I have had many discussions with people over the years about which way to install a roll of toilet paper (I think maybe I need to get a life lol)
I am an "over" person. I think it looks better and I believe it unrolls better. Also, when you go to a hotel, it is over and the end is usually folded to a point.
What are your thoughts?
-
It's funny you ask this. We have different ways of doing it. My husband is like you, over....me on the other hand under. Whenever you go to any of the bathrooms you can always tell who changed the roll.
-
I agree - definitely "over". It seems when it's put on "under" the roll rolls faster and then you waste that much more!!!
-
I remember my mother telling me she and my dad had an argument on their wedding night over which way to do it.
Me, I am an over. When it is under, you often have to work to get it unrolled.
:rose:
-
Definitely over! Just easier to use.
-
we put it under always have even when your thinking about it
-
I am an over person. It is just easier.
-
The toilet paper must absolutely be over. Anybody would puts it under needs to evaluate their life
-
Over.
-
I think over is helps with that taking too much. And when you miss place the roll holder, well, you just hand them a roll, than you don't have to worry about that bathroom problem.
-
I am also an over person. I just feel that the toilet paper rolls off the cardboard tube better if it is in the over position. The under position just seems backwards.
-
It's funny that you mentioned this, When we got married my wife told me "do you usually insert the toilet paper under this way?" I said, I usually don't think about and I am left handed so it would be easier for me if I am left handed. So she said well most people are right handed. So from then on if she puts it in then it's over if I put it in then it's under. So for me either way is right depending on what hand you use!!!
-
I put it on both ways. As long as I have it, I don't care which way it goes on.
-
As long as the toilet paper does not jam the dispenser, up or down is OK with me.
-
Over!!!!

LOL Me too! I guess we are pretty easy to deal with in regards to toilet life!
-
For sure over!

That's interesting, because I am left-handed, and I'm DEFINITELY an "over" person! It annoys me greatly when family members put the toilet paper roll on "backwards." It seems like I'm constantly changing it around. (And by the way, I saw an illustration once from the patent application for toilet paper rolls, and it is "over." So that is really the correct way.)
-
I've been putting it under. It just works better for me.
-
Over over definitely over - it makes me crazy for someone to put a new roll on and they put it under. If it is my house it gets changed to over - if it is someone else's house they have a right to put it according to their wishes lol
-
We use Cottonelle (a little heavier) so OVER works better. Since I am the ONLY one who changes it, it always goes OVER. If the roll needs changing and I am not around, my wife will let it sit on the counter for DAYS until I get around to changing it. She does most of the work around our house, so I don't mind having that little job at all.
-
I think this is one of the less important issues I have ever discussed in this forum, but I have to say I prefer pulling the paper from under the roll rather than over it. I find I take too many squares of paper when it rolls down over the top, thereby wasting paper.
-
At my house it is an all out war. I always put the toilet paper over and my husband will turn it under (I thinks he puts it under just to drive me crazy)
-
The roll goes over in my house.
Thankfully, in my home, there are no toliet paper "rebels" we all face them the same way. It's a non-issue in my house.
-
I don't have a preference and don't even pay attention but if I remember correctly, there was an image a little while back that I saw that showed what was supposedly the "proper way" to do it...which I believe was over, though don't quote me on that
-
So long I have when I need it!
-
Fun conversation, I like over.
-
Over. The original toilette paper patents picture shows it over. So all the under believers are rebels. giggle giggle.
-
To me it doesn't matter as long as I got some!
-
I've always put it over. Come to think of it everyone in my family is an over person. It actually really bothers me to see it under. It doesn't feel right, haha.
-
With children and puppies I think it prudent to have the toilet paper under so that an avalanche of excess is not created. We used to have a dog that would grab the end of the toilet paper and go running through the house with I until it ran out or broke off. If it broke off he would go back and re-start his mission. I think that over is more of a luxury but looks so much nicer. Our dogs and kids are at an age where going under isn't much of a concern any longer. We have a house cleaner that comes in every two weeks and she insists on having the toilet paper over so that she can create a decorative little triangle at the end. Being the tight wad Scrooge Mcduck that I am I see this as a wasted square of toilet paper.
-
I am an over person...we actually just leave the roll out...the roller doesn't dispense too well...
-
Definitely an over achiever.
-
1000% over! I cannot understand why some people put it under, and how they can actually grasp the TP when they go to wipe! It just doesn't seem or feel right to me. Maybe it's because I'm a lefty, but I will definitely change the roll if I see someone has put it on incorrectly.
-
In my house it has to go over for sure
-
Over
-
My wife finally convinced me that "over" is correct.
-
I know it is supposed to be over but we put it both ways in my house. As long as its there when I need it then it doesn't matter if its over or under to me.
-
Over every time
-
Over, but no preference.

Over. My sister prefers under and it drives me insane! lol.
-
Toilet paper must absolutely be over. If any does it otherwise, I suggest you get yourself checked out.
-
must be over for me!!!!!!!!!!
