Does anyone do a big Christmas dinner like they do Thanksgiving? We keep it really simple Christmas and do apps and pasta or sandwiches or something easy.

My granma used to make big dinners for both holidays, but as people passed on or moved away, she stopped doing them. Then after she passed, it fell to me to do it, but it is just me, my mom and my dad now doing it. So no big dinners now.

We keep it very simple. By the time the Christmas season gets here, I really don't need to be eating anything at all.

When I was growing up, we always went to my great Aunt's house on Christmas Day for a formal, old fashioned, sit down Christmas dinner. It was very proper and elegant, and I'm so grateful I had that experience. I didn't appreciate it back then because it interrupted my playtime with my brand new Christmas toys, but now I'm happy that I have that unique memory. As for present times, Christmas dinner at our house is a mixture of lots of our favorite foods, sitting out on the counter and you just eat all day whenever the urge strikes.

My sister has ham for Christmas and pork and sauerkraut for new year's day

We go all out for Christmas, even more so than Thanksgiving. Hey, we only get to eat these things once a year, so Christmas is the time of year we make it all.

Christmas and Thanksgiving...both go all out. Usually have a spread about 15 - 20 dishes. But Thanksgivings always have turkey.
