Title: Lessons learned
Post by: singletonb on August 21, 2016, 02:09:48 pm
What is a lesson learned that you promise not to do again.  I just experienced fingers that felt like they were on fire because I chopped a large bowl of jalapenos without wearing gloves. Even though I washed my hands with lots of soap and water, it continued to burn until I googled a cure which was to wash my hands with very hot water and soap and then rub with olive or vegetable oil and repeat several times. what a relief.  I promise not to do that again.  Very painful.

oooouch! Hope you are ok! Sounds like you learned your lesson the hard way. We are always learning new things and lessons and mine is never trust people who show you a fake face. I am too easy going and too nice to people some times and I wear my heart on my sleeve. Big lesson learned for me! :)

I will never date someone I work with.  I also lived with them.  Never again.

I remember learning a painful lesson. I got a picnic basket given to me once and I loved looking at all the individual pieces contained in it. I was surprised how sharp the cheese knife was so I decided to put it to the test. I got my chunk of cheddar out the fridge and was careful to hold the knife parallel to my fingers as the knife when down to the chopping board. It cut right through the cheddar alright, and then I noticed blood on the chopping board. I managed to cut the cheese and slice off  most of my nail and a tiny bit of my finger too! My nail eventually grew back but I kept a band aid on it for the longest time! For the record, I never used the knife again.

Oh no...I hope your ok! Yes, lesson learned. In fact, I go through a similar scenario every time I cut onions and start crying and then rub my eyes. Lesson learned.  ;)
