this. Father Georges Lemaitre, a Belgian priest, proved the existence of the Big Bang Theory. He was also an accomplished physicist. In fact Albert Einstein stated, "This is the most beautiful and satisfactory explanation of creation to which I have ever listened." There is no conflict between science and religion as Fr. Lemaitre proved to be a man of both. Even the church has no qualms with this at all. In fact the Vatican Observatory is one of the oldest astronomical research institutions in the world. It was established by Pope Leo XIII in 1891 “so that everyone might see clearly that the Church and her Pastors are not opposed to true and solid science, whether human or divine, but that they embrace it, encourage it, and promote it with the fullest possible devotion.”

Pretty astounding that a fable of Jesus could change time...LOL!!
Let me give you reality NOW!!Jehovahs visible organization on earth under HIS kingdom where Jesus is king is preaching and teaching MILLIONS of bible truths in 240 lands!!If that doesnt convince you Jehovah is GOD ALMIGHTY and the TRUE GOD then live your 70/80 yrs and be content! And hope a decendent of pope Leo finds the fountain of youth!!

Yes I do. I believe God created the very first organisms, and allowed them to develop into what we are now. There is nothing wrong with the concept of evolution. I don't understand why people get upset over it. You can be religious and still believe in evolution without giving up your faith. It is all how you look at it.

everyone is human

The bible doesnt say God caused the BB theory and mankind evolved. It says.....
He also formed man “out of dust from the ground,” blowing into his nostrils the breath of life so that the man became a living soul.—Ge 2:7.

I believe there is only ONE evolution- and that is GOD!!
-
Sure because we do have things like wisdom teeth, pesticide resistant mosquito, and the superbug..
Since we replaced eating rough foods like meat, hard nuts, or leaves/roots for more (cooked) softer foods. Our jaws have become more compact/smaller... Thus having some of our molars to be removed (due to it being impacted, partially impacted etc)
Then we have those accursed mosquitoes. Although ddt have tried to limit the population of mosquitoes carrying diseases, it has only made them stronger (since most mosquitoes are resistant to it now)
Similar to pesticide resistant we also have penicillin resistant bacteria
-
I believe there is only ONE evolution- and that is GOD!!
I think you should substitute "Creator"for the word evolution. If you wanna put the words intelligent, dynamic, wise, loving & just before Creator thats ok too!!
-
In response to Liquids post.....i am not sure i see its point....but God told Adam after he dis-obeyed and sinned,"cursed was the ground on his account"!
-
I don't the bible states that when we die we go to heaven or hell depending on how we live our lives. It doesn't say anything about Evolution.
