I know i overpay for amazon prime for what I actually get. People love the 2 day shipping but you pay for it in the jacked up prices for the items you buy. I do not understand how amazon makes it with their ridiculous pricing! I saw kelly rippa making fun of prime day on tv. She was right to do so, i didnt see anything that i couldnt get for the same or cheaper price somewhere else and one product i was "watching" cancelled as a deal.
I told myself i would keep it for the music. But you cant even burn the music! You can listen to it through an app that you can download, but you cant actually "own" the music like when you buy it.

I got the trial Amazon Prime for 30 days. I did buy another fire stick during the prime sale on the 12th, it was $15 cheaper than it normally is everywhere. I didn't see anything else I couldn't live without. I agree that Amazon is pricey normally, I don't usually see great bargains there, but they do have stuff that that I am looking for that is hard to find (like underarmour cold gear attire)

I have to respectfully disagree. I love Amazon and I love Amazon Prime. The prime day sale didn't have anything I wanted but I earn so many Amazon gift cards throughout the year on survey sites, etc. that I am able to do most of my Christmas shopping at Amazon. For me the prices are comparable to what I would find in physical stores, and many times cheaper. I can't even begin to tell anyone the number of needed items I purchased through amazon and have never had a problem with any of them. Guess it just depends on the person and what they're looking for. Me, I'm a big fan, especially getting my gift cards makes it not spending any money at all. On prime video I have actually purchased a movie which I know have forever. I maybe in the minority but I'm a big fan of Amazon.

I wasn't really looking for much on Prime Day, but I did come across a SanDisk Ultra 64GB Micro SD card for my tablet for $15.99 and FREE shipping. (It's a rare occasion I will pay for shipping on Amazon because I always look for that "free shipping.") Normally, those cards with 64GB go for about $55, so I'd say yes, I got a bargain.

I missed it. Meant to check it out but got caught up at work.

I find Amazon's pricing to be better than local stores most of the time. And it's a heck of a lot more convenient. However, I do agree, Prime Day is a joke. Though, I did actually buy something that was on offer this year, a watch that was $10 off. I'd been looking at it for a while and hadn't bit the bullet. And I saved around $16 compared to the price they ask for it at WalMart.

Companies will do anything just to make a sale.

I can really help if you're in a pinch and need something quickly though..

I am glad it works for you! It seems there is never anything I need worth the price being asked. Even the movies that I look for cost a lot to rent for 24 hours when I can just go to redbox and get it for $1. I have questioned whether it is just certain types of stuff I am looking for or if knowing how to dig for deals is the issue, but I never find anything cheaper than a store on amazon. I also get gift cards through survey sites and that is why i end up using amazon, but not happy with it overall and definitely not worth the $99 for prime. Again, my personal experiences. I saw someone else mention a bargain they found. I am glad to see it is good for at least some of you!

I get free shipping for walmart with that shoppingpass program they are piloting. $35/year, unlimited, no minimum shipping. If they started movie rentals and music downloads they would really be competing with Amazon prime. I recommend the shippingpass program, though i do not seem to always get stuff within 2 days as advertised.

Not sure what "jacked up prices" you are talking about. I have never seen ridiculous pricing on Amazon products. Everything I have purchased from them is comparable to prices any where else. And I always get the free shipping. And no, I am not a Prime Member. I love Amazon.

It might be the type of things you're shopping for or the stores in your area are just very low priced.
There are some things that are very overpriced but it's like that at most stores. I can usually find the brands I want much cheaper on Amazon than most other stores. I wouldn't pay for Prime because I don't think I would use it enough to justify the cost.

Guess we are shopping for different items. When I want to purchase something, I go to amazon first since I have gift cards and prime membership, then i search walmart and target for the exact same item and 99% of the time one or both is cheaper than amazon. I am glad some people benefit from it, I just do not see how based on my experiences. Today I looked for Tidy Cats litter and it was between 7 and 8 bucks at walmart online, and as high or higher as 23 (for a 2 pack - so 11.50) for the same item on amazon. When i found it for less, it wasnt part of prime and so the shipping costs were about 6 dollars plus the item.

im not t a prime member so i dont know how good or bad the deals were

I forgot about Amazon Prime Day until I was getting ready for bed and I was too tired to start looking for deals - oh well ... However, I do like having Prime - it's so convenient to get what you order so quickly and I don't find the prices "jacked up" - I actually have seen items on other bargain sites that are cheaper on Amazon. The Prime is in my daughter's name/account but I and my other two children chip in for the cost of $99/year so we can all order items on Prime. It's especially useful at Christmas time when we all order so much from Amazon. Love it!

I didn't have time that day to check out what they had. I love Amazon and I use student prime because I'm in school. I only pay 49 bucks a year. The 2 day free shipping is great for me because I order a lot through them. It's better than fighting crowds at the stores.
-
I signed up for the trial, but I don't think it is worth it. I sometimes receive amazon gift cards from work at home places that don't offer paychecks. I still don't think it is worth the price though if you ask me!
-
I would use Prime if it was more in line with the US site (I'm in Canada) but since Prime services here are limited at best, I never saw a reason to sign up. I don't buy from Amazon often and when I do, it's because I stacked up a LOT of gift cards to pay for everything.

I have been a Prime member for a couple of years, and it is WELL worth the price for me. I order all the time from Amazon, both for myself and other people, and I've saved a ton on shipping costs. For the things I buy, Amazon is almost always significantly cheaper, although for groceries, they are usually more expensive. On Prime Day, I got two flash drives for significant savings, but other than that, I wasn't really interested in any of their other sales. But Amazon Prime is about a lot more than just a one-day sale.
-
I stopped paying for amazon prime when my student account got expired.. Don't see much of a use for paying $99 a year, since I don't usually buy a lot of stuff anymore in Amazon.. It was $60-70 I might consider it
Last year's Amazon Prime Day I remember, was also bad.. I heard they they have 50Ib gallon drum of lube. Other then tht most deals were stuff not a lot of people want

Not a member just buy things from Amazon from time to time.
-
Prime day was set to fail from the start. Amazon isn't as good as it used to be.
-
I just recently placed an order with Amazon a couple of weeks ago and chose the free shipping as usual. It says I won't get the items I ordered until at least Aug 29 and no later than Sept 16. I've never had a problem with shipping. Usually it would come in less than a week. This is ridiculous and just a scam for you to pay for Prime membership.

I shop at Amazon but I have never used prime.
