Title: Dining room table
Post by: melodylogan45 on September 10, 2016, 05:08:16 am
Is your dining room table only used for eating or do you have a lot of items on your table like medicine, papers, pens pencils and etc? My table is used for everything because I live in an apartment.

I don't clutter mine.
I might do a jigsaw puzzle on it that doesn't fit on my jigsaw puzzle board.
my dad used to use the dining room table for work he brought home.

There are only 2 of us, so we mostly eat in front of the tv. However we use it to play cards, pay bills, eat at on the holidays

We eat on the dining room table.  I gave 2 candle holders with candles and a crystal bowl in between them.  Nothing else.

My dining room table got loaded up with so much junk I don't even use it any more for serving meals. We just eat at the small kitchen table now. One of these days I will get around to cleaning up the dining room table.

My dining table does get a little cluttered but every couple of days I try to straighten it up.  No one gets their stuff/dishes off the table which is ridiculous because we are all adults.  My youngest son's girlfriend is lazy and my older son is the only one working so he thinks he isn't supposed to do anything else.  My youngest son will do some to help especially cooks randomly.  Oh well I just try not to let it bother me and do what I can.

I think that dining room tables are somewhat of a waste and always have. Most families have dinner in the kitchen and there is generally a small table in every kitchen that is much more intimate and well suited for family coziness and conversations. We use our dining room table about six times a year-certainly not worth the cost of the furniture (table and chairs) and extra money spent heating the extra room. We have Thanksgiving at our house every three years or so for extended family and are happy that we have the extra room for those occasions but over all the extra room and furniture, in my eyes, are wasteful. Every few months we will sit down and play games in the dining room but this can be done just as easily at a table that we have in the basement.

There is currently nothing on my dining room table but a fan... fan is used to circulate the air in room as it has vaulted ceilings & it's crazy to turn on AC.    Vaulted ceilings are pretty, make the room look dramatic, but boy, it is such a pain to heat and cool.

for the past year or so I have been trying hard to keep my dining room table clear of junk. The main time I use it is when friends and family come to eat.
Sometimes I will wrap presents on it but most of the time it is used for entertaining. :rainbow: :rose: :peace:

Our dining room table is for eating on & our kids occasionally use it to do homework on. I hate having it cluttered so it's cleaned daily. When my husband & I first started dating we lived in a tiny apartment and it was cluttered 24/7 it seemed like. But that was because we had no room what so ever.

Technically we don't have  dining room, not in the formal sense.  But the table is used for placing the days mail and a few other items but for the most part I keep it cleaned off because if I don't it gets really cluttered.   We do eat dinner at the table.

Mine currently has a bunch of painting supplies on it from my last craft project. Typically it's more of an overflow area for whatever non-perishables won't fit into my cabinets. I live in an apartment, so kitchen storage isn't all that great.
