Post by: metsrock69 on December 01, 2016, 05:57:16 am
Do you have this service? I was doing some shopping on Amazon and they offered me a free 30 day trial. also got free shipping on the items I ordered which basically paid for the 1st 3 months of prime if I would have paid for shipping. I also like the free movies That prime offers :)

I have it and I love it.  I order a lot from Amazon so it's been worth it for me.   I've also used the video feature.   If you don't purchase a lot on Amazon it's probably not worth it.    There have been times I've seen something on Amazon I wanted and would go ahead and order it, even if it's one item because the shipping is free.    I would highly recommend it if you a regular Amazon user.

I have tried it before and its ok.  I like the free shipping however I don't like that they want to charge you for the whole year at one time.  I have netflix though anyway so I just stick with that for the streaming.

I got it during the Black Friday sale this year for $79 and will most likely keep it from now on. It has improved since the last time I tried it a few years ago and I love the impulse buying ability. I saw we had some fruit flies bothering us and ordered a fix that came in two days that was much cleaner than home done remedies. Same thing when I decided to make a restore disk for my Windows 10 computers and grabbed a five pack of USB sticks the right size and had them a couple days later without leaving the house. I like that.

I like Amazon prime when it was $69.99 w/ student discount.. Now it is $99.99.. If I feel that I have a lot of stuff to buy or there is a discount on yearly membership I would get it.. If not I could always do month membership on holiday season

I had it and ended it at the 30 day trial period. I love Amazon but don't shop on it that much and don't really watch that much movies. I did however utilize the free streaming ad free music on my Echo which was great. And the shipping was free and fast on most things. So for 1/2 the price of amazon I pay like $4 just for Amazon music. I love it! :)

I have Amazon Prime, the Amazon Fire Stick (cord cutter) and Amazon Kindle Fire. I love Amazon! The Prime shipping is awesome. I also have Netflix, Hulu and CBS All Access. I haven't had cable or satellite for years.

I've used Amazon Prime for going on two years now.  Since I get weekly payouts from one app in Amazon gift cards, and use that payment option on several other sites, I always try to maintain a running Amazon credit balance.  It comes in handy around this time of year for Christmas shopping, and the two day free shipping on Prime has been a great feature when my wife's birthday or our anniversary comes up and I fail to plan far enough in advance!

The video selection is very good (it's not Netflix, but it is still easy to find very entertaining movies and television shows).  Last year when I was down with a short recuperation after a hospital stay, I was able to binge watch Downton Abbey for a week on Amazon Prime.

I like that.

oldbuddy, we just had a bad bout with fruit flies in our kitchen for several weeks.  I think they are gone now, but I am curious what fix you used from Amazon.  I've heard of using the home remedy of apple cider vinegar with a drop of dish soap, but if there is a reasonable and less messy option that was successful for you, I'd be interested in hearing about it!

Yes! They often offer deals for discounted prices for it, too, so stay alert! Worth it if you order and ship a lot ...

I am not sure if I want to spend the extra amount for that

When I shop on Amazon I usually spend more than $49 so I end up with free shipping, anyway.  The 2 day thing doesn't matter to me and I wouldn't be streaming the movies, at this time.

Maybe someday, I'll invest in Prime for a year.  Walmart now has a similar service but I do the same thing on the Walmart site.

I've had Prime for almost a year now & since I shop more on-line than in stores, it works out great for me!  I LOVE that when I need something, Amazon usually has it (and most of the time it's same or cheaper than anywhere else.....but not always, so it pays to be familiar with prices).
The free shipping, the speedy delivery, their customer service is awesome!

I also gave used "Prime Pantry", watch the movies, etc.......it's so great that they offer so much with Prime at such a low price!!

Amazon Prime sure does have some nice perks to it but I find it too expensive for me because I do not use amazon enough to make the price of Prime worthwhile. Half the time I go to amazon, I then go to ebay and find the exact same item for less, so I end up ordering at ebay instead.

I just got it only a couple of months ago after debating whether or not to get it. There are a few perks to it such as the free shipping and fast turnaround time. The yearly price is something I can deal with since I can pay for it with all the Amazon GC I get. I do shop on the site quite frequently so I do feel I am benefiting from it.

Something people may not know about.

I have Prime and just ordered a new hummingbird feeder for $10 and change, but instead of getting it with two day shipping free, I used No Rush shipping (a week instead of 2 days) and they gave me $5 to spend later in their pantry. I haven't tried this before, but I am interested in what kind of stuff you can get.

Not now, but if I can build up a lot of Amazon GC credit, I'll invest in it in the near future.

Just last week, my wife used a couple of these credits for the Amazon pantry.  I think she got some liquid hand soaps and dishwasher detergent pods.  Of course, we ended up spending more than the credits we had, but it was considerably cheaper than paying full price for the order -- all things that we would have needed at some point anyway.

If I am understanding your point correctly, I think you might be making a mistaken assumption. I'm not sure about the initial sign up, but I found out first hand that you cannot use Amazon gift card credits to pay for the Amazon Prime renewal fee when it comes due to re-up for the next year.  My gift card credit was not an available payment option when that happened.

It's still a great deal though.

I have Amazon prime. I pay 49.00 a year because I'm a college student. I don't know how I lived without it. The free shipping is worth it because I use Amazon a lot.

I have an account with Amazon Prime. It's a great way to watch unlimited movies and TV shows for a low monthly price and a good alternative to cable tv.

I use Amazon a fair amount, but not as much as others do. I signed up for the free trial, partly because I wanted to experience free shipping and partly because I wanted to benefit from the free movies, but I discovered that not all items were included in the free shipping offer. This was some time ago now, so maybe things have gotten better. Eventually I let the Prime trial expire and now I'm back to paying $25 for shipping!

I love it!!!  :rainbow: If anyone on here is a student, there is an student offer for a 6 month free period with a student email address! You get free movies and fast shipping. And if you pick the No-Rush shipping, you get a free 5$ towards your Prime Pantry! 10/10

I've been an Amazon Prime member for a few years now. It is awesome, because I order A LOT from Amazon, and I save way more in shipping costs than the hundred buck membership fee. Plus, I usually opt for slower shipping, and get $1 digital credits back for that. They also have unlimited photo storage with Prime, which is great for backup purposes, although I haven't uploaded many photos yet, because uploading takes a long time.
