Have you seen people wandering around with their cell phones looking for Pokemon?
It seems to be larger than life. There was a story on the news about it and #PokemonGo is currently trending on Twitter.
I guess it's something fun for kids to do while they're out of school this summer. I've even heard that some adults are having fun with it.
What do you know about this? What's the big deal?

Yeah, this sounds like the new fad! I read some where that a woman was searching for Pokeman water and found a dead body in the river. And then a few young men were using it to rob people! Crazy stuff out there!

I just learned about this Pokemon app from my son yesterday. He has the app on his phone and was looking for something. A person asked him if he was interested in the church he was near.
-
I have heard about the app, but I haven't played it, but my neighbors husband drove her around town looking for Pokemon's lol.
-
That was on the news this morning. I haven't seen the app but am wondering how it works??? A scavenger hunt?
-
not downloading it,,,, i do not play games on my phone. someone will be killed just because they are playing while driving or walking into the street in front of a car,,, or being lured to somewhere and being robbed at gun point. who wver thought of this game is an idiot !!!!!!

Well, Miss Conspiracy Theorist here with my take on this. I believe the Pokémon poopoo is another way to separate people and keep their minds busy doing basically "nothing" so that the government can do what they want without anyone doing anything about it or caring. :P
People are so consumed with their phones, they don't talk to each other anymore face to face, and it's a darn shame. I even have people in my own family who use their smartphones while they're driving! And they're extremely intelligent people!! :-[
I'm afraid to get a smartphone for this very reason. I don't want to be exposed to whatever opioid substance smartphones contain. :angry7:

I know one thing about this app. That if you downloaded the "unofficial" copy of the game, you could be opening yourself up to a world of trouble:

I don't care where Pokemon's going, where he is now, or where he was. There's a never-ending onslaught of things to clutter the mind.
-
I first heard about it this week. One of our local DJ celebrities was Snap Chatting about wandering around Nashville looking for Pokemon. I wondered what in the world this was all about. I figured if it were the next big thing, I would hear more about it, and Wallah!, a thread at FusionCash.

what in the world is up with this new pokemon go? everybody loves I don't even like pokemon
-
The only time I heard about the PokemonGo thing was on a news article this morning where people were being lured into dark alley ways to look for Pokemon where someone would be waiting to rob them of their cash. I'm sure this was not the intention of the original creator of the game, but it demonstrates how something so innocent can turn out to be so terrible. Always be aware, and expect the unexpected!

I Literally See, Read, Hear, And Even talk About It Every Day! >XD I Recently Read An Article Of It In The Newspaper On The 4th, All of A Sudden i See people EVERYWHERE Playing It On the 6th, on The 8th i see memes Of It, Like The Strip Club One, & Even One Where A Fully Grown Adult Slams The Door In Front Of 2 12 year Olds Just To Catch A Pikachu Himself. I Guess the Government Hit A Goldmine With This One, Another Way To Distract & Dumb-Down Society, While They Rob Us Blindly. :bad: :bad: :bad: :bad: :bad:

Just because people are walking around on their cell phones does not mean they are playing pokemon. I do use my phone in public all the time but I do not play this stupid game. A lot of people have been hurt because of this game. I have seen where some businesses are complaining because they do not want their business to be associated with the game.
-
I heard about the pokemongo craze in the news. It seems to be a top game app now.
-
I just heard of it this morning on GMA
-
Yeah, This Thing Is Everywhere Now! I Can't Even Believe Its Gotten This Big Just 2 Days Before it Released I Saw An Article In The Newspaper About It, Then On The 6th I See A Guy Catching A Magikarp @ A Local Starbucks, Now There's Even Memes Of This Game Lol! >XD

I heard about it, and on the radio Today I heard that Nintendo has already made 7 million dollars from it, or the company has gained 7 million.
-
Wondering how long this trend will run? I have yet to see anyone chasing Pokemon characters out there, but don't want to trip over any of them. We certainly have enough distractions, don't we?
-
This app has definitely swept over the nation! Lol. I do not play it myself but it is all over the news, my facebook feed, everywhere. I was at Kroger the other day and there were adults behind me looking for pokemon. And today I was walking my dog around this school in my neighborhood, there was a car that kept circling around me and it made me very nervous. They get out and start taking about pokemon. Turns out that's all they were doing.
-
I wont be looking for pokemon not my type of entertainment
-
yea at least it is something that could be a little active.

In the report I heard on the radio about it this morning, the person being interviewed talked about how much more walking and exercise the app was going to generate as people tried to chase those buggers around. It sounds to me, though, like it can become a very addictive game and a huge time/gasoline waster.

Just another complete waste of time
-
Well, I'm 30 years old and play Pokemon GO, and have no shame in it cause that was my childhood! It's a pretty fun game, and I am enjoying it, but I'm not addicted to it like some people are. All I keep hearing about is people who crash their cars cause they are playing while driving, or people who get hurt crossing the street cause they are too busy looking at their phones. The game even has a disclaimer in the loading screen stating to watch out and be aware of surroundings. I guess some people just don't heed those warnings.
-
My wife and son play it. They have a great time looking for things. If you are familiar with geocaching, this is pretty similar. In fact you can pretty much say that this whole game experience is just one big scavenger hunt. It was smart to release it in the summer allowing people to take advantage of the summer weather and enjoy being outdoors.
-
YES! We had a kid walk up in our yard doing it. We had no clue who the kid was and came very close to calling police. I think it's dangerous.
-
is crazy because somebody got hurt playing this game
-
And they say taking surveys is a waste of time?
At least I get PAID for goofing off!!!!
-
I've heard a little rave and rant about this. Seems to be the talk of the day.

I actually completely agree with you. I was thinking of getting this game because I've always like Pokemon but now I'm re-thinking my decision haha.
