Title: meeting an actor
Post by: Gerianne on October 13, 2016, 07:56:28 am
I think it would be cool to meet Richard Gere, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Gerry Butler, Tom Hanks, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Leonardo deCaprio......I have a few more actors I like.
I think I might cry with happiness.
I saw Jennifer Aniston's latest video about flying a certain airline with a little boy.

You really like Tom Hanks, huh?    ;)   For the record, I think he is a great actor too.

I went to the gym and saw carrot top, and an actor that I did not notice who he was, so I stood there like it was noting to me until my daughter told me who he was grrrrr, and he was uneasy because I did not know he was at the time grr.

I met 2 actors before but they're not REAL famous. They played the Weasley twins in the Harry Potter movies, James and Oliver Phelps. And this was back in 2004. But I was still nervous and excited to meet them, it was pretty cool. I would love to meet Matt Damon as well :)

We were flying to Reno in 2013 and had a stop over in Las Vegas. We were walking through the airport and noticed Ving Rhames standing there alone! We went up to him and started talking to him. I told him I loved him in "I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry". He laughed and said "No, I'm not gay". lol
I asked if I could get my picture with him and he said no, then everyone would want a photo. I said that's cool. I understand. He was very nice.
I also met Paula Deen at the Argosy Casino in Indiana in 2008. She was in the High Limit area and we struck up a conversation with her as well. My BF sat down next to her to play the $10 slots. That was an expensive Meet and Greet to say the least lol She was very nice as well. She gave my BF an autograph for his teenage son who wanted to be a chef. She wrote "Never stop cooking"

I once opened the door for Elliot Gould.  We were both entering an antique shop at the same time.

I've met more professional athletes than actors. I can't even think of any big mainstream actors I would be overly excited to meet

I go to comic conventions and I love meeting the celebrity guests. Not even necessarily getting their autograph, but just going up and saying hi and having a small exchange. It's way cooler to me than just getting their auto, a little more personal and memorable.

Some are not really well-known unless you're big into sci-fi, but I've met Garrett [Wa]ng, Manu Intiraymi, Jeri Ryan, JG Hertzler, John DeLancie, Nichelle Nichols, Richard Hatch (the actor, not the Survivor contestant lol), Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite, Hayley Atwell, Chloe Bennett, and Kevin Conroy.

Edit: It bleeped a last name lol

When I was 12 or so my sister took me to see Debbie Gibson.  We had back stage passes.  When she approached us I was star struck.  I literally couldn't speak and was just in awe.  My sister however went onto to tell her all about her customer service position for Plano Molding.  The company Debbie was representing at the time for Kaboodles.

I have always liked tom hanks and Julia Roberts. The other I would like to meet is mark Harman. However, I tend to be rather nervous and shy that if I met any of them I would probably not be able to say a word. :pumpkin: :peace:

I was very lucky to meet the band members of Jefferson Starship last November. We had front row seats and were able to go to the meet and great after the concert. It was so sad to hear of the lead singer, and original Jefferson Airplane member passing away a few months later. they were all so nice and down to earth to talk to.

In keeping with the spirit of this conversation, several years ago I met Bobby Flay (celebrity chef, not an 'actor,' per se).  It was a funny exchange between us because I was trying to remember what specific programming I'd seen on Food Network while he was struggling with the subject, too.  He had starred in so many shows and they all kind of blur over the years.  My remarks were meant as a compliment, which I believe he genuinely appreciated.  He was really approachable and engaging.

I would love to meet Kerry Washington, Oprah Winfrey, Ben Stiller, Hugh Jackman, Denzel Washington and Julia Roberts.  Unfortunately, I haven't met any actors at this point but my husband has met a number of actors through his past employment.  He is now retired.   :)  :)

I got to meet William Petersen, who played Gil Grissom in the original CSI show. He does some plays every once in a while in his hometown of Chicago, and one time I bought tickets to see him. Well after the show he came through a door in the theater lobby area and I asked to take a picture with him and he agreed. He was a very nice man, didn't act like he was bothered by me trying to snap a photo with him or anything. He even asked me where I was from and said "God Bless" to me on the way out. I was starstruck, and to this day still think about how lucky I was to have experienced that!

I've met a number of actors and celebrities (all by chance), the "biggest names" I've had the pleasure of meeting and talking to are George Clooney and Ben Stiller. Yes, pleasure, both were very nice and friendly. Oh, Ben Stiller's eyes are PIERCING in person, you feel he's looking through you with 'em!

Recently I went down to Maryland to a Nostalgia Convention, where I met Robert Conrad, who has been my favorite actor for many years. He's old now, but still amazing, very personable and genuinely interested in his fans. It must have been a grueling weekend for him, but he kept his smile and sense of humor. (Needless to say, I had a huge grin on my face and was walking on clouds all weekend!)

I really never met anyone. A long time ago, Jerry Reed  (the singer and actor in Smokey and the Bandit movies)was playing at a local high school. Wanted to get his autograph but hubby didn't want to wait. :(

When Muhammad Ali owned his camp 5 miles from here, there were lots of actors and big names that came to visit, even Elvis. I freaked out because I working that day and it was rumored he was in the mall with Ali. I snuck out and looked high and low. Turned out it was a rumor. :(

Willie Nelson was playing at Pat Garrett's (another C&W singer) who owned a place "on top of the mountain." Couldn't go, too expensive.

Then there's the ones that come to our County Fair. Don't know if anyone knows Sean Klush who was a local who made it  big as an Elvis impersonator. He's so real, you would definitely think it's Elvis incarnate. He comes quite often but I can't take crowds anymore so i don't get to see anyone. :(

The only way I'll ever get to see anyone famous is if I invite them to my home and they accept my RSVP. What are the odds of that happening? LOL :)
