I voted for Clinton also. I am very concerned about our country with Trump in control. The rest of the world is laughing at now. They won't have any respect for him.

I voted for Clinton also.  I am worried about our relationship with other countries now and what the results could mean for our country

I also voted for Clinton but I live in Utah; which is usually, a red state.  A lot of Utahns wear the Republican label so the electoral votes went to Trump.

I think a percentage of people were voting for "CHANGE".  They assume that a change with Trump in the driver's seat will be an improvement.  I'm not so sure about that.  I think some people don't comprehend the potential damage he could do.

That being said, I will adapt.  I also suggest that we all fasten our seat belts because the next 4 years with Trump could be a bumpy ride.

Peace.

Give the man a chance. It won't be easy and he needs our support. I personally am glad that a man was voted in who was not part of the political machine. And I believe he is honest and honestly loves the United States.

If you've read any of my posts on FC, you would probably know who I voted for. It's not a very popular position around here (on FC) evidently.

I cannot say it did not sway me when veterans, the police, union leaders, and farmers voted for him. To me that's powerful stuff. The elitists do not care about us little guys. You know, the ones trying to make a buck on the internet to help make ends meet.

I respect your right to vote for the person you believed was the better candidate, but I hope you didn't vote for her because she's a woman or because she defamed Donald Trump with many lies during the entire campaign.

I don't believe for a moment that he's a maniac ready to blow up the entire world with nuclear weapons. I truly believe he loves his country and wants to make it a better place for all of us.

Don't crucify me for my opinion. I have some friends and family who voted for Clinton and I still love them. I just wonder how they came to their decision in the face of all the lies and corruption that were unfolding.

I had a very hard time voting in this election.  I did vote, though.  I voted for Hillary Clinton.  Although she has a lot of excess negative baggage, I believe she would do a better job for the majority of our citizens than her opponent would do.

linderlizze:  How can you say that, do you have blinders on, I voted for Clinton because I think she was the best person for the job.  Trump is crazy, all you can say is Clinton lies, look how many lies Trump have told.

I voted for Hillary and feel very sad that the election went the way it did.  Liz, I did not vote for her because she is a woman.  I voted for the candidate that I felt was concerned about the issues that concern me.   The environment was a big issue for me.   Donald Trump has already announced he may be putting an energy lobbyist, Mike McKenna, as head of the DOE.  He also wants to eliminate the EPA.  I am looking at the people he is looking to surround himself and it scares me.  There is also talk of Sarah Palin being in his adminstration and Chris Christie.   I just cannot support someone whose views are so far from my own.   I am afraid for the future of our children.   I understand people wanted change from the current political situation but I don't believe the change we will see from Trump is the change most folks wanted.   Time will tell.

Well see everyone has an opinion and mine is that Trump might have his own "issues" but I think Clinton could not be trusted to have anyone's best interests at heart.  I think she would sell this country down river in a heartbeat and everyone in it.  So I guess either way the majority of people didn't trust her to be president.

I understand what you're saying about the lack of trust in Hillary and her not being able to be trusted in having anyone's best interests at heart.  I personally don't agree with that statement but respect your view.   But can you trust Donald Trump to have "everyone's best interest"?    What about all the small businesses he didn't pay after they did work on his casinos, etc.?  His business record, for me, has proven he only has his interests at heart.   Personally, I would have preferred the woman who has fought for children, women, and the minorities rights all of her life.

I voted Trump. I believe 100% that we will have a woman President someday soon and I support that happening, but I do not believe Hillary was the right person for that.  The mainstream media is so unprofessionally biased in favor of Hillary and the liberal platform in general and so opposed to anything conservative.  Hillary and the media ran a fear campaign.  The picture they painted of a potential Trump administration of racism, bigotry, warmongering, etc. is so far removed from reality, but was painted with a brush of fear and hate.   Trump is NOT going to round up and throw all illegal immigrants out of the country; he is NOT going to start a nuclear war because of some insults and a thin skin; he is not going to kill peace loving Islamic people; although the things Trump has said about women were abhorrent, he is not going to rape women in the White House or anywhere else (it was okay for Bill to do the things he did and for Hillary to do anything to destroy the reputations of those women - double standard?); he is NOT going to destroy our country to line his pockets (and will not be in the pockets of special interest groups like Hillary would have been).  In the next 4 or 8 years - none of these things that Hillary supporters say is going to happen will actually happen.

That said, I did not vote for Trump based upon his politics or his personality (although I am willing to give him a chance and see he can they accomplish).  I voted for Trump because I could not in good conscience vote for Hillary and all of her lies and the very obvious double standard that exists if you have liberal versus conservative views; I voted for Trump, knowing that he is smart enough to surround himself with smart people in his cabinet and knowing that he would bring the Supreme Court back to center rather than ultra-left for decades to come.

I voted for Donald Trump because I am opposed to abortion, especially when so many people use it as a method of birth control and not because of any health risks.  I voted for Donald Trump because Obamacare has been an absolute disaster and has negatively impacted my medical costs.

My vote for Donald Trump does not make me a racist or a homophobe or a deplorable person and I am so tired of those out there who equate one with the other simply because the media or Rosie O'Donnell or Cher or Myley Cyrus told them it was the case.

I voted for Donald Trump as the lesser of two evils and I was not willing to throw my vote away to some third party candidate.  I accepted Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama as the prior Presidents elected during my lifetime in the elections in which I was old enough to vote.  I did not vote for each of these, but I accepted them as the country's choice.  It should be no different now with Donald Trump.  Let's give him a fair chance and see what he does. Let's accept him as the President-elect. Let's stop the name calling and protests because things didn't go our way.  Is he perfect?  Not even close. But there has never been a perfect person to walk this earth other than JC.

Quote from: Mayor Betsy Hodges of Minneapolis
Our first order of business, however, is to grieve, to rage, to confess confusion, to shake with fear. Only when we let ourselves feel fully do we free our minds enough to think clearly about what is next.

So according to the Mayor of Minneapolis, it's perfectly reasonable, nay, it is our duty as first order of business to rage -- to express "violent, uncontrollable anger" (Google definition for "rage") -- in demonstrations in her city (and the rest of the country). After all, that is how all of the racist, sexist, homophobic later-Trump supporters acted when Pres. Obama was elected. Oh wait, that last part never happened... SMH

She later quoted Maya Angelou:
Quote from: Maya Angelou
Hate, it has caused a lot of problems in the world, but has not solved one yet.
I guess to rage is not to hate in her world.

People fear that Trump will fly off the handle and start a nuclear war, yet this Mayor says that it is when we feel fully (and perhaps irrationally) that we have a clear mind to make good decisions.  ???

I just love seeing this kind of leftist leadership during this peaceful transition of power...  :silly:

I feel the majority of the country was so desperate for change they voted against political corruption and the media more than they voted for Donald Trump. The masses took their collective middle finger and gave it to the corrupt government and the media.
But you know what? It's done. The election is over and now we must stand united and support the decision of the American people. And you know what? I hope President Trump does take all the illegal aliens from our country and send them home. They are here ILLEGALLY! They can return when they go through the proper channels. Period. If an intruder breaks into your home and steals from you and is caught and says the reason he broke in was to take some of your belongings to give himself a better life, is he a criminal? Was this illegal? You betcha! The fact that we tolerate illegal immigration into our beloved country is baffling to me in my opinion.

I voted for Trump,  He may  have been my first choice, i can tell you i would not have voted for Hillary at all. I have watched and listened to her for over 30 years and they was a lot of unsavory stunts she pulled, Yes Some day we may  very well have a woman president, Even though i am a republican and if i felt  that she  maybe a democrat was the right person i would vote for Her. Instead of saying you can't wait for Trump to start a war, may you should i hope he proves himself.

I voted for Trump, he was just the right choice for me.  I value openness, honesty, and love of country and Hillary just didn't/doesn't have it.  I also sincerely believe that too many people believe everything they hear or read just because it's in the main stream media.  Too many people today get butt hurt over things that are said.  There are way more important things to think about than whether someone called me a name or not.  What bothers me more than any name calling is the lies and deceit perpetrated by the Clintons and their "foundation."  Hillary let people die in Benghazi when it was her job to protect them.  She just blew it off and insulted the families of these men.  She can't be trusted, and I wasn't about to take that chance just because she's a "woman."

Funny that you think Clinton is better than Trump.  I think Trump has problems but Hillary Clinton is totally and completely scary to me.  I think she is an evil person and I wouldn't trust her on any level.  There is no doubt in my mind that woman would sell this country down the river for a dime.  You know the bible says that God puts in high places who he wants?  Also that we are to pray for those persons.  Why can't everyone move on - show some respect for whoever is president, pray for them and quit disrespecting who God puts in office because to be honest that to me is a form of disrespecting God.  And this is the last I have to say on the subject lol.

Actually it does matter. Who you vote for determines who the Electoral College votes to elect. There's been a few unfaithful electorates, but nothing to change the outcome of an election.

I voted for Clinton though I didn't come to my decision lightly.  I was impressed by Trump's attitude to put America first which honestly I found odd given he is Republican and the man reason I mostly vote Democratic because that's their stance.  I was also impressed by his fearless nature to deviate from party politics and be candid about his thoughts (however offensive they are).  My problem with Trump wasn't he was sexist or racist since that, sadly, happens to be the current norm so it is little wonder why he won.  My problem is that while he will sometimes say very brilliant things, come up with really great idea I could get behind and agree to, he then turns around and says stupid things, offensive things that are at best half truths and at worst, so vile he shouldn't even be thinking them let alone speak them out-loud.  To me Clinton wasn't any better since she was strictly a party person and whatever came out of her mouth was clearly dictated.  I also had the problem with her classified emails, which my father constantly ranted to me about, and he was justified.  He's worked for the DOD for thirty years and he said if he did what Hilary had done, he'd have been instantly fired.  I only really picked Clinton because she took Tim Kane as her running mate.  In my mind, she was the lesser of two evils.
