Which do you think is better as an operating system - Windows 10 or Windows 8.1?
-
I still have Windows 7 but I need a new laptop so I would love to hear what people say before I purchase.
-
I know nothing about 8.1 but I downloaded Windows 10 when it was offered to me and I like it just fine.
Obviously, I am not an expert.:notworthy: Just offering my opinion.
:fish:

I prefer 8 or 8.1 .....I upgraded to 10 on my laptop and it crashed it and now I cannot get it to restart.
Thankfully my former boss gave me a Dell laptop or Id have nothing to work on. :sad1:

I never had Windows 8.1.I went from Windows 7 to Windows 10.Between those two,I like one about as much as the other.
-
I had W8, 8.1 and went to W10 almost as soon as it came out. W 8.1 was an attempt at a multi-platform/single-OS. But as a desktop user there were a lot of issues with 8.1 that 10 solved. But then again, I think 10 went back to the older style to placate the masses

Personally I think windows 10 and Windows 8.1 have pros and cons. I personally like Windows 10 because a lot of things have been resolved.
-
Windows 10 is definately a better system than 8.1....More stable and secure
-
Windows 8.1, hands down. Windows 10 screwed up the power button on my laptop computer and could've killed that computer.
-
windows 8
-
I do not have any experience with windows 8 as I have windows 7 on both my desk top and laptop and love it.
I downloaded the windows 10 for free on my desktop and hated it.. went back to my windows 7 and am sticking with it
-
Not a fan of either.
-
I had Windows 7 and just changed about a week ago to Windows 10. There doesn't seem to be a big difference, but I can tell you I am not impressed with Microsoft Edge that they want you to use with it so I have already changed back to good ole Chrome!

As long as you have a sticker on your computer that contains the authorization code for Windows, you can reinstall the original Windows and be back in business. Otherwise I would get a free copy of Linux and install that. I particularly like Just Browsing Linux for surfing the Internet with no fear of Malware.

Windows 10 for the touch screen support and other advances features.

Windows 7,8 and 10 all support touch screens.

I have windows 10 on my laptop I just brought a few weeks ago. I haven't had my own laptop in a few years because I never got around to it, so when I did I have to admit I did get angry when I could figure out how to find everything of course once I did it was easy, so I would have to say windows 8 because that's what I used to honestly.

I too had problems finding stuff, until I figured out the search bar next to the start button could find programs whether they were installed or not. Some Apps (like Sticky Notes) were installed already and I didn't know it.

I am running windows 10 just like any other operating system it has issues. I never had windows 8. I was warned against it. For the most part I like windows 10.

To be honest, I do not note any system differences between the two. Obviously Windows 10 contains more features and a refreshing new look, but otherwise, it operates the same as Windows 7 and 8.
