Ugghh! I went to a couple stores today and two of them already had Halloween stuff out. I hate that. I feel like they are trying to rush my life away. September fine but not July!
-
Been that way for along time right after the 4th of July summer stuff on sale winter stuff comes out.
-
Because they can, talk about rushing the seasons ugh
-
Ugh! So far I haven't seen any Halloween stuff out! I hate when the seasons and holiday's are rushed.
-
Because the stores have a dedicated section for seasonal / holiday items... when one is over, on to the next upcoming event, no matter how far in advance it is. Our economy is based on shopping, sad state we are in.
-
July does seem a little early but it is the next major holiday after the 4th of July....lol.
It seems the marketing starts earlier and earlier.
-
That is absolutely crazy, summer is not even over with yet!
-
I was in Kroger yesterday and, yes, they are starting to put the Halloween stuff out already.
-
Because stores want us to buy. It's much too early for it.
-
The rush to buy is here
-
It's getting earlier and earlier every year with any holidays items. It's one of the many reasons I avoid going to a physical store and do as much of my shopping online as I can. I'm willing to bet Christmas items will be out long before Halloween gets here.
-
I agree completely!! Tooooo rushed!
-
Because the "Back to School" sales are almost over!
-
I have not seen Halloween stuff. Just back to school and school starts in a couple weeks. I don't think they are rushing anything. You do not have to buy it now. Although if you see something you really want you better buy it now cause otherwise it won't be there when you want to purchase it.
-
They can't wait to do devil worship !!
-
I actually work for a Kroger. I too was shocked when walking through the entrance yesterday seeing outdoor pumpkin decor for the fall. But someone up above made a good point. When retailers receive seasonal product there isn't much space to keep it stored in until the holiday arrives. Daily loads of product still come in and get pushed through...not easy to move when other large things are in the way...so retailers drop seasonal items prices (still trying to make a buck on em') and clear them out. Get the higher priced ticketed next season things in to make higher profit on them. They've mastered this.
-
Probably to make sure we are all able to get our candy fix. LOL. I still can't believe the Summer is half over and they have school supplies out.
-
I always get excited seeing all the halloween stuff. They come out with better, creepier & just plain outrageous stuff every year. I like browsing through the items.
-
They have been doing that for years .. it's called Marketing
-
I have not seen any Halloween stuff out yet, I think it is too rushed and summer is not even over.
-
Besides random items, I haven't seen Halloween stuff either...big focus now is back to school items which have started appearing in stores
-
Why does it matter? No one is making you buy anything.
-
I saw that today! uugghh!!
-
Do they? I havent noticed! I havent been in many stores lately though. I noticed school supplies, I guess it is about time for kids to go back.
If halloween is out then it wont be long before christmas stuff is out. Seems like it was just here!
-
Doing some traveling in August and can not find shorts for my husband, any winter item I want is there. LOL
-
I haven't noticed Halloween stuff out in stores I have gone to lately. But of course since I just wrote that, I will probably see some tomorrow!
-
Yes it seem it is rushed. I think they do it so they can make money all the way till October. GREED
-
Michael already have Thanksgiving stuff out too. I think it too early for that but whatever.
-
Halloween happens to be my favorite holiday, so I don't mind seeing all the stuff out already, though it's certainly soon. I do get annoyed seeing other holiday stuff way ahead of time, but I've grown used to it too in a way. They're just trying to move product, I get it.
-
That's insane. It's July!
-
Everyone is looking to make a buck, while shoppers are looking for ways to save, nevertheless there needs to be some control.
-
Yeah I used to work in a big grocery store as a receiver and had this holiday stuff come in months before that one day and took up a lot of space in my backroom which made working very difficult :bad: 8)
-
Ugghh! I went to a couple stores today and two of them already had Halloween stuff out. I hate that. I feel like they are trying to rush my life away. September fine but not July!
Because in a couple of weeks, they will have all the Christmas stuff out. The Holidays are just commercial to entice people to buy early and spend more money. There is no goodness or emotion in the Holidays. Greed pours out.
-
I have not seen any yet, but I am sure by late August stuff will be in the stores as end of summer sales are on now and by September we will probably see Thanksgivings stuff.
-
Already? It's way too soon for that. I guess they're just trying to get the seasonal isle filled up.
-
Because at the beginning of August, they will have all the Christmas stuff out. Commercializing Greed.
-
I know is that crazy or what? I mean it just is the beginning of August so it is almost a full three months until Halloween. It is just insane to me.
-
Crazy! it seems to get earlier every year!! LOL! not really, but it is crazy, how they run the holidays together!
-
It's all about the $$$$$. Get product out early and sell as much as possible. Halloween is only once a year.
-
I guess they are trying to make all the money they can. I guess the earlier they put stuff out the sooner you can buy it and you don't have to worry about it later. :cat: :pumpkin: :cat:
-
omg,,relly,,i havent seen that yet..........
-
I didn't see in the store
-
Being my favorite holiday, Halloween is the one holiday where seeing merch early is exciting instead of annoying. But I agree it is almost kind of too early for me to enjoy it properly, especially since by the time I consider it "just right" it'll be long gone and on to the Christmas stuff. It's getting where you can't find anything when you do want to buy for the current season!
-
Because at the beginning of August, they will have all the Christmas stuff out. Commercializing Greed.
Which would means people buy stuff this early. You can call it greed, but it really is just giving the consumer what they want.
-
It's all about business.... don't they start having Xmas stuff out immediately after Halloween? They just prepare on time... make sure they brainwash you ahead of time... so that you WILL purchase something eventually.
-
because they think people will buy it.
-
I know what ya mean. I live in Texas where the heat of Summer sticks around into late September to mid October. Late July I was out of sun tan lotion and when I went to purchase more there were nearly none available but no price drops on what they had left. Last week I went to where the summer stuff was on display to find Fall items in its place. If you think you may need a fan before next summer get it now while you can before the heaters take their shelf space. I do, However; love when they set-up the really cheap school supply displays. I don't have kids, nor am I in school, but it is a good time to stock up on paper notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, etc. for pennies. The funny thing is that I haven't seen any Halloween displays up yet, but I have noticed new billboards advertising for the Christmas season. The rush always makes me feel like I'm lagging to far behind and typically do less each season due to the fact that it's in our face way too soon and ends abruptly.
-
Quite simple they want to extend a short season on items they normally can't just sell in less then a months time. Thats why they do this pretty much for all holidays and occasions. Get the product out before hope for the best it sells and there good.
-
Good grief, so early.
-
It seems like it happens earlier and earlier each year! It is the middle of august, so it doesn't surprise me that some places are already starting to advertise sales and pre-order goods.
-
I was already lamenting about the back to school stuff from last month but then my wife pointed out the Halloween candy that was next to it.
-
My daughter works retail. Halloween was starting to come out last month.
It is my least favorite holiday, and I hate walking by cackling witch heads or skulls.
It is the number 1 money=making holiday, even over Christmas.
Ugh, glad when it is over.
:rose:
-
Just as bad as seeing winter clothes and coats out in August! We know summer is almost over and it is depressing enough without think about snow in August.
-
Lol guys you may as well get it now before the stock run low! :'(
-
I agree clickers, a few years ago I waited but eventually started buying Christmas decor in October, just a few things to see if I liked them when I got home. Wouldn't you know it by beginning of November it looked like the entire section had been sold out. Luckily a couple of weeks before Christmas I noticed a re-stock of the items and I bought every last one, needed the entire re-stock to decorate my tree.
-
Fall is in the air.... no wait, that is still humidity. LOL
They waste not time these days.
-
I know it is a little crazy. I live in Florida and now that school has started back, even though it is still in the 90's they have the summer clothes on clearance and winter clothes out. So yep halloween is out and next month Merry Christmas!!
-
That's retail for you, they have to find something to sell to the people.
-
Not surprising. There isn't much left of summer, and October is just a month away.
-
Some places are putting christmas stuff out already.
-
Want to cram halloween downour throats haha
-
the stores do that to market their stuff that they have i'v seen it when my store waldbaums was in busness they would put halloween or any holiday stuff out so early. and a lot of people complained because of it.
-
they alwys put holiday stuff out way to earley......
-
Isn't it always like that ? like X-mas stuff on sale on November its just to get people ready for the season/holiday the next month.
-
Ugghh! I went to a couple stores today and two of them already had Halloween stuff out. I hate that. I feel like they are trying to rush my life away. September fine but not July!
Because next month the Christmas items will be on the shelves. Halloween and Thanksgiving doesn't have much meaning in todays' world. It's all about the benjamins and greed.
-
As a former retail employee, I can tell you part of that reason is to free up space in the back room (if it is a store with a back room - not all stores have one in which to store excess merchandise) for the Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Christmas stuff. All of that sits in back room bins for MONTHS until the previous seasonal sale ends and the one after it begins to come in. So all that Valentine's candy? Been collecting dust in a back room for 3-4 months before it gets put out on the shelves in February. Yum.
As for stores that don't have a backroom in which to store it? They have to get it ALL out on the floor as soon as it comes in.
So glad this chaos isn't my problem now...
-
Some stores already have Christmas stuff out, I guess it is from last year or have not even clear out
-
Think about it - retailers all want to jump the gun so to speak cause they all want your business and when it comes to Halloween they know the kids with start nagging their parents to get them costumes and such. Remember IT'S ALL ABOUT the MONEY!!!!
-
I was at work this morning and there were CHRISTMAS table linens delivered ..... we probably will have those out before Halloween..... SHEESH.
-
No I live in the country try and I don't really decorate for holidays. I do have a haunted house on the neighborhood I enjoy going to...
