Title: Wifi or hard wire
Post by: metsrock69 on January 08, 2017, 10:36:47 am
Do you have wifi in your house or do you use a hard wire? For my desktop, I use a hard wire. I used to have a wireless plug in for it but I moved to another room where the internet modem was

We use both.  A lot of people have problems with wifi due to interference or even your cable connection.  Since we subscribe to a premium service for internet and have a fairly new modem, it's a rare occasion I ever have any problems.

I have wifi. I have very little problems with the signal going out. I also use it for my cell phone so I don't have to use my data usage.

For my main computer, I use hard wire...everything else is wifi. Very little (almost none) problems with wifi.

WiFi for me!  I love the independence of not being connected to a cord.

Wifi in our house.   It makes it easier to be able to get on our laptop from anywhere in the house.   I use my laptop in the kitchen at times to read over recipes.

I use Wi-Fi for laptops, phones, tablet, Smart TV, Roku, but hard wired for desktops because it's much faster.

I just use wifi for my laptop on campus. Do not really have a need or desire for the hard wire.

Have wifi at work & hard wire at home.  Wifi is easier (no tangled or damaged cords) but I still prefer the hardwire for home..........it seems to be more reliable & runs faster for everything I have to do.

Hard wire for desktop and find it aggravatingly slow for WiFi on my tablet. It took me 10 minutes to get a to the comment section on Facebook last night and forget about playing games! It's aggravating because I'm only 15 feet away from the WiFi/modem.

This is the company I have problems with every month since they installed Xfinity. Last month, i had to call them 3 times for problems. Then they put in a price hike yet! I can't wait to get away from them, at least for TV. Rarely a problem with phone or internet, just TV.

Depends how close it is to the router and also what usage... I have my lan connection (Ethernet) to my desktop. I mainly use my desktop for general usage and also for gaming. You really need solid connection to play multiplayer or else you will have lag and such. Other then tht my desktop is station and it doesn't need to be moved... For wifi connection they are for cell phones and laptops (basically any mobile devices).. Connection could be slower than Ethernet connection, but if it is mobility, the tradeoff is fine

My desktop computer is hard wired, but everything else - printer, laptops, ipads, phones, tv's - are connected via wifi.
