Took my dog to vet today. Hot spot is almost healed and he said I can take the 'dreaded' cone off. Now I have a dog who can once again walk through doors! Of course he broke the cone in several pieces. Thanks for all your helpful and caring replies!!

I had to have a cone on one of my dogs for a year several years ago. She kept chewing her foot, she wouldn't stop no matter what we did. We finally put her on prozac and had a cone on her, after a year we finally took the cone off, but continued the prozac and she wouldn't bite her foot. That is unless we missed a day of her meds. She passed away a couple months ago, she was 15 years old.

Glad to hear your doggie's doing better! Give him a pat on the head and a big hug for me!

I'm so glad to hear your dog is doing better! :dog: It's such a relief not having the cone on. My dog went through that recently too. He had cancer removed from his back and had a cone on for a few weeks and was so lethargic. Now the cone's off and he's enjoying running free and jumping.
