I seem to be struggling more with keeping weight loss off than actually loosing it. I have been trying to eat healthier and make changes in my lifestyle. It's not always easy, but it is well worth it for my health.
-
I am also looking for that magical formula!

It is a constant struggle for me.

Haven't been worrying about my weight, since I have a fast metabolism.. Didn't exercise when I was in high school, but now I get more exercise in regards to cardio and weight lifting... Completely skipped out on fast foods and limit my soda consumption.. Haven't gained any pounds from it, but at least I feel healthier
In High school I heard from athletes that they replace hunger with water... I guess it mainly stops appetite and let the body burn up the water.. Water helps the body metabolize stored fat or something.. Hopefully not to much water, since it could dilute your blood

I think it comes somewhat easy with eating right and at least a little exercise. The easy part being the plan. Maybe not so easy to follow through with. I find the key is that different people think they are eating healthy and they are eating completely differently. If eating truly healthy, I believe this would be pretty easy for you to do.

I too am currently struggling to lose weight. Obviously, when I was younger, it was easier to keep the weight off. As I age, however, I have to work exponentially harder to lose the weight. It is a very frustrating experience, indeed.

I feel your pain and I am back at it again 4 years later with my life style change! This time I will stick to it! I have to do this for myself. I'm not getting any younger and it will get harder with age but week 2 and I already feel better! :D You got this!

Thanks. Yeah sometimes the first part is the hardest, but it always seems like it is a constant struggle. I'm getting better about it and healthier.

I hope to have your motivation. I recently gained an additional 10 pounds while on vacation. I am trying to lose that, in addition to the other 20 pounds I gained over the years. Ugh!

its hard to do...i try to exercise some every day...i am hypothyroid...this last test showed my tsh at 2.8 which dr said was good..since they upped my meds...hoping it will get easier..so far it hasnt and no weight has come off.
-
I keep trying, it is hard but I won't give up. I need to lose some weight and keep it off for good.
-
I think more people finding losing weight easier than maintaining a stable weight. It's easy to cut back and exercise more but when you start eating more and possibly moving less it's easy to overeat to start gaining again
-
I struggle too, I've been incorporating healthier swaps, green tea, and regular short work outs. I'm still eating foods I know I shouldn't, but I eat healthy foods too.
-
Thyroid conditions certainly make it harder to maintain a healthy weight, I hope your meds work too. Just continue to live a healthy lifestyle- weight loss is only one of the benefits :)

keeping it off is a struggle,,,,,,,,,,, :(

I struggle with weight every day of my life too but am mostly always trying to lose weight rather than keep off weight I've lost. I can't seem to do the original weight loss to begin with.

I am not tall and not young so i am trying to keep a balance.Do not eat fry food,no alcohol, less sweets, less bread.

Those restrictions are a great way to control not only your weight, but your health as well. I'm in the process of re-kicking soda. I stopped drinking it in 2009 but started back this year.

Also trying to keep a balance. Avoiding certain foods but soda is a major downfall for me.

I am the same way ... I try to eat healthy but with the rush of everyday life... i just can't
but i do workout 3 to 4 times a week ;D
-
I continuously workout at most twice a day, eat healthy as I can and drink plenty of water.
-
I find it very difficult to keep weight off. I have lost weight a couple of times and it doesn't take long for me to put it back on. It is not how much I eat, but I think it is what I eat.

It's not easy to do, but is possible!

I try to watch my carbs and sugar

My recommendations would be to try to eliminate anything that you now is calorie dense. Cutting out soda/beer is a huge step.
I'm beginning my weight loss journey again, and calorie counting. Instead of splurging, I try to calculate how much each meal is worth. Also, you might consider substituting one meal with a shake/protein drink. These can be decent breakfasts, and are very low in calories, making it easier to get into a deficit. :)
I recommend calorie counting, and reducing the unhealthy stuff over "fad diets".

Keep up the good work! It is a struggle to loose and keep the weight off. Sometimes something works when loosing and doesn't work as well when trying to keep it off. Just keep doing what you're doing...staying focused on being healthy. :)

It is always a struggle

I wish very product in the world wasn't for losing weight. What about the people in the world who are struggling to gain weight. eating more doesn't really help because our bodies burn it off to quickly. We count too. Don't we matter?
-
exercise would do it . Extra house hold chores that need to be done. Fixing your own food instead of buying out or having someone else make it will help to lil things keep weight off

You need to build up muscle to keep your weight off. Those ladies who are walking around carrying those little weights have it down. You can do a 2-minute plank every day that will build/maintain your muscle... you can go on your knees as you build up. Muscle keeps your metabolism up, as you age your muscle starts turning to fat, that is why it is so important to do some daily exercises with weights.
Also, small meals with protein about every 3 hours. Just a few little tweeks in your lifestyle that are so simple will make all the difference.
